I've ordered several games from this company and have recently ordered Pokemon Yellow. It was delivered to my house where, after an hour and a half of playing, found that the save battery in the cartridge was dead. I called DKOldies and spoke with a lady, I regretfully don't remember her name, and she was extremely helpful, friendly, and efficient in determining the problem and sending me a new cartridge with packaging to send the old one back. I am very satisfied in all the interactions I've had with this company and hope to continue shopping with them in the future. Can't recommend them enough!

Have many purchases over the years from DKoldies have always had a great experience. I always receive what I purchased. Prices are a little high but it's worth paying a little more if you know you are getting what you ordered.

In April 2021, I purchased a 'refurbished' Xbox 360 game console for $184.28 from DKO that managed to function for only a brief time before it crapped out for good on June 27, 2024, once I turned on the console again after nearly a 3-year hiatus.

Full disclosure: While I wasn’t using the console, I always kept it in the original box that came with my previous Xbox 360. I also have a Sony PlayStation 2 that I’ve had since 2004 and store it in the same manner in its original box whenever I’ve used it, and it still runs like it did when I first opened the box.

So, I was shocked the DKO console crashed as quickly as it did, based on the short time I had been using it, which I only managed to log a total of 16 hours of game time. Incidentally, my original Xbox 360 which was also refurbished, ran for almost twelve years before the disc tray reader failed. At that time, after I opened my previous console in an attempt to repair it, I noticed there was hardly any dust inside the unit, especially on the cooling blades. Overall, the inside of the cabinet was almost immaculate.

However, the ‘refurbished’ Xbox 360 I received from DKO was quite a different story. When I decided to open the console before I took it to my local electronic recycling center (knowing full well I would never receive anything close to a full refund from DKO due to the expiration of the warranty after it quit running), the difference was astounding.

My original Xbox 360 which I purchased at a GameStop store in 2009, came inside a Microsoft box certified as a refurbished unit. The allegedly ‘refurbished’ unit that was shipped from DKO in a plain unmarked cardboard box, wrapped in bubble wrap, was found to be filthy on the inside of the console, top to bottom after I eventually opened it for a forensic examination when it finally stopped. There were also signs of rust and corrosion on the heat shield and tops of the capacitors due to clear evidence of a liquid that had probably seeped into the motherboard from the top of the cabinet. It was as if someone had used it as a serving tray for drinks. The exhaust fan ports also were blackened with a thick deposit of soot on the inside of the cabinet grill. Lastly, although the cabinet looked much whiter and brighter once the parcel was first opened, it gradually reverted to its yellowed hue as it was probably wiped down with a low-grade cleaning agent before it was shipped to mask its true color, perhaps due to previous exposure to a smoke-filled environment.

Having finally discovered the damage to the capacitors, I was surprised the console ran at all as it was first powered up. It always had a loud whining sound which forced me to turn up the volume of my games to drown out the console noise. As it attempted to run its last DVD, the console only chirped and burped without ever opening the game.

After their ‘refurbished’ console stopped running, and I contacted DKO to explain my dilemma, they wrote, and I quote:

‘Since 2021, we have made a lot of internal changes on our refurbishment processes to prevent issues like these from occurring to others in the future’.

Candidly, I was taken aback by their admission and even more astonished that they put it in writing. Although it had been three years later after my purchase and technically well past the warranty, it still didn’t excuse the circumstances or undue the deed that was done. What was perpetrated was wrong on so many levels. It was unconscionable how easily they took my money and in turn, delivered shoddy merchandise. Had I known during the warranty period that my ‘refurbished’ Xbox 360 would have failed so quickly, I would have played the console constantly until it did, and then promptly returned it demanding a full refund. And although I paid $16 more for my original refurbished GameStop Xbox 360 than I did for the ‘refurbished’ console from DKO, it was worth every penny. I also had my GameStop Xbox 360 console four times longer than my DKO Xbox 360 console which was certainly not a bargain.

To be emphatically clear had any reputable electronics retailer discovered the apparent damage to this Xbox 360 during an alleged refurbishment, this device would have never been resold to anyone. And for all my trouble, the best DKO could seem to offer was a $10.00 store credit after I was hosed for a faulty console that I dreaded would fail at any moment I installed another game DVD. How pathetically shameful and utterly insulting.

It says on DKO’s webpage that ‘DKOldies Is Not Your Typical Online Store’. I would submit that’s highly debatable and they more than proved my point by denying my request for a full and unconditional refund based on the extenuating circumstances, regardless of the warranty.

Recently, I purchased a Nintendo 64 Atomic Purple controller from DKOLDIES and was horrified when I opened it. Both the cord and the joysticks were bent and there was sticky stuff between some buttons which made it harder to press them. This controller turned playing Super Mario 64 into a NIGHTMARE. Will not buy from this store again.

Customer service is amazing. I bought an Xbox 360. It arrived and was great. It did have an issue loading games. I Emailed DKOldies only asking if this was normal.
Without delay, they apologized and immediately sent a replacement. The replacement is great. I have not seen this high level of customer service in a long time.
I definitely recommend DKOldies for any retro game purchase you need.

I recently bought RoboCop 2 for the NES from DK oldies. There were other websites that had it. eBay stuff like that. They were all expensive. Every single person that had a copy of it it was expensive. The only people that were selling it were the game wasn't expensive. I had no way of knowing if it was real. I had no way of knowing if it was refurbished clean or if it worked. I ordered it from DK oldies received it extremely fast. I was actually very surprised how fast I got it opened it. It was in beautiful condition. It's going to go great on my collection and plugged it into the old school Nintendo. It worked beautifully couldn't be happier. I will definitely be making other purchases from DK oldies. It's just unfortunately at this stage in my collection games that I'm looking for a lot of people don't have them but I will be purchasing from dk oldies again very happy with the way they do things

Recently, I purchased a refurbished PS3 system from DK Oldies and I must say, the quality exceeded my expectations. The console arrived in a condition that was impressively clean, looking almost as good as new. It has been functioning perfectly, with no issues to speak of, providing an excellent gaming experience. The reliability of this refurbished unit has been remarkable, and it’s clear that DK Oldies takes great care in restoring their products to a high standard. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend DK Oldies to anyone looking for quality refurbished gaming systems.

I have made several purchases from DKOldies. PS2 (Fat) Xbox 360 (R2D2 edition) Wii U, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo 64, & Several Games (Too bad they didn't film any of my orders :) ). The systems all looked great, even the acceptable condition Wii U. The Disc games I purchased look brand new, and the cartridge games look good & work well. I had a couple of issues with the Wii U and some aftermarket PS2 controllers they sent me, But customer Service was quick to remedy the situation. I know when it comes to getting authentic games & great playable consoles DkOldies is the place to shop

Amazing customer service. I purchased an N64 that did not work properly (expected with a ~30 year old system). Instead of having me send back the system, wait until it arrives, and send me a replacement, customer service immediately sent me a replacement system with prepaid postage to return the old system.

fantastic customer service! while it's a bummer i had a defective product, they replied to my email within an hour and had already sent out a new system to replace the old one. zero hassle, polite, incredibly easy. i went out of my way to find somewhere to leave a positive review, because getting customer service like that is rare.

compare that to a clothing company i'm trying to get a refund from right now who told me essentially i was wrong about their clothes being bad quality.

I always get what I order or like when I got a Gears Of War game they gave me some GOW stickers.

Wii Game master

Decided to give DKOldies a shot despite all the negative comments and order an N64 through them plus a few games.

The N64 was shipped one week late (was suppose to be 2 day shipping) and I just recently found out that, despite the refurbished / fully tested claims and paperwork, the memory jumper pack is not recognized by the console.

Also, after a few months of purchasing games through local stores and other online shops, I noticed that all the games I've purchased through DKOldies were 30$ to 50$ above market price.

I received some of my games from you guys today. I've seen some negative comments and such regarding your company, but I just wanted to thank you all and let you know how awesome of a job you all did and how good everything is. The games I wanted were reasonably priced and they showed up packaged with care and in good working condition. The nostalgia I've felt today playing some of the games I played as a kid has been awesome. Thank you guys for helping me relive the nostalgia and I will definitely be buying from you all again!
