Easy and straight forward

I entered all my items to sell on the appropriate form on DiscFlipper's site. I was told how much I would get for each one. Once I'd approved that, it was just a matter of arranging a pick up date and venue, packing the items and waiting. The collection was made when said and a few days later I received a confirmation email giving me a price, and stating that a few cd's could not be taken due to sleeve condition, and an adjusted price included - fair enough. A couple of weeks later my cheque arrived. No hassle, no problem. My only niggle was that the items they did not want were not returned, but hey, I wanted the room, I will certainly use this company again.

Great slick service!

I had huge box full of CDs which we never listened too. Found Discflipper on Google and literally within 24 hours I had parcelled them up, a delivery driver had collected them from my office and off they went. Payment was made by transfer. Fantastic!

Trustworthy

Sent a great number of discs to Disc Flipper. Parcels were picked up on the arranged day and received email a week later confirming. Only issue was I was expecting a cheque in the post, and a week after receiving my confirmation email I received another one asking for my bank details, but as the payment was in the bank the day after I provided my details, this was only a minor quibble.

Easy to use, slow to send payment.

Only used this company a couple of times. Easy to use website and hassle free courier pick up. Prices for run of the mill titles is a set rate, but more desirable / collectable titles they pay more for (which is good).

Only downside is the slow payment, (still not received any payment for my first consignment) I understand they have lots of orders to go through, but the main objective in my eyes is to get payment to customers quick. That way people will come back again and again.

Maybe Paypal would speed it up?

Overall an average experience.

Good service but annoying

The service was quick and simple.
BUT..big but....won't use again, as I am not happy that the payment is by cheque. Who uses cheques in the C21st???? Now I have to make a special journey to a bank to cash it in. My time is worth more than the cheque. Will use other services like Ziffitt or Magpie who pay into a/c or paypal. Sorry DiscFlipper - I did give you a try but you shocked me with the cheque!
PS A company without a contact number is not helpful.

Response to DiscFlipper's response (as one can't respond below):
As I mentioned above, a phone number would have been useful. Your website does not provide one with options and, I naively assumed that the payment will be electronic. Although I had to redo my scanning a few times as the app didn't save any stored data I should have guessed DF is not very IT savvy. Sorry.
As for emailing you with my bank details, I don't think so!

Hi Joanna and sorry to hear you are unhappy with our payment process, an email from you would have been welcome so we could have put a stop on the cheque had we known this was not a favourable method of payment to you. I am happy to still put a stop on the cheque and pay directly into your bank? Please email us on contactus@discflipper.com if you wish us to do that for you. Regards, Richard....Added info in response to your added info.

Hi again Joanna, I have looked back at an email trail we had where i advised you that i would pass on your comments re telephone number. You mention above "who uses cheques in the 21st century" We prefer to use email correspondence so the conversation leaves a footprint, unlike a telephone conversation that can be misconstrued. I am sorry you have had a difficult experience with us from the start, i recall from your emails that your printer wasn't working and the MOT centre you went to lost its licence and could not do the MOT, i guess these circumstances distracted you when attempting to sell your items to Discflipper, that was certainly the impression i got, i'm not sure it could be passed on as Discflipper not being IT savvy? As per above notes, there is nothing on there asking you to email your bank details? it was an attempt to make things easier for you and i wanted to chat via email rather than on this platform due to you sounding unimpressed but i appreciate you advising me that you do not need any help and you will still be using up your valuable time making a special journey to a bank. Regards, Richard

Totally recommended

Downloading the app and using it to scan cd's was quite relaxing and seeing it all add up to nearly 100.00 was amazing. Excellent service and thank you for my payment

They take stock from you that they have no intention of paying for

While their pick-up and payment process is a lot better than Music Magie, it's far from infrequent for Disc Flipper to accept your barcode scanning app submissions and then refuse to pay for them on grounds of unpublished rules (no mini-albums, no PS1 games). They need to work out a means of getting their barcode app to reject titles they don't want or to at *least* publish something which explains more than "no PC games".

When they're paying approx 20p a unit, it seems a little unfair for them to take discs and not pay for them

Not smooth

Communication was very slow. There is an inflexibility as to when/where boxes can be collected, and the option of using a collection service at a convenience store is not advertised. Emails seem to go missing or unanswered for weeks. In the end the matter was resolved smoothly, but it took a long time. The price offered was fair.
