good visit
Plants looked very healthy and lots at reduced prices that also seemed good quality. Cafe - good service and nice and clean. All very good
Everyone very helpful

Called into the Garden Centre, lovely plants and gifts etc.We were not impressed with the Coffee shop,we wanted poached egg on toast, was told couldn’t have it as they didn’t have a saucepan To cook them in ! We ordered toast which was only toasted one side, won’t be calling in there again !
Mostly disappointed with Dobbies
Mostly disappointed with Dobbies. There are always quite a few plants in need of attention. The roses do not get deadheaded, probably due to lack of staff. Hardly ever get tempted to buy anything unless there is 50% off etc. Prices are pretty high too. The cafe/restaurant is pretty poor too. Hardly any choice and hardly any staff to man it. Sorry about this, but you asked!
Recycling.
I was disappointed that the cafe had to close early because of shortage of staff, luckily I was able to buy a cold drink from the main garden centre.
I was very pleased to be able to recycle my plastic pots that I no longer needed.... this is a very good service.
Hmm. Another failure.
Hmm, we're long term paying mambers of the "club" so we went into Dobbies about 4pm for this month's "free" coffee.
"Oh, no" we were told. We can only do tea. We've already turned the coffee machine off...
Well, as someone who is entitled to these coffees and appears to have had a number of vouchers (issued because they couldn't provide it during Covid) apparently just cancelled without notice, I think I'll stop any future paid membership and go elsewhere for my garden needs...
Not good.
We were pleased with our visit
We were pleased with our visit, happy with the selection of bulbs and plants, unfortunately through no fault of Dobies we couldn’t get our usual Fish and chips.
There are several positives to visiting…
There are several positives to visiting Dobbies and the first is the ease of parking and the second is the space and shops within the overall shop. I like to see the current plants available and this visit I bought a try of pansies , on special, and they are doing well in my garden. I am not keen on carrying a wire basket around the shop so I took the plastic tray in my hands and I thought it would have be useful to have paid for the plants before I ventured into the shop building. If I had been able to scan the tray and pay for it and then pick it up at the end of my visit I may have stayed longer and had more of a look around. Thanks you Prue Nixon
Unexpected shopping trip
Unexpectedly really enjoyed our visit. We had gone along for some doggy treats but ended up buying some beautiful plants and some accessories and to top it all ate a really delicious lunch served by some very polite servers. Excellent!
Arriving
Arriving, not one member of staff were wearing face masks but we were and so were most customers. When I needed help, could not find anyone to help me, some internal work was being done and none of them were wearing masks. Two of the hand sanitizers were not working. We have lived in Melbourn for over 40 years and used this garden centre over the different changes but your prices are high and not at all impressed with the changes you have made.

kitchen Woes at Dobbies
Went into the restaurant for a coffee and a meal only to be told that the kitchen was not operating and there were only cakes and biscuits available. This was not too much of a problem but on asking why the kitchen was closed we were informed that it was due to lack of staff. No disrespect to the staff that were on duty and doing their best to keep things going ( very good service by the way ) but what a bad way to run a restaurant that is one of the essential parts of a Garden centre these days. Also no notice to say that the kitchen was closed leaving the staff to have to explain to disgruntled customers and face the frustration from users. Come on Dobbies you can and should do much better.
Whilst I know my way around
Whilst I know my way around, if I do need help I can usually find a member of staff near by to answer my query, and they are always polite.

I visited the garden centre on a Sunday, very helpful staff member told me about the Dobbies card, I signed up straight away great value for money, came back on the Monday, brought an egg chair, on assembling it the zip on the cushion was broken, I took it back to the garden centre, I was seen straight away, and the cushion was replaced straight away, 5 star service, thank you
Jez is brilliant
The staff at the cafe/restaurant are very helpful and friendly. Jez (who I assume is the Manager) was extremely concerned, kind and helpful when my friend became very agitated because her credit card was declined. Five stars for Jez, and the food was nice too !!!
Very helpful and friendly
Very helpful and friendly. In the cafeteria. Enjoyed the food.
Very helpful staff
Very helpful staff, great choice of products and well stocked. Only slight disappointment was a garden umbrella that was displayed in store wasn't in stock and no delivery time could be guaranteed. Otherwise, an excellent garden centre.
