Five months ago I got an unsolicited message to my private inbox from a forum member bragging about how good she was at getting other users on Digital Spy permanently banned, even naming names. She seemed quite proud of herself. No idea why I needed to be told this out of the blue and became the chosen one. Deeply unpleasant stuff about how she fitted others up. Never knowingly crossed paths with the member despite my long membership on site. Wasn't impressed and told her so in strident fashion. I then suddenly found myself a target of her vitriol with a string of further messages and indirect threats. Totally unhinged. Went to the unnamed and totally anonymous moderators who seemed complacent and totally disinterested. Their low key reaction really shocked me considering I've seen so many others get the dreaded banned user status on their profiles. I myself ended up being reminded how to behave for daring to report a pattern of abusive intimidating behaviour from another person. Somehow she got to know I'd done so and taunted me in a way that felt like there was an element of enjoyment to it. Got called homophobic (I'm actually gay), racist, misogynistic, you name it. 17 years on DS and endured nothing like it. Quite unsettling. A clear case of forum abuse if ever there was. The name of the forum abuser was LITTLE GIRL OF 7. She has form for this in a big way I found out today thanks to another DS member. One of the vilest nasties on Digital Spy that seems to have protected status. Sickens me. The question is how and why? Where is the accountability exactly? DS now has it's own mafia membership running amok. Why are people like this person surviving and even thriving on Digital Spy? Someone explain!

Forums are run by faceless mods who hand out suspensions and warnings if you post anything less than left wing or disagree with the baying mob of left wingers on there, and if you dare disagree with a mods decision (I did, and said I wanted to "appeal" my suspension to a higher authority than a Mod but was told their decisions were final) you get banned !!!!!

I can only confirm everything everyone else writes.

The forum is an “echo chamber “ for left wing extreme views. If you dare to hold a contrary opinion you will be hounded and belittled by the attack dogs who seem to run the place as their own personal domain. You will be called a “troll, facist, WOM etc” if you question or disagree with the group think of the main contributors or the administration team.

Unless you have the hive mentality of a 6th form politics student don’t bother!

If I could give no stars I would. The forum is clearly run by extreme left wingers who encourage activists with a similar mindset to deride and insult anyone with a centre or right leaning opinion. It is truly appalling. I will try the forum again in a year's time in the hope that it is better moderated by then. I fear it will not have changed.

Used to enjoy contributing to the forum after joining in 2010 - there was always some good banter and some intelligent posters to debate with - but now it's a cesspit of hate and vitriol infested by the resident mob of spiteful left-wing bigots - actively encouraged by the 'mods', who I can only assume are the most painfully woke snowflakes you could ever wish to find and/or controlled by Momentum.

Post anything that goes against the mob mentality and you will be rounded on, insulted, baited and eventually banned. Just don't bother wasting your time. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Just full of ads and clickbait. Trying to read an article and four ads come up before anything else. Have blocked it on my stream.

The Hollyoaks spoliers aren't even dated anymore DS use to be one of the best not even a comment section anymore is the site being run by a toddler there is just no effort anymore in a age of AI surely small things like this can be written such as dates the DS community use to be awesome now no comment sections which means silencing free speech there either needs to be a overall & Staff replaced with people who care or They need to do journalism work if i was in your jobs i wouldn't be on champagne hangovers we don't need Boris Johnson's 2.0 in this world Tories have done enough damage to UK in a decade

I was a forum member for over 14 years with absolutely no problems at all. Was an active contributor to the forum..... then the EU referendum happened. And I dared to show my leave supporting colours. I was constantly sneered at, attacked and mocked for upholding my view without the perpetrators being sanctioned (even though I reported them) and then one day I retaliated back to the attackers and told them what I thought of them.....

I was subsequently given a lifetime ban.

Unless you’re a remain supporting labour voter who identifies as a kitchen utensil, then seriously don’t waste your time. You’ll be shouted down, mocked and ridiculed and you’ll get no support from the forum “team” when it hits the fan.

What happened? When I joined in 2005, yes there were some nutters, but the moderators dealt with any extremism, hard left or hard right, and you could have a friendly and lively joust. Went back on for the first time in a couple of years recently, and I picked up some posters for racial slurs, and received my first ever warning from the moderators, who have a very different view on racism to the general public - and if it’s against white people, actively condone it.
It’s as if momentum have taken over the place, and it’s not a pleasant experience.

This has the be the worst forum online ever. Got banned for stating an opinion which wasnt even hateful in anyway , their defintion of hate speech is basically anything that the DS team disagree with.

DS will be extinct soon at the rate they ban their users !

Forums: Moderation is turning this into a place where actual discussion is impossible. Anything which doesn't wholly endorse the most left wing of views regarding minority groups is considered "offensive" or "harmful" and it is increasingly an echo chamber for the most extreme of views on one side of the debate, while eliminating even the most moderate of opposition to that position. Warning and bans are handed out to the most innocuous of comments.
Meanwhile personal attacks, even death threats against public figures who don't align with the moderators world view are at a minimum tolerated, at worst endorsed. Similarly, forum members who personally attack or insult other forum members are tolerated if their views align with the moderators, or swiftly get booted if not.

No stars if I had a choice. I agree with the reviews below. Unless you agree with the mainly remainer mob on the politics forum you will get banned. But they do not ban those who persist in their insults and put- downs e.g. thick, half-wit, fascist, troll etc. they're ok because they are remainers, they can be as vile as they want as long as it's against those who disagree with them.

Digital Spy has shut down freedom of speech. Seriously don't bother with it.

I concur with other reviews. The politics section is abysmal, moderated by snowflakes who have turned it into a left-wing echo chamber. Don't waste your time on DS.

Wow - the difference between old threads and new is dramatic ! I was reading an old forum thread and it was witty, light hearted and fun. So went to check on some newer ones ! The newer ones are just a bunch of Far Left Wing die hards spewing vitriol about anyone who disagrees with them ! There is no witty banter, no light hearted fun - nothing entertaining at all ! It reads like a Left leaning Nazi propaganda site more than anything !!

Avoid at all cost unless you are PC perfect and have no opinions at all about anything !!

DS used to be good and was well moderated. It is now just a small crowd of Corbyn loving lefties who can say whatever they like and be as nasty as they like about any Tory MP, Brexit voters and the PM. i have read some vile stuff on there but the mods allow them to say what they like. However, if you say one negative word against Corbyn, McDonnell or Abbott you are banned. It doesn’t need to be offensive or nasty just anything negative. There are some very sad losers on there now.

The forum used to be a fun place where you’d encounter a wide range of views from people from different backgrounds. Different backgrounds leads to different views on life. Often different views were challenged and lead to interesting discussions. These days it’s nothing like that, mostly due to the awful moderation. The owners of this website and those who advertise there really should be made aware at how unpopular the forum has become, surely it can’t be good for business.

I was banned over 12 months ago for disagreeing with the clique on the "This Is Most Definitely Not An Appreciation Thread", where they are constantly ridiculing Kevin Clifton. I am a Londoner born and bred, but their continual character assassination of Kevin beggars believe. When I tried to protest about their posts, I was banned. I have since tried to rejoin to no avail.How the hell can you receive a lifetime ban over a difference of opinion on Strictly Come Dancing? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
