Stolen item from DHL staff

My parcel was “inspected” by DHL/Deutsche Post in Frankfurt, resealed with their official tape, and arrived completely empty except for their inspection letter. The item was clearly stolen while under their control. This is not a postal service, but a guild of thieves operating behind official procedures and paperwork.

After researching online, I found many other people reporting similar cases of stolen items after Deutsche Post inspections — so this is not an isolated incident. Yet there is no accountability, no investigation, and no transparency. Absolutely disgraceful — I will never use Deutsche Post again or trust them with any shipment of value.

I get repeated failed delivery attempts…

I get repeated failed delivery attempts to my address. I work from home and am always available to receive packages.
On separate occasions, I saw the DHL delivery car on my street and was waiting for it to arrive. Despite this, the driver did not stop at my address and simply drove away. I even went outside immediately after receiving the email notification that my delivery was on the way (in 15 mins), but no attempt was made to deliver. I was literally standing on the street.
Every other delivery service—such as Hermes and Amazon—delivers to my address without any issue. It is very disappointing that DHL repeatedly marks deliveries as “attempted” when no real attempt was made. I hate this.

Worst experience

I had delivery with dhl. I was home expecting the delivery and watching the live broadcast of the delivery vehicle . So I went out side and saw vehicle , but there aren't anyone coming . After waiting sometime I got mail saying that the package it sending back to the sender delivery not possible . I don't even know want the reason for that. I tried calling dhl customer service , one person say it's not there department it's express delivery . Then i tried that number , they again they say it's not express . The i tried the chat bot , but it's only provide service for domestic shipments . Then i again tried calling customer service . No one provide me any information regarding the status of the delivery or any information or reason for the package not being delivered . At last I mailed then asking for the same. But then I came to know that , it would take maybe 1 to 3 days to get the reply. I don't know what to do . This is one of the worst experience from a delivery service . I was even home to collect the delivery so it won't be returned . I spend the whole day trying to know the whereabouts of the package . But nothing .

Lie! All a lie!

Ever since pandemic and 'no contact' delivery has become the norm, it became impossible to expect a package to be delivered to my door. i understand the deliverer is under lots of pressure, but I can't stand the blatant lie - 'we're sorry we could not hand it to you in person' even though I was home all day long and by fact my doorbell didn't ring at all. For a time, I endured to go out to pick my package from their post shop or packet station.
I then started specify where they can leave the package - even though ' in front of the house door' was freely interpreted to 'garden gate', 'on the garden bench' or even 'inside the cabinet for trash bin' and sometimes got soaked wet in rain or freeze in winter cold.
But now they don't even bother to take a few steps past my garden gate. They just simply claim that i wasn't home (lie!) nor could they leave it at the specified location (why?!), and just drop it at the post shop.
This service is not free. If I don't get the service I paid for, what is the point? The standard of delivery service has gone down regardless of the courier company, but I must say DHL is the biggest offender though they are supposed to be the biggest and most reliable.

Unable to contact them! Unjustified delay!

I received a receipt in my mailbox indicating that the delivery attempt was made today, 30 October 2025, at 12:57 p.m., and that I was not at home. While I was present at that time, I understand that delivery challenges can occur, and I am not disputing this point.
However, I wanted clarification on the following:

​1. Why the package was not left below my P.O. Box (if it cannot fit within) or in the building’s common hall.

2. The note mentions a nearby DHL pickup location within walking distance. Why was the package not delivered there directly today, instead of requiring an additional day for pickup?

I was unable to find a contact email address, and using their contact form (on their website) always returned an error message!

In short: I didn't receive any help and my query was never answered or proeprly addressed!

For once a decent experience

For once, DHL didn't sit on the parcel for three or four days in their .de warehouse, they forwarded it almost immediately, and for that they get five stars.
Why can't they do this all the time?

The worst

The worst, most outdated postal service in Europe. No real customer support, no responsibility, and no logic in how they handle shipments. Deutsche Post is stuck in the past — never using it again.

I recommend avoiding them if possible

I’ve had nothing but frustration with DHL Germany. Every single time I try to receive a package, they never deliver it to my home. I’ve made multiple attempts and waited at home, but instead of ringing the bell, they simply take the package straight to a pickup point. It’s the worst delivery service I’ve ever experienced. Completely unreliable and inconvenient
I strongly recommend avoiding them if possible.

Avoid DHL

Please you are an international company, and you don't speak any other launguages than german?? You don't have text based chat, or assistant for disabled (mute, deaf) people? I can't modify a package delivery, it' sitting days at a warehouse and you don't apologize about anything? Other companies let me modify packages without even talking to an assistant, or even speed up... Even from china i get my packages earlier than in EU from dhl, if i even get it!

Worse courier in the world.
DHL lost packages, thsent them back for no reason, decided to deliver to a shop that opens 4 hours a day instead of the address we paid to deliver to.
I haven't seen any courier this bad.

A parcel was sent from Germany using…

A parcel was sent from Germany using DHL, only to be switched to parcelforce upon arriving the Uk which is very weird. It's been over a month and last I saw on the tracking information is that the item is being held in the parcelforce warehouse in Coventry. They lied there was a delivery attempt which there wasn't because I stayed home all day on the said day and heard nothing. No slip was left to proof such attemp. Then the parcel went missing. If I check the parcelforce site it says last location Coventry warehouse. However, on DHL tracking site it shows the parcels was rerouted to Germany and has been at the bay since 29th of September and the sender(now recipient) would be informed when it arrives the local postal office. Till date nothing has change.

Dont take DHL

DHL has become one of the most unreliable delivery services I’ve ever dealt with. Their customer service is practically nonexistent — you can’t reach a real person, no matter how hard you try. Packages frequently get “lost” or delayed for weeks without any clear explanation, and tracking updates are completely useless. It feels like they just don’t care about their customers anymore. Absolutely unacceptable for a company of this size. I will avoid using DHL whenever possible.
