I love our local Dobbies garden centre in Andover for its plants, but the sloping outside is a pain as it’s hard to control the trolly. Speaking of trollies they could all do with replacing as they are rusty and dirty and there is nothing to even sanitise them now ☹️
The plants are well cared for and I always spot an offer or a bargain.

Had am email saying Clematis was half price. Disappointed as they didn't have any. However staff were very helpful when asked.
We love Dobbies
We love Dobbies, staff are extremely friendly, the cafe is amazing and so much products to choose and compare. Very family friendly and highly recommend. It's a very popular place and the cafe can get very busy (only because the staff, food and drinks are awesome). I hope the people who run the cafe in Dobbies hire more staff to help keep up with the demand.

No doubt the Dobbies Garden centre is very good but there is always a room to improve. Like the price, which I believe is mostly over priced.

Helpful staff and lots of variety in one place. Prices can be on the higher side, but it’s easy to shop and find what you are looking for. Layout is user friendly and cafe is nice.
Call yourselves sustainable?
Several weeks ago I visited my local Dobbies and was appalled at the waste of water coming from a timed flow tap in the ladies toilet. I mentioned it to staff. Today I visited the store again and to my horror the water was still gushing from the same tap. On mentioning it to a member of staff I was told the manager knows and when querying why he could not fix it, I was told “Well that’s management for you”. It’s just laughable that you call yourselves a sustainable company with good water management.

Friendly and welcoming
Dobbies - Andover has a welcoming atmosphere, an excellent choice of products, and friendly and knowledgeable staff who will go out of their way to be of service. This is my favourite place visit, whenever I have a spare moment.
Had a good breakfast
Had a good breakfast, bought some plants we wanted, and the manager was kind enough to help us load our car with bags of manure.
Clean store. Helpful staff
Lovely clean store. Plenty to see and had lovely lunch. Cafe staff very obliging and lovely smiley people
I really do like the garden centre
I really do like the garden centre. The only things I would pick at were some of the prices and the fact that the resteraunt has cut half of the menu. I wanted some plant pots but didn't realise the bottoms are sold seperately. Other than that i will still shop there as it is good overall. I still recommend it.

Fruitless search!
I went to look specifically for large plastic garden trays with transparent propagator covers and there was nothing like that there. Perhaps they aren’t being made any more? I have bought them from Andover Garden Centre in the past, when it was Wyevale. Slightly disappointing.

Frost damaged vegetables at andover garden centre.
I visited today 4th April.
I wanted some ridge cucumbers for my allotment, but every plant was frost damaged.
Do your staff not understand that tender vegetables require overnight protection?
I wonder how many gullible customers have bought these plants which are destined for failure.
How do you justify offering these damaged plants for sale.

Ridiculously poor horticulture. No roots on the tree, so tree will die
I bought a “myhomegrownfruit” pear tree in a large pot from Andover. However the tree was not grown in the pot, and had recently been cut from the ground, but there was no rootball at all. The compost simply fell away, leaving one or two thick roots which had been cut through to make it fit in the pot. Horticulturally, the tree might only survive when it wakes from dormancy if it is attached to a permanent water supply, as it would be in Dobbies, but not in anyone’s garden. Strangely, I bought an apple tree from the same supplier (myhomegrownfruit) a few weeks ago from Debbie’s and it had a rootball fitting the pot. I have planted some 50 different trees in the last 3 years. This tree is of unacceptable standard.
