Very quick process from pick up to drop off. No queues and a clean car. Staff helpful and friendly , one of the best hires we have had. This was at Zakynthos airport.

- Arrived location 08:30. Clerk wasn't available until a whole HOUR & two calls later.
- Clerk refused to acknowledge the insurance included in my contract (800€ excess), Wants me to pay 12€/day for it. ONE HOUR & a HALF later, after a long discussion & 3 calls to his manager, they ceded. It sure seemed like a scam.
- Rental starts 09:00, but I wasn't able to get on the road until 10:50. Tons of excuses didn't help.
Used DIRENT before, no issues. This time, it turned out they sold my contract to another company: ARES.

We have been using Dirent now for 10 years and they offer an efficient, super friendly and competitive service. We have no complaints at all. Michael Pinnock and Jane Lunn-Pinnock

Do not rent a car at Dirent. I had a burst tire, I contacted office, there was nobody in office and therefore I had to buy a new tire at the nearest garage. This happened 6 months ago and I am stil trying to contact office for refund. Office does not respond at all. Terrible service.

Terrible service. We arrived at 21:00, they promised to wait for us (additional 30 €) and no one was there. We've been sent to "mega" office and got a disgusting car, very dirty, broken, dangerous. We were stock at the high way and got "new" car (2014!!!) , Good help us, we don't know how we survived to trll.
There was a leek from the gas , and there was no plug to the fuel container, and the smell in the car was like gas station.
Stay away from this company.

Reserved a small group car back in March for our holiday in June. Met at airport in Kefalonia by pleasant chap in Peugeot 301 who took us to the DiRent car park and explained that this was our car. I explained that I really didn’t want such a large car. “I don’t have any other car” - but this is not what I ordered and I see it is automatic transmission - and I have never driven an automatic in my life! We were two ladies of 75 and 80! I explained that I thought it was not right to be expected to take the automatic car in a different country, tricky roads (and drivers) at our age. There was a forecourt full of smaller cars “all reserved” he said. And repeated he had no other car. I had no choice as we needed a car. I have written to Discover cars who took the original booking and as expected the albeit pleasant chap at DiRent in Kefalonia said he gave us a free upgrade - so where is the problem!!??
As it happened I managed to bring the car back minus any bumps, scratches but I truly feel it was highly irresponsible to give a lady with nil experience of driving an automatic car a reasonably large automatic car and to be so intransigent when I was clearly worried about driving it - take it for a trip around the car park was his only concession!

We rented a Hyundai i10 for 10 days from Direntacar at Zakynthos Airport. The service was top class with friendly staff and a very clean and tidy car. Would definitely use again!

I picked the car up in the Airport. I was supposed to pick it up at 23.30 but, due to delay in the passport control, I did it at 00.45. But, it was not a problem, they were waiting until I finally arrived. They contact me by wasap to ensure that I could proceed properly. Even more, I had problems with my credit card and the assistance recommended me the best way to solve the problem. The car worked perfectly and everything was really OK. Very good professional.

Top company, car was neatly delivered at the airport with the help of a good English speaking man. The car looked beautiful and was delivered with clear information. Finally had no problems with the car. Car returned without problems and delivered back to the airport. Would book here again in a heartbeat, well deserved 5 stars!

After a horrendous experience with Europcar in Madeira, I chose this smaller car rental company picking up at Kefalonia airport in early May 2022. Ioannis and Makais (excuse spelling) were fabulous and restored my faith in humanity. No hard sell to upgrade car or buy more insurance. No unexpected charges three weeks after I had returned. All things I associate with the big car rental companies. Also the price was great. I had a Skoda Fabia which suited our needs well. They pick you up at the airport and drop you off again after returning the car. I would use them again (which is not what I would say about other companies).

I don't know about other rental locations but we had a very good experience with the Thessaloniki depot.
Yes, the car was old and had many paint chips, but it drove well and we had no issues.
On return we said we would return between 12.30 and 12.45 but the manager had gone to the airport at 12.40... we saw him at the lights. This was no problem but we then waited 35 minutes while he dealt with the new people. He should of course have finished with us with a quick drop to the airport as we had a flight to get.
But the return was pain free and nor a microscopic examination!
We would rent again from this location.

We booked two cars. It was 9 of us. Two mini vans arrived to pick us up from the airport. The man in charge stated there wasn't enough room for all of us. We were taken to a plot in the middle of nowhere where a portacabin stood. Both cars we were given were covered in dents and scratches which were indicated as dots on the sheet and I was sent 30 photos highlighting them. The check in process took around half an hour. It was wholly unprofessional. The car barely had any fuel in, one of the back lights was out and the clutch was squeaky. Upon return, the man examined the car under a light and discovered a small superficial black line on the white bumper. He charged me 100 euro for it. We had purchased a waiver. When I challenged him that they charge customers and pocketing the money without repairing the knackered cars, he started shouting and became aggressive. He deliberately slowed the process down and told us he should have kept us hostages at his depot deliberately so as to miss our flight! Scammy, dirty, unprofessional.

Athens Airport car "meet and greet" - taken down a long track to collect car from a scruffy yard with a dangerous, aggressive dog tied on a rope.
Avoid at all cost! Old Nissan Micra: car with creaking clutch and broken tale light; front headlamps virtually useless as lenses frosted and degraded. Shambolic service - unprofessional employees. We should have walked away and used a reputable company. Charged an extra €100.
Dishonest.

The “Meet & Great” service was 20 minutes late despite a phone call.
We were taken across the road to the car park and asked to wait in front of a old Fiat Punto which was in excess of ten years old. We were told to wait with this car, as the boss was busy but would attend to us shortly. After a further 10 minutes, a lady arrived to inform us that the Fiat Punto was, in fact, our car for the duration of our two week stay.

Shocked, we said NO! We had only moments earlier joked about how old & scratched it looked both inside & out. We showed to lady our paperwork for the car, which explained that the car we ordered was a VW Up or similar. This was NOT similar despite several attempts, by the lady in charge, to convince us that it was a similar car. If anything, the car was ancient but not similar.
We asked for a different car as ordered & after a further 5 minutes the lady returned to say they didn’t have one available. The Fiat Punto was covered in bumps, scratches, faded headlights (quite common on a car this old) along with missing interior trim & shabby exterior trim. We rejected the car, despite the lady insisting that, “if it broke down, they would repair it”. This was hardly a ringing endorsement.

I rented a small SUV from them through a international rental car company. Their price, insurance coverage and cancellation policy superseded that of all giants out there. Their representative, Mr Mustapha, was right at the airport once I arrived and the check in was a breeze. I had to change the time of the return to three hours earlier due to an early morning flight check-in. Since it was early morning, I was worried that DiRent’s rep might not come in time and I could struggle with doing the check in time. However as soon I entered the parking lot, there he was; waiting for me. The check out took less than five minutes and Mr Mustapha even sent me the receipt of the return of the deposit the same day! Top class service! Can’t ask for more! Highly recommended!

Recently rented a car from Zakynthos Airport, Greece. Great and friendly service, everything very smooth and fast. The car was in great condition and had more space than we needed. No problems at all. I would absolutely recommend and use them again.

at the end? we needed to rend with another company
