Very poor quality product

Very poor quality product, the wheels bracket snap like a piece of chips, brand new table already 3 of them gone, selling on Amazon for £30 each. Reading the reviews below I am appalled to hear that they do not give a dam and do not want to take responsibility and or improve the quality of the product or service. Next destinations trading standards.

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service – completely brushed off over faulty table tennis table

I bought a Donnay table tennis table from Sports Direct in December 2024 as a Christmas gift for my children. After very limited indoor use, several parts broke — clearly due to poor build quality and flimsy materials.

I contacted customer service with detailed photos and a clear explanation. Despite this, I’ve been repeatedly brushed off via email, with Sports Direct refusing to take responsibility. First, they claimed it wasn’t a manufacturing fault. Then, they told me I’d have to pay out of my own pocket just to return the table for them to inspect it. Eventually, they even contradicted themselves by saying it was “wear and tear and a manufacturing fault” — yet still wouldn’t help.

Even though I’m only slightly beyond the 6-month window, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still applies — but they’ve made no effort to fairly resolve this. Instead, they’ve relied on delay tactics, vague wording, and zero accountability.

What’s worse is that other customers have reported the same issues — broken parts, poor durability, and shoddy design. Reviews confirm this table is not fit for purpose, yet Sports Direct continues to sell it without warning buyers.

I will be taking this further through Trading Standards and Small Claims Court. I strongly urge others to avoid both Donnay-branded products and Sports Direct if you expect any level of customer service or product reliability.

Good choice

I have never had any problems with delivery, fast delivery time and good quality of goods. Good communication in emails. Website is easy to navigate and quite a good selection of products. Time to time coming really good discounts. Several years using it and happy with that

Avoid like the plague.

Short Version: Don't waste your time or money.
This is about a table tennis table costing several hundred pounds, supplied by Donnay, who are owned by Frasers Group. If the name Mike Ashley (Frasers, Sports Direct etc etc ad nauseam) rings any bells, what you read here won't be a surprise.
We ordered a table tennis table for Christmas. When assembling it we noticed one of the corner brackets holding two edges together was broken. We contacted Donnay (in itself a very difficult process, designed to discourage contact - just try calling any of the 20ish numbers on the various links, no one picks up and the 'customer links' take you round in endless circles). When after several days we found a way to make contact we were asked to re-package the entire table and send it back to the factory, to be done by us, at our cost - they won't collect. This is for a bracket half an inch square, but a vital component, for which we provided a photograph. When we persisted and said all we wanted was the bracket, the office moved from disinterested, to rude, to aggressive "wotcher wan' me to do 'bout it?". Everything is designed to brush you off - they have your money and don't care.
Avoid this company like the plague. If I could give a negative number review out of ten, it would be in the minus six-hundreds.
