Go to another lighting company...any lighting company

Ordered a pair of lights (just under £200) which arrived quickly but with damaged glass shades.
After a number of telephone calls and filling in the returns form I was told that the replacment glass would take around 10 days to arrive.
14 days later I tried to contact them by phone a nd the first day BT had a message stating the was a fault with the line and after that the number just rang with no answer. I then contacted the light manufacturer who had other phone numbers but could not get an answer.
Have now gone to the creditcard company to get a refund.
I recommend anyone stays well clear of this company.

very poor cusotmer service and unnecessary delays on refund

I placed an order with this company in July for a pair of wall lights that they told me were out of stock and subsequently that they were having a problem with their supplier. Unfortunately, like a similar review, I needed my lights in a hurry. Couldn't get through on their telephone number and several e.mails , and six weeks, later after I had cancelled my order they are still refusing to refund the money they owe me. I have now taken this up with my credit card company and will also be contacting trading standards

delay in receiving product and unable to contact company

When I placed our original order, I explained we needed asap - and the assistant confirmed the lights were in stock. Then sent chaser email a week later and was told they were on order! Answering machine on at company - have tried to email for a further reply, no answer as yet.
If we had known of the delays we would not have placed order

thank you - outstanding service

After trying to place an order online and getting confused by the security verification details (my fault not yours) I had an unexpected phone call from Customer services offering to help me place my order. Not only did we put through my order successfully the girl was very patient and took me through step by step what I needed to do. I had no idea that it was safer to place an order on line than over the phone - I am converted ! Thank you Directlight

Felt other Reviews to be unfair

Reading other reviews of directlight i have found most to be mostly complaints. I have not found these reviews to be true due to the fact i have dealt with many lighting companies on more than 9 occasions. each time i have found direct light to be good the best one. speaking with them not every thing on there site is in stock with them so it means you can have to wait, but they do let you know. a lot of there stuff i wanted you cant get anywhere else so it was worth any time i waited. as i work away a lot i found emailing them the best form of contact as they always got back to me, didn't always get a call back.

False response to my review ?

Next day after giving my rating(including ticking "inform Directlight") Max responded, a co-incidence? Then I followed up with further direct emails (CC Bristol Trading Standards), shortly thereafter received email and then my light (with old Feb date label on box), and guess who's name was on confirmational email? Yes Max! Isn't that all a big co-incidence ???

This is all a real shame, the light-shade was good when we finally got it, but the 4 weeks delay and misleading statements totally unacceptable.
