After I sadly noticed that nextbike/ meteopolrad has shut down I am very happy that some other company continues. Thought I have to catch a bus or
Scooter to continue from the train station, but I just found a well working bik

I used the app is amsterdam for a full day ride. It was very simple to use.

It rides like a manual bike probably worse because it's so heavy ....there's barely any power going to the wheels. An electric bike that's harder to ride than a manual bike. Other than that in terms of price and their infrastructure(finding bikes/Durability and ease of change and reporting )it's fine better than the competition the bikes just suuuuuuck.

In Copenhagen. Great to see the city on a bike! Bikes are simple to rent. Also multiple bikes on one account.

Unexpected €40 relocation fee – unclear warning for first-time user
I used Donkey Republic for the first time in Amsterdam as an international student. I parked the bike in a public bicycle parking area, which I believed was a normal and acceptable place to end the ride, as this is common with other bike-sharing services in the Netherlands.
After ending the ride, I was charged a €40 relocation fee.
I did not intentionally violate any rules and I do not recall receiving or clearly acknowledging any in-app warning that this specific parking location would result in an additional €40 charge.
I contacted support and explained the situation, including that this was my first time using the service and that I parked the bike responsibly. Unfortunately, the fee was still upheld.
My concern is mainly about clarity and user understanding. For first-time users, especially international students unfamiliar with the system, the difference between “public bike parking” and “valid drop-off hub” is not clearly communicated.
While I understand policies exist, I believe clearer warnings and more explicit guidance in the app would prevent situations like this.
I hope Donkey Republic considers improving in-app communication so that future users are not surprised by unexpected relocation fees.

Was Nice to have a cheap bike rental service for the day. Thanks!

No matter in which parking lot you leave the bike they will charge you a relocation feed even though they don’t relocate the bikes (they charge me twice and i was using the bike, so they definitely didn’t relocated them)

We found bikes next to the station. Unfortunately just one e-bike which we booked first. After that we couldn’t book a ‚normal‘ bike as all bikes had to be the same. Found another e-bike two streets further down.
I got a discount which I wanted to fill in at the checkout (like stated in the mail) - but there was no option.
Still a good idea to get around a city. Recommend it anyways.

Wow. As an American wanting to ride daily, I didnt know about Donkey Republic til getting to Amsterdam. Seems natives (who own tons of bikes) arent that familiar with it so hope this helps. 33 euros for 3 days. Great deal!

Charge me extra 25€ for nothing, I just waiting for support reply a long time, customer service is bad, look like scam charge

I was in a hurry because I missed my train. Because there were donkey bikes nearby I could use their services. I made a mistake and accidentally hired a bike that I couldn't find... Because of the nice customer services I got a refund, even though I was scared of getting a fine. Bike ride was nice! Hiring and leaving the bike at another spot was also very easy!
