No Show!
They texted me yesterday to inform me that an item of furniture would be delivered today between 8am and 3pm. The driver would contact me up to thirty minutes before delivery. I remained at home all day and heard nothing from them. No reply to my text requesting information. I still await the item, for which I paid on 18 March and I have contacted the company from whom I ordered it.
On a previous occasion my package from Apple (which I should have signed for) was delivered to the local post office, which is a 3k journey from my house.
I wish I could give negative stars.
Update:
I just had a call from the firm who sub-contracted the delivery and I can confirm that DHL lied and told them it had been delivered. Based on past experience, they probably left it in a tree near my house. It’s annoying enough to have remained at home all day without having to deal with untruths!
A Total Disaster
10 Days ago my phone was handed into a DHL office for delivery at $105. Despite the phone being old I was charged €37 duty. I was told the quickest way to get my (work) phone was to pay the duty and I could claim it back through DHL, I did as advised. When I went about claiming the duty back, having put together the documentation required, I was informed there would be a charge by DHL of €20 for processing my claim. I'm still waiting for my phone and was told they can't give me an exact delivery date. What a disaster!

Delivery driver was terrible!!! Saw the delivery guy from my window just look at my door, didn't attempt to knock, ring the bell or call me on my phone! He simply looked at my door and walked away. By the time I had gotten my shoes on and went out there the van had disappeared!
Rang customer service and they said he was too busy to come back, I would have been absolutely grand if this was my fault and I actually missed the delivery, but it wasn't, I saw the guy just walk away.

Dear God people heed the warning DHL are to be avoided are all costs . Dreadful service . dreadfully ignorant customer care . I have decided I will not purchase from any company or individual who uses DHL . I will insist on regular post or DPD . I want nothing to do with DHL , the stress is just not worth it . So please save yourself the stress and disappointment , use an alternative company . I gave 1 star because in order to write the review I had to give a at least one star , real rating is minus a thousand .
Rude Customer service, Charged EXCESS under "duty charges"
I got an email owing of 207euros for customs duty, I called them they reduced to 42 euros and told me wait for a revised email - to get this I had to call them three times and remind them to send me an email. I get an email I see the revised bill says 122euros, again I had to call, they gave me finance team numbers, If I call the finance team customer service, they said they are in the "meeting", call me an hour later. I call them back I had to wait for a call to be diverted, a man pic up "Chris" he was so rude, he made me cry, he straight up said, I have reduced so much from the actual, if you want you can take or we can send it back to India for free of cost, Me being calm I requested him three times to explain him why I charged more in a simpler way, instead of explaining me the actual senerio, he straight up again said, if you want you can pay or leave it here. I asked him gently again to know the story what's the different in my last shipment and new, because it is from the same sender, same weight and I paid only 20 euros. This time I ended up paying 122 euros. I dont understand under what circumstances they deduced the 80euros from the actual, I was so scared to ask anything to him and he hung up the call. This is not good example. Have never come across this kind of rude customer care service.

I never leave bad reviews but here I am. A very very long story short. Told parcel delivered and a very very blurry picture of parcel on top my post box. Was home 2 hours later and gone. Won't cover it im out over 200 euro of items. My word vs them and I lost. I really hope the driver didn't take it but I can't help think that. I never had issues in my area. I look forward to great driver personally next time I get them.
Poor Spanish Service
I booked DHL express on 29/02/2024 to urgently get a laptop to my son living in Spain. I completed the online form, paid €135 and was told the laptop would be picked up between 11am and 1pm for next day delivery. The DHL driver arrived at 11am and I was impressed. I had theDHL stickers attached to the package as well as handwriting the address. My mobile number was given as well as my sons.
At 3pm on 1/03/2024 I got an email saying the package couldn’t be delivered due to insufficient address . Apparently the number of the apartment was missing… there is only 4 apartments in the building. Instead of phoning me or my son the driver took off. Trying to find a number to call was difficult, the Irish side couldn’t help but said drivers are not obligated to call customers… I would have thought for €135 they should be! Then my son had to get onto DHL in Spain only to find he won’t get the laptop until Monday and has to get a bus to collect it from a depot. He should have had it today and needs it for work. Drivers should at least phone the customer once when express delivery is paid for. I’ll be using a different courier service in future

I put an old address when I placed my order and I didn't realized it until they delivered it. Between me and the carrier has been really poor communication because I didn't know the address was wrong and we were not able to understand each other. I was really scared but the carrier came back and took the parcel with him again.
Customer service was able to work between me and the carrier. They delivered the parcel in the right place in 12 working hours.

Why Pay for DHL when they use An-Post
I would probably have given them a normal review, but they handed my parcel over to Anpost to continue the delivery. This is simply unacceptable.

I am in my home country for 2 weeks to spend time with my dad I bought an apple watch for myself with his adress.It was supposed be here on friday the 9.02.2024 it is 12.02.2024 today. I spend the whole day yesterday and today just to pick up the package. They texted me a few minutes ago and told me that the delivery man couldn’t find the address. There is only one house on this address. They said that i can pick it up tomorrow at a delivery point. They are just lazy and didn’t even come near my address if you buy anything from apple than just go to the store because DHL will give you the package very late.

I cannot comment on the whole company but in the Kenmaere area the driver will not deliver out of town. Today I just got a text saying my parcel is at the post office. So I now have to drive 12 miles into town to collect it.

Parcel…contacted DHL and the amazing Emily contacted the driver who said he thought he saw a different number on parcel so delivered it to a neighbour.
This neighbour forged my signature and took my parcel. Emily thankfully the saint she is asked the driver to go back to get my parcel from this neighbour as I wasn’t going to go accuse and try fight to get my parcel back.
The driver is going to get my parcel, waiting now 2 hours with no sign but once he does and it’s delivered safely to me I will edit my review.
Until then this review stands, accidents can happen.

Driver has come back with my parcel and all good so have changed my star rating from 1 to 4.

I ask DHL to delivery to a collection point which they approved and I was told the delivery will arrive at 6pm or before. After work I rushed to the collection point where I waited for 1 hour 30 minutes. In the freezing cold I waited until I see their vans turn the corner and it did not stop. It kept driving as if the driver didnt even care about his work. I waved at him and he just looks at me. In my mind I thought he was delivering another before mine and I stayed there waiting but it did not come back. DHL does not allow you to call the driver or even track its van unlike other delivery system. DHL should really fix this issue and make sure that their customers are happy. Now I have to wait till after New Years to receive my important delivery....
Brilliant experience
Brilliant experience. Needed to get travel documents sent from Scotland to Ireland as quick as possible and dhl managed, despite the weather, to get it collected and delivered in less than 12 hours. Additionally the delivery driver, Sean, was one of the friendliest and informative delivery drivers i have met. Thank you dhl and thank you Sean.
