I am not sure how it can be considered a delivery service.
When I saw that my parcel would be delivered through DHL my heart sank. Had it been An Post or DPD, I would have received it. With DHL, sure enough, I received the famous "sorry we missed you" email despite having been home all day. So my parcel is now supposed to be at the Post Office which is over 10 k away and with restricted opening time. Technically, I could also ask for a redelivery but seing that it would just mean receiving another email saying I wasn't home, it would be absurd to do so.
DHL might bother to try delivering to people living in big towns and cities. It seems that, in the countryside, they prefer sending "oops we missed you" email instead and dropping the parcels at a collection point.

Very bad at communicating with their customer was told they couldn’t find my address and tried to deliver my package but never came . Only found out about my parcel when I rang customer services and was told my parcel will be delayed for another 5 days horrible service and horrible delivery drivers

They don't deserve a single star, we waited three weeks for the parcels that were in the depot in Roscommon, no one gave us any information, so we decided to go and get them. There were damp boxes, I would just tear them down, this is not a service for customers, but please come alone and take away

Delivered my HH jacket today from Holland to Ireland the times and dates that they said they would deliver was spot on I would recommend DHL to anyone.

When I was trying to write these review I was asked to choose the rating with the star, I didn’t want to choose any, but the funny thing is if I don’t choose any, I cannot go farther; so I had to give one star which they clearly don’t deserve.

I have been expecting my parcel to be delivered on 13th December, on the tracking when I see it is on hold in UK I called DHL and I was told that it arrived late so it will be delivered on the next day which is 14th, when I still see it is on hold in UK on the 14th I called them again, and I was told that same thing which was a lie: it did not arrive late. It is on hold for some other reason.

I understand the nature of the business they have to make sure no illegal substance been carried by them, and I applaud for that. But if you stop somebody’s parcel talk to them and told them that it’s been on hold for XYZ reasons and listens to their answers not to sit back and do nothing,

First they "tried" to deliver but didn't even bother to ring a doorbell. Just called on the phone and after I missed a call they called it a day. "WOOPS! TRied everything!" But okay, whatever. I rearrange the delivery date for the next day and this time they DIDN'T EVEN CALL. Just got a message saying they tried to deliver the package.HOW DID YOU TRY WHEN you didn't ring a door bell nor did you call?! Absolutely hate these type of things. Your job is to deliver and this wasn't even a bare minimum. I'm sorry, but I am very upset about this.

I've dealt with alot of courier company's.... but DHL are by far the worst to deal with ...

When the delivery driver calls to your business with a parcel..... and it clearly says on the door which opening hours we are open ...

But he keeps calling when we are closed ?

You cannot contact the driver ... instead I must ring DHL customer service ( in the Philippines) they then must contact the depot.... which then must contact the driver ?

So instead of 1 person contacting the other person.... we now have about 4 people contacting each other..... and thats when mistakes happen

I have told my suppliers not to use DHL delivering my items ... they are a disaster to deal with....

Items always late.... and always a problem with them....

FedEx, Fast Way & DPD are by far better companies to deal with....

Stay well clear of DHL guys.... they only create a lot of unnecessary phone calls and mistakes

DHL are the best courier service in Ireland.
A real person answers the phone unlike the Robot in UPS.
The delivery people are always extremely courteous and know regular customers throughout Ireland.
They are amazing.

Delivery between 9am and 6pm. Sat at home all day waiting. Get text at 4:45 saying couldn’t be delivered because nobody home, didn’t ring doorbell or text or call me. Called customer service who said they couldn’t contact the driver as his phone wasn’t working. Have to sit around all day tomorrow and hope for the best. Dissapointed.

Had to contact customer service due to an error in the aircode after receiving the 3. Notification of delivery ( three days in a row was getting sms messages of delivery)... The rep said it would be delivered tomorrow. Arround 4 pm i get another sms saying dhl tried to deliver.. and im at home the whole time and noone tried to ring the door or knock. I call your reps again. The lady I spoke to tells me the sms are scam. Clearly not knowing what she is saying as the sms's were clearly from dhl with my tracking number and direct link to my tracking information. Honestly I dont understand, this should have been an express delivery....

Waiting on a B&Q delivery. Was meant to be delivered Oct 23rd. Took day off to receive items. No delivery. No communication. Contacted B&Q. Next delivery was dated Nov 2nd. Husband stayed at home. Delivery guy texted. 7 minutes later I saw text. Sent Whats App to be told he left. My husband said he never arrived!
B&Q arranged delivery again for Nov 9th. No delivery! They sent email and are to get back to me. Hope B&Q pull their contract with DHL. Shocking bad service.

POOR POOR SERVICE!! LIES AND RANSOMED OF PACKAGE AND IT IS JUST TOUGH LUCK CUSTOMER.
Not given truthful information, how is it possible that a big company like DHL can get away without being Legally Obligated to give correct and full information to their clients. And when this does not happen, they get of Scot free! Having the monopoly on the market gives you great power, but they way in which you use this power is appauling!

Very very very poor service they have my parcel past 2 weeks and cannot deliver people In there soo stupid they don't have a clue for everyone seeing this avoid DHL worst compay ever

I understand from the reviews that others have had issues with DHL, but I can only comment on my experiences with them which have consistently been excellent and I cannot commend them highly enough.
I've had packages delivered from both Finland and Bulgaria to the middle of Ireland in 24 hours which is unreal.
Counter that with the experiences I've had with F___x where packages are left in Dublin for a week or more without being delivered?
DHL have never let me down. The tracking is accurate and the courier is friendly and helpful, and at least if you did have a problem you can contact an actual human as opposed to a stupid bot?
From my experiences dealing with all the major couriers operating in Ireland DHL are miles ahead of the rest.

Very poor service. Twice in last month have been left very disappointed with their service. Most recently they were to deliver a package to my school, delivered on a Saturday and email telling us package was delivered. When we eventually got a hold of driver advised it had been left behind a random house close to school behind garage for 3 days. Dont know why suppliers use this company any more

Very poor service… DPD can give me a 1-2 hour window… DHL can only say in the morning that they will deliver before 6pm that day.

Incredibly poor service.
Computer monitor left outside in the rain where anyone could pick it.
No knocking, no phoned, and not even tracking number to know when it was due for delivery.
I though DHL was a serious company, but they are poor like may others... just more expensive.

My friend had great difficulty with a large package delivered to South Africa. Stephen from DHL went above and beyond to get it sorted out for her. Thank you, Stephen. It was great to meet you today to finally say thank you. Also, thank you, Martina and Ryan.

The only express about them is the lies they express. They have lost my package and give me the a pick up location that doesn't exist. I will be going to consumer protection with this
