Honest and cost effective company near Bristol airport. Both the pick-up and the drop-off were spotless. staff is kind. the car was also quite good with only minor stain to the upholstery but for the price unbeatable. I will use them again.

I'm writing this review as a warning to others. I booked the car through VIP Cars. I've hired cars with other companies before and I recall that because I don't use the PIN on my credit card - I only ever use it for online purchases and so I've long forgotten the PIN number - they were able to do a transaction that sent me a OTP to my phone and we got the car booked out on my credit card this way. Drivalia though said no, they absolutely could not do that, and they also absolutely could not book the car out on a debit card either unless I paid for what is very expensive daily insurance. In the end I had little choice, either catch a bus with luggage and try to sort out a hire car elsewhere or just pay up. The fee ended up over double the price of the online reservation price. I know they have a policy that says your have to present a credit card, but to refuse any method of using the credit other than the PIN seemed petty considering I've been able to use it elsewhere before and so it just felt like a method to get me to pay for their overpriced excess insurance.
If you have any doubt about how this company deals with issues have a look at the copy and paste reply to each and every 1 star review on here. They never responded to my simple request for a copy of the hire agreement to be issued to me. In the phone they told me it was available on their website when I log in, it wasn't, so I messaged them on their online system and never heard a thing from them. Like others have said, I tried them, but I'll stick to the reputable companies in future.

Had to extend car hire at Bristol airport on Sunday 22nd June and add a driver. The gentleman at the desk couldn’t have been more helpful and polite. Very good service well done

Amir was fantastic!
First time using Drivalia and I would highly recommend. Check in and return process was exceptional. Amir was very attentive, friendly and very accommodating when I needed to return slightly later than planned.
The car itself was clean and a good standard.
Thank you for the great service.

The guy called Amir at the Bristol air port branch was the rudest person I've met in a long time. To be frank he was a liar, he tried to con another £25 a day for our 10 day hire on top of the near £700 rental agreement just because we were 3/4 of an hour late to pick up the car we had already paid for (despite us ringing him and emailing him to let them know we were running late). An absolute con. Avoid at all costs. We ended up not being given our hire car despite paying for it a second time. We managed after 2 hours of listening to lies to get our money back when he was threatening with us calling the police. Again avoid this liar at all costs.

AVOID. They failed to explain all the details clearly and due to an issue with my credit card I ended up being forced to pay an additional sum of over £200 to get the car in order to get to an important meeting. They advertise low prices but they end up the same as others with better service.
On returning the car they listed a parcel shelf at £250 as damaged after we left the compound. We didnt touch it at all. AVOID.
EDIT. I received an email saying that the £250 charge for the parcel shelf was a mistake on their part. Had I not raised the issue I doubt the "mistake" would have come to light. Still wouldnt use them again as the overall experience falls well short of whats expected

Simon and his team were superb! My flight was delayed and they attended to me after hours, amazing service!
They were able to upgrade the car I booked which was also a massive help!
We would definitely use Drivalia again and certainly recommend extremely highly!

1. Shuttle transport? No. They do not have this service even though the broker promised me this service (Carjet)
2. They do not track the flights or do not know how to. They rang me when I was in baggage reclaim to tell me they were calling me a no-show and that I was due at 3:30. I responded, but that was my take off time, we left on time and I have arrived on time. He shouted at me for being late.
3. The staff are rude, probably thick or missed the training day
4. They do not recognise the insurance we bought from the broker as being adequate and wanted to charge me £500 for their insurance (2 weeks cover)
5. I will never use Carjet or Drivalia ever again even if my life depended on it
It started bad and just got worse.

I booked a Fiat 500 as I was on my own and doing urban driving and Devon lanes. When I arrived at the Drivalia depot I was told I was getting a 9 seater minibus. I said I really didn't want it but was told in a very off hand way that it was either that or nothing or I could walk all the way back to the airport and take the shuttle bus to the Silver Zone and see if another company might be able to get me a car. I had appointments so just couldn't take the time and risk not getting another car (which I had fully paid for). I was also told that I would have to pay £1,500 on my credit card which would be refunded after a month or pay £35 which covered the same thing but not refundable. I opted for this as a month is a long time to have money outstanding. The man behind the counter was unprofessional - scruffy and not particularly helpful or polite - and the vehicle wasn't fully cleaned inside and I found someone else's hair ties on the floor. The fuel gauge was just over 3/4 full and I was warned not to bring it back with any less. On your own it's quite hard to judge as you can't see the tank gauge on the dashboard so I overfilled and am annoyed I gave them about £20 extra fuel. The Renault Traffic itself was quite nice to drive BUT absolutely huge. This affected my day because parking was so difficult. I was just so relieved to get it back to the depot. In itself this is just a scruffy yard and it all feels pretty down market. In the past I have used Europcar at the Silver zone and have never had a problem in a dozen hires. They are efficient, professional and I always get the vehicle I want or an equivalent size. My advice is to stick to the proper rental places in the Silver zone and avoid this one. Not happy at all.

I have used Drivalia for the past couple of years when I come to Bristol as I live in Spain. I am a 76 year old woman, who lives in Spain and Drivalia has no restrictions on my age, which is great as most car hire companies have a restriction age of 75yrs. The Manager Simon could not have been more helpful, picking me up from the airport and taking me back on my return, even though there are major works going on in the airport. Their service is excellent and every time I come to Bristol from Spain to visit my family, I do not hesitate to Hire a Car from Simon, the Manager at Drivalia Bristol Airport.

Spent an hour waiting for our car. There was an issue for every single person in the queue. The man behind the desk was quite possibly one of the most rude, surly and unpleasant people I've ever encountered in a customer service environment.
