Avoid the cafe, not great selection of food, £14 for pie and mash and a drink. Not the prices you expect to pay in this sort of place.for under average food, slow service and no knives as cutlery was still being washed. Staff just seem to disappear and leave a queue of ppl standing waiting to be served in the cafe,

The toilets were stinking . They only get cleaned once in the morning. I couldn't even use the toilets because of the smell. I was nearly sick

Love walking around Dobbies, store well laid out .We love the cream scone deal that is what usually brings us on a Sunday afternoon. Great place spend some time at.Usually buy something.
Dobbies is large. It has a large stock indeed, but is 'cold' in terms of ambience. The staff were pleasant, however.
In terms of disappointment, the main thing was that, having run out of sunflower hearts, I had to buy some to tide me over. PREMIUM pricing (?) ... they were 5 - 6.5 times the price of a local independent supplier (depending on quantity bought). I bought a 900kg bag and felt cheated.
The weird thing is that their large bags bear the RSPB logo ... doesn't help the RSPB!

Easy parking and wide range of products - staff are extremely helpful when I was trying to locate a Christmas bird ornament. We eventually found a second bird.
Festive failure
We prebooked Festive Afternoon Tea for 7 adults, 2 children and a baby and our allocated slot was 1pm. We arrived early as advised to be told that the restaurant staff dont start work until 1pm. We were shown to a table that was not set ready for us and a highchair was provided for the baby but we could not use it because it was so dirty with caked in food on the seat, tray and around the whole chair.
A staff member came to our table after ten minutes and asked what we would like to drink. After another ten minutes one afternoon tea was brought to the table - and I was appalled at the way that the sandwiches were served. They looked like they had been thrown together by a child with filling spilling out of the badly cut bread.
I spoke to the restaurant manager who told me he was short staffed and trying his best - he was very flustered and made my daughters feel very uncomfortable as he was not coping well with the situation.
A few more minutes went by and another two stands came out but by 1.30 we still had not received the childrens afternoon teas. We had their visit to Santa booked for 2pm and when my daughter asked if they could visit a little later because the children hadnt eaten she was told that Santa was fully booked and they would have to retain the booked slot.
The quality of the food was not good - I have already mentioned the sandwiches. The scones were reasonable and served with pots of jam, no butter and I had to ask for cream.
The sweet offerings were the worst I have had on any afternoon tea, dry tastless maccarons, dried out brownie, cheap type mince pies, 1 mini cheesecake which seemed to melt so must have been frozen.
The restaurant manager was apologetic about the delay in service but the whole experience felt embarrasing, flustered and a total waste of money.
I will never be back and would not recommend to anyone.

Oh dear, how disappointing. We went to an Event for Teenage Cancer Trust in the Lisburn Store. We have attended these before. We were very disappointed at the lack of effort and the knock on effect this will have on the Charity itself. It was just a late night opening with a glass of wine as the “difference”. Not a sweet or a piece of shortbread was offered, so bah humbug to that. We missed the florist that would have given dynamic and inspiring talks, the various individual singers that gave that special event feel. No talks from plant advisors, which we had always enjoyed. Instead there were two girls in elf costumes, presumably to help Santa drum up a crowd. There were no apparent Christmas deals. If it is on next year, we will not bother buying a ticket or attending.

2.30 pm on a Friday , No soup! Took 15 mins to get someone to attend to us..settled for a toasted sandwich each , Luke warm.. desserts were meringue and a custard little pie , meringue looked like 2 nests creamed together … shortcake on pie was super rock hard … area of tables unclean … Toilets oh my word ! An awful ‘used’ smell … don’t think had been cleaned in a long time … sinks , hairs and dirt … I counted 6 air fresh sticks sat around the place ( probably thought this would mask the smell) 1st visit WONT be back ….

I visited your Lisburn store on 29th October and once again i got excellent customer service from Stephen, a real horticultural expert. He is always so helpful and full of advice. My husband and I have learnt so much from him. He is so willing to help and nothing is a bother to him. Dobbies is very lucky to have him, he really is an asset to your company and I hope his efforts are recognized.
SIMPLY ENJOYED THE ATMOSPHERE, THE FOOD AND THE SHOPPING.
The staff are always so helpful and knowledgeable and give great advice.
ALWAYS finish with trip to restaurant 😋 food and staff fabulous always willing to meet anyone's requirements.
I found the staff very helpful.
I was able to get the item I wanted
Plants and sale goods good. Would prefer prices on the plants and other saleable goods. Restaurant has little choice, you sell crackers but no cheese. Restaurant chairs very hard, only 2 tables with soft seats.
