Mixed feelings

Despite having a good quantity of my CD's rejected, I still messaged the company saying I would give them a 5 star review because they were an efficient service. However, they have since locked my account because I have used the service just three times in one year! They didn't inform me that they did this, nor why, until I pressed them. To summarise, this company is generally reliable when it comes to making payments (you can just about trust them), but wholly unprofessional when it comes to customer service - they just seem to make up their own rules as they go along.

Terrible, con artist's!!

These are terrible, nothing short of con artists they give you a price but then only select to acsept a couple of items giving you excuse after excuse why they can not longer take your item, but then refuse to send you them back when you ask them. Don't use!! There is good sights that give far better service and more money for the goods use them, like Ziff!!

Hello Maria and thank you for your comments, we welcome all comments whether they are good or not so good. As mentioned to you on several occasions during our email conversation, our website clearly states the items we accept and the fact that we do not return any items but recycle them responsibly instead. I am really surprised that you have stated we refused to send them back as we did offer a goodwill gesture of sending them back to you but you would need to pick up the courier charge but you refused this goodwill gesture. You are totally entitled to your opinion but i must refute your claims of us being con artists and your claims that we gave excuse after excuse as we actually gave you just one succinct reason for the items being rejected. We also emailed you our T&Cs that are openly available on our site to reiterate the facts that were being offered to you in the email conversation. Thanks again for using Discflipper and once again, we are sorry that the clarity we offered you was not accepted. Regards, Richard

No problems at all.

I tried a different online CD-purchasing company, and they were truly terrible. So far, DiscFlipper has given complete satisfaction. Their Website is easy to use and as I have been selling off parts of my (large!!) collection a bit at a time, in batches of over 25 CDs, I've always had free pick-up. They tell you up-front that damaged CDs or CDs with damaged inlays won't be accepted, and so far I've only had one rejected. The money has always arrived in my Bank within a week of pickup. I will continue to use DiscFlipper until I get my collection under control.

Top Notch

They have been brilliant, fair prices, quick checks and payments, Excellent customer service via email, quick responses and solved the issue we had one time almost instantly. We have a few more discs to send and will be using them for these. Would recommend to anyone.

Selling CDs

After a few hiccoughs, I sold 4 boxes of CDs via DiscFlipper. I'd tried other sites, but this site offered more money for them.

Definitely the one to go for.

The app works very well and the prices offered are far better than another disc buying service I looked at (I'm sure you know which one). The shipping is easy but do make sure you are sent a barcode for the UPS collection otherwise it won't be accepted at the drop off point. Discflipper customer service sorted this out quickly for me after I was turned away from a couple of outlets. Receiving payment via cheque is a slightly quaint and antiquated system when some form of transfer would seem more relevant these days, but that's minor. I only had 2 items rejected out of 120 which was entirely my fault but thought they might have returned those to me when they sent the cheque as it came in a CD size jiffy bag which seemed confusing. All in all though I would definitely recommend.

DiscFlipper Review

I have been using DiscFlipper for a couple of months now to sell on unwanted CD's.I have only sent 6/7 consignments of no more 50/60 CD's at any one time.I then last week told my account was to be disabled due to using them too many times, for a company that states it has over 30 years experience & re-cycle CD's found this absolutely disgusting! I for one will not be recommending DiskFlipper to anyone i know nor would i recommend anyone using them if reading this review. The rude e-mails i received from them when i questioned there decision was also totally unacceptable.

Hi Steve, i am sorry that you deemed the emails you received to be disgusting. I have read through them and i can see there are a few issues with yourself as you were surprised that we had decided to block your account. We pointed out the reasons Steve and i can see this was done in a completely professional manner. I can see one of the points you took issue with was us confirming to you that we do not deal with businesses like yourself as we are a consumer site. I think we were very fair in letting you send so many consignments to us and it is our prerogative to do a review on any account we so wish. Saying all of that, we do welcome ALL feedback and you are perfectly entitled to your opinion although i must say that i am surprised that you saved your one shot at leaving a review until 3 months after your first transaction, it would have been nice to receive some positive notes from you for all the previous transactions that were dealt with in a speedy and professional manner and i can also see you received speedy and prompt payment from us. There seems to be a pattern forming from business traders like yourself who appear to have their noses put out of joint when an account is blocked and i think it is very unfair when you write feedback saying that one of the team are being rude. The info you were given was clear and concise and simply confirmed the information you had been given previously. Thanks again for taking the time to post feedback. Regards, Richard

Hi Jemma and thank you for your feedback. We welcome ALL feedback, even if not favourable to us, thank you for taking the time. I have checked the email conversation you had with customer services. Firstly i can assure you that we are a reputable company and it is most definitely not a scam. I am surprised at your comments regarding a disgusting attitude Jemma as all i can see are notes from the person you spoke to regarding our T&Cs and why the items that were rejected were actually rejected. I can also see that you appeared to be frustrated to say the least and our CS team handled the conversation very professionally. Thank you again for your feedback. Regards, Richard

not bad

positive: i get at least 20p for a CD, even for those that would earn me less on other websites.
negative: too fussy in regards to accepting CDs. I had CDs rejected because their plastic covers were broken. Or CDs that were a little scratched but still performed perfectly.

Hi Emilia and thank you for your positive review and i am sorry you were not totally happy with our service. I was concerned when i read your note about rejections due to broken cases but upon checking i can see that one of the items were a cardboard case which was ripped, all others were accepted unless they were badly scratched. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review Emilia, we welcome all reviews and love the feedback so we can make things better. Regards, Richard

Awful, Awful. Awful

Possibly the worst website and customer service I have ever encountered. Rude staff, take it or leave it attitude and customers have no way of disproving their finding of "badly scratched discs". Bit of anscam to get goods for nothing. Far better to car boot items or sell on eBay. i would never, never use this company again and would not receommend them to anyone.

Hello Lorraine, i am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service. I have read all the emails and i cannot see where any of the team were rude? I can see they pointed to to the T&Cs to offer you clarity and i can see that they reiterated that we do not accept damaged discs, i am sorry you deemed this to be a take it or leave it attitude. Thank you for your feedback, we do welcome all feedback, negative or positive. Regards, Richard

A reliable and trustworthy company to business with.

I've dealt with this company three times now, without hassle or incident. Loading the items that I wished to sell was easy, the pickup of those items was on the day I requested, the communication from Discflipper was excellent and the cheques that I received was sent out,and received, very quickly.
Discflipper are, from my experience,a very reliable and trustworthy company to do business with.

Low Valuation and Rejections Too

I accepted their low valuations as I just wanted to clear some space in the house but then they rejected some discs claiming that they were badly scratched. Since I am always careful with my discs and know that two played perfectly and one was brand new and unplayed I realised that this could not be true. They wanted to charge me £10 to return my discs and could not provide any proof that they were damaged so I ended up with even less money. Use them if you want just be aware, in my experience, that they will reject some discs and you will not get what you are promised.

Hi Andrew and thank you for your feedback. I have copied and pasted part of the conversation with you at the time via email and i have to refute your claims that we did not offer proof of the condition. As per below extract, we send pictures of the said discs. The email also covered the £10 fee and was explained it was a goodwill gesture and merely covered the courier fees to return. Regards, Richard

Unfortunately the discs in question would not be deemed as brand new. I have attached a photo of the ‘American Heroes’ for you to see, and the other 2 discs are in the same condition I’m afraid.

Under our terms and conditions we do not return rejected items, however, as a goodwill gesture we would be prepared to return these via courier if you would like us to.
There would, however, be a charge of £10 for the cost of the courier, I’m afraid.

Easy to use service.

Items collected on correct day. Prompt payment received. However goods not bought were not returned. Did think they would be returned a few days later but nothing received.

Website Improvements/Returns

The website is simple and straight-forward to use - GREAT. It would be massively improved if there was the ability to save an order for a number (7-10 days) to enable you to check/re-check order before sending, and add additional items to).

There is no ability to get Items which have been rejected returned. It is basically the sellers opinion against the websites opinion (no negotiation). This does not happen in court, i.e. one persons opinion against another persons opinion means nothing without proof.

Accurate Valuations, but Sometimes Long Waiting Times

DiscFlipper is great for Customer Service, High Item Values and Courier Collection. The only small issue is that sometimes, you can be waiting a long time from when you send your shipments, to when you receive a cheque. I guess this isn't unique though, I would have thought that the same could be said about Music Magpie, Ziffit and CEX too.

Overall, DiscFlipper is a trustworthy and reputable company, who I will continue to use over companies such as MusicMagpie etc.

Many Thanks DiscFlipper!
