To be clear, we used a company called Fastclear ltd near Oxford. The company is registered near to Brackley where we live. Fastclear Bristol is a sub company.
If you put your head in the mouth of a shark you will know all the teeth point forward, you cannot pull back. This company will entice you in with a no call out half hour costing. I had no more than 7 meters of blocked drain. £100 per half hour was quoted and the only time I could get them to submit a price. Eventually they turn up the next day. My girlfriend on her own.The drain cover comes up. Before anything is done they declare it's blocked with grease and fat and it's another £300+vat. "What", okay we will do it for £150. She calls me. I am a 59 year building worker. We burn through another 1/2 hour trying to get him to explain his logic and get a TOTAL cost. Out landlord is called; a hard nosed farmer. He gives the go ahead. They leave an hour later after we paid £1118. No breakdown of how they arrived at this cost. You must pay before they leave. Once they are there you cannot go backwards only forward into an unknown cost. It is well rehearsed and you will know you are being scammed but you cannot do anything but wriggle further down it's throat. DO NOT engage the services of this company or you WILL be scammed.
This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. The engineer told me they only ever plung or use the machine, which will charge an extra fee. On quote call, despite I told them I’ve plunged and didn’t work, they didn’t tell me the machine is a “must” but still say “if needed”. I find they try to trap us with a cheap initial quote and only offer the most expensive method later so they can charge more. They only spent two minutes on site and still charge me for a full half an hour rate. I don’t know how professional they are but I wouldn’t recommend this company to any one.
