Hey thereMy Frustration with DSTV: Time to Switch to Better Streaming Options

I've been a DSTV customer for quite a while, and I can't help but feel disappointed by the whole experience. From their customer support to their online portal and the bang for your buck, DSTV is falling behind. In light of the awesome streaming choices available these days, I'm here to suggest that you start exploring other options, some of which even come with sports content.

Customer Support Letdown:
DSTV's customer support? Well, it's a bit of a mess, to be honest. Getting through to them feels like a marathon, with never-ending wait times and not-so-helpful answers. Whether you've got a tech issue, billing problem, or just a question, expect delays and not-so-great solutions. It's frustrating when you're shelling out your hard-earned cash for a service that doesn't seem to care about its customers.

Online Portal Blues:
Their online portal? Yikes! It's like a trip back in time to the dial-up internet days. Slow, clunky, and not very user-friendly. Trying to find anything on their website or mobile app is a workout in patience. We're in an era where sleek and easy-to-use interfaces are the norm, but DSTV's online presence is stuck in the past.

Not Worth the Price:
Here's the kicker – DSTV doesn't really give you much bang for your buck. Their subscription plans aren't exactly budget-friendly, and even then, they don't always include all the channels or content you'd expect. hacked account

My name is Thabo from Bloemfontein. My account was hacked (someone added a new account to my name). I reported the matter at RF-Technologies (dstv shop) in Bloemfontein. I was assisted by KEL. He was sympathetic to my cause; he was caring enough to ensure that I get all the help I need before leaving the store. He deserves a 5-star rating. Thanks RF -Technologies and KEL.

Never in my lifetime have i received…

Never in my lifetime have i received such bad services from DSTV. I have reconnected my service with then 16 September 2023 after a battle to 0ay DSTV help money was paid money Has still not been allocated I have to pay reconnection fees everytime for a mistake and stuff up DSTV made I have to phone every second to 3rd day to get my services reconnected, who is going to pay my telephone account.
All i got from the call centre agent and managers are empty promises.

Today i was told that it was send to the reconciliation department takes 24 to 48 hours to sort out but they have been saying that since the 16 September 2023 so if I calculate from 16 September to 11 October it is 25 days so somewhere someone cleary does not know the different 25 days and 24-48 hours.

Just joined Dstv stream ,Shocking service
paid on Dstv app via Credit card , a week later disconnected us " no payment " when we sent proof of payment , had to speak to 4 or 5 consultants , who kept puttting us on hold and couldnt deal with the issue ...we spent about R300 worth of airtime and problem is still not resolved .We will be unsubscribing, they actually deserve no stars

DStv internet disappointment

I enquired about DStv internet through the chat channel but didn't continue when asked for consent to check my credit status knowing very well that I'm blacklisted. After a week got a call from DStv asking if I received the router. The router was activated on Tuesday by Saturday morning the data was used up. No one is using it during the day. I sent email to cancel an agent called but she was incompetent can't even tell when was it activated but insist that is 8 days so I have to pay for router. It's 4 days now still waiting for her supervisor to call me

That dstv stream app is nonsensical. The previous app was working fine and this one is just keep on hanging. I could use my phone while stream now I can't even use the phone with this nonsensical app. I even cancel my package

DSTV has been a nightmare for me.

DSTV has been a nightmare for me.
I am currently on premium & paying for PVR functions but of late, the PVR functions are not working and the technician are working on it, it has been 3-2 weeks. What are we paying for if the functionalities aren’t working.

& also they say that you can stream live on one device but when you use a smart TV, their system always kick us out & give us some code & then you follow the instructions, you are not able to remove that message & it result in one having to call their line. Where sometime you get a consult that ask you why you need to stream live.

This all is unacceptable

Bad customer service and incompetent staff

Dstv is really gone to the dogs. I have upgraded my package for 129.00 to compact at 449,00.dstv has debited me at 1239.00 by adding on extra packages they wanted to. Thy apologised and reversed same. I made payment on 29 August for 449.00 and price locked the package for 2 years at 399.00. Seems they all are incompetent as they keep cutting my dstv every Tuesday and Saturday now saying I'm owing them money. Their calls say popi complaint but seems they still do they wrong things every week. I have spoken to over 20 agents so far and all seem incompetent. Thy make you hold for up to 30 minutes wasting your airtime and never get back to you. Really disappointed and disgusted with dstvs behaviours.no one calls you back even when you request a manager to call you. Rating 0

Absolute worst

Absolute worst. Tried to activate an account deducted R699 + R632 for ‘activation’ in July. Package didn’t work. Paid again R699 - still didn’t work. Refund was promised. But waited months to learn - no refund will be given. Credit was given that already ran up, didn’t even know of it. Then September another R450 for f- knows was deducted. Still couldn’t get a refund. Everytime I contacted an agent - the issue was escalated, but NEVER a response. I have proof of ALL my chats. With every single agent.
This company is just like the rest of South Africa, a waste of time and money. Be better.

DSTV is the Worst of the Worst…

DSTV is the absolute worst of the worst streaming TV providers in Africa. It is impossible to stream from two or more TVs in the same house, which means that kids can't watch their shows while I want to watch my sports. DSTV is nothing more than another money-grabbing scheme, just like the ANC. It is a disgrace to Africa.

I have requested for my PVR…

I have requested for my PVR functionality to be activated. This took them three days. When the agent finally managed to do thar, they DISCONNECT MY INTERNET! Now no-one knows how to fix the problem. It has been ecalated, fasttracked and who knows what else, but after three days no one could assist.
USELESS, pathetic.
