So I booked a car for one day through booking.com, got there with all the documents needed and their manager Hamza didn’t want to let me the car, for the reason that I’m living for more than 3 years in the UK and I require an UK drivers license to rent and also that I don’t have stamps on my passport. I’ve told him to check my passport and drivers license which had been issued in my country on march this year (which makes me a resident of that country), also the plane tickets when I arrived and when I was about to leave, nonetheless he didn’t care about that. I’ve confronted him and asked him to point me out where any of this says in our agreement, and guess what he wasn’t able to find anything regarding this. So wasted my time and money to get to the picking point to get refused by a guy in crocs. Tell me now was I treated fair?

Tanveer was efficient from the start—he answered all my questions clearly and ensured I had the vehicle in no time. The pick-up process was quick and professional, and drop-off was just as smooth. I highly recommend Drivalia to anyone in need of a rental vehicle. Will definitely use them again.

I booked a car from the Canary Wharf branch to go from Greenwich to Birmingham for my son's wedding. The car I booked was a Honda CRV but when I arrived at the office it was changed to a Peugeot 3008 which I accepted
Drove to Birmingham but as we were 1 mile from the venue the oil warning light came on & the car went into limp mode. I pulled over, called the branch then called the recovery. The recovery would not arrive for two hours by which time the wedding ceremony would be over. I arranged with the recovery to collect the key from me at the wedding reception so I would not miss the main part which they did
When the recovery arrived at the car, the mechanic said that it had no oil & very low water. We had been extremely lucky to have not had a serious problem on the motorway
We were then advised by both the mechanic & an agent called Margaret at the head office & also the agent in the Canary Wharf office to leave the key with the mechanic & go directly to the Birmingham branch office at the airport to pick up a replacement
We left the key with the mechanic & made our way to the airport office which was an hour away from the wedding venue and when we arrived at the airport office they said they could not release the car until the broken down car had come back which was not what we had been told by the agents & the mechanic
I missed the photographs & the speeches whilst trying to sort out a rental car all because Drivalia do not check their cars & give dangerous & unroadworthy vehicles to customers to take onto the road.

Terrible customer service, extremely rude and unprofessional.

Picked up the dirtiest car. There were used socks in the door and mud everywhere. Good thing we only needed for a couple of days, but it was really off putting. I emailed them about it and all they could do was offer me a discount next time I used them which I rejected and they haven’t got back to me.
The pick up process was quite long as well, and they asked me for proof of address which wasn’t in the pick up instructions so overall took about 30-40 mins.

From the moment I entered the man behind the booth, Mohammed, was complaining on the phone about having to work unexpectedly as several customers waited to be served. When the gentleman in front of me did not have any proof of residency, an apparent requirement for the rental, he
Mohammed moved forward with the process and gave him the car without a fuss. I did not come with any proof of residency either as my rental voucher only stated that I needed my license and the voucher. When I told Mohammed that I didn't have any proof of residency on me, he said this was a problem. When I pointed out this inconsistency, he accused me of being patronising and condescending! He wouldn't stop going on about it and although it had no merit and was entirely inappropriate I apologised just to get on with the car hire. This disgruntled employee had a go at me because he was unhappy to be working late. Well, that's not my problem and it's a shame that in the one face-to-face interaction with the business I was mistreated. Someone should explain to Mohammed that it's inappropriate to complain about your job to customers whilst keeping them waiting and that challenging an inconsistent application of policy (or that's not in line with documentation requirements) laid out by third parties your company does business with, is not being rude or condescending but rather a rightful place for challenging the way a business is conducting itself.

the morning of Saturday 12th of July 2025, we went to the Canary wharf branch of Drivalia.
We had made our booking approximately one week in advance and even called the office on the day before to discuss another issue (where they could have informed us about the situation).
When we arrived at the office they told us there were no cars and that they had tried to call us at 4pm the day before. No calls were made. They said they had sent an email at the same time, again I have received no such email.
On the booking app the rental looked like it was going ahead, nothing about it being cancelled.
After we asked for it, We were offered a car one hour public transport away. It didn't come as an initiative from the Employee, we had to ask for it.
This lost us in total 3 hours of our holiday and (including the driving from Fulham as we had to go through all of London to the east coast).
We were offered a vehicle upgrade the next time we booked, which is ridiculous as you very often get them for free. Mohammed whom I think is the manager, didn’t respond with professionalism either when we raised this case the day after.
Avoid Drivalia Canary wharf!
