We are sorry you were disappointed with our price listing. Please allow us to explain.

Ditton Wine & Spirits specialise in premium to super premium wine & whisky. Most companies that sell these products list their prices "under bond" meaning net of UK excise duty, VAT and delivery charges. So do we.

The reason is that the vast majority of our clients are either not in the UK, in which case UK excise duty and VAT don't apply, or they want to take delivery in a bonded warehouse, in which case duty and VAT don't apply either.

Whilst we understand that the "net" price is not the price a client pays when they want to take delivery to their UK home address (in which case UK excise duty, delivery and VAT charges do apply), it would be falsely inflating the price for all those clients that don't take UK home delivery.

We do make an effort to explain this on the website, but unfortunately Google does pick up only one price, which is the net price.

We hope this clarifies. For more reviews, please also have a look at out website.
