Had my last Dualit toaster for 27 years and was still working but looking tatty so I bought a new 2 slice Architect toaster from John Lewis on 28th Dec . Last night it stopped working after making a strange bang as it popped up and the lever won’t stay down . So disappointed , they clearly don’t make them like they used to !

Don't buy this toaster bought mine just over 2years ago went to use last week fused all the lights, I have had checked as opened crumb tray pieces of looks like pieces of board and connector spoke to dualit who couldn't help as it was passed warranty they did offer 34%discount off a new which I thought was poor tried to get new elements but was informed this toaster is unrepairable this looks like new probably used a couple of times a week over the 2years why on earth pay £72. For obviously poorly made toaster which looks the look but can't cook toast.look else were for a proper toaster

Had my Classic kettle for a few months, it stopped working so was sent off to Dualit to be repaired. Firstly I don't expect a premium brand to stop working after such a short time. Secondly kettle was received by Dualit on the 4/2/25 and to date, 26/2/25 still not returned. I have called several times and been given various different reasons for the long time to repair, the latest being that it was due to the latest Norovius bug! Poor show Dualit! A replacement kettle would have been cheaper for Dualit.

Responding to Dualit's response to my review - complete brush off - saying January 2025 was too long ago to comment on - how ridiculous. No apology, no offer to compensate. I suggest to people who want a kettle that works and does not break within a year, rather than one that looks stylish, is expensive and has a so called premium brand, to look elsewhere. Poor show all round Dualit.

When it works it’s fine.
Today I am returning to John Lewis the third faulty DuaLit toaster in two years.
The latest one lasted 5 months; like the previous two it just stopped working, no bang or smoke.
I won’t be buying Dua Lit again

Had a problem with timer on my toaster, was offered a replacement part straight away with an option to fit myself or send back to be fitted. No quibble and very friendly service.

I was sold on the reputation for British made quality products so I bought a Dualit matching toaster and kettle set. The toaster worked for about 18 months then one side started to pop up alot earlier than the other, with an anaemic looking piece of toast. I was quite excited, Dualit offer a repair service because their products are such good quality and last forever...so I thought. Apparently this item model is not repairable and I'm left feeling that their promises on their website are a load of tosh. I won't be buying their products again. I can waste my money elsewhere.

Excellent after sales service. My kettle had developed a fault, the Dualit team made the repair process easy. We are delighted our kettle is now repaired and in working order.

I invested in a Dualit partly because it looked good but mostly because I thought it was a quality product that would last a very long time.
The average life of a kettle in my life has been between 5 and 7 years which I felt was fair for something that didn't cost a lot of money.
The switch on my Dualit kettle has stopped working after 6 years and the kettle will have to be replaced.
As the kettle cost more than 3 times more than previous purchases, I am disappointed.

I misplaced the pin the kept milk brother in place, searched online to purchase but dualit did not sell this. Emailed customer service and promptly received an email back. The person who contacted me, steph was very helpful and despite not having them in stock to sell said she could source 1 for me. She did this and I received in post within a couple of days. Excellent

Built like a steam locomotive and weighing roughly the same, the 3 slot Dualit toaster is an absolute beauty. We love the 1, 2, and 3 slot settings and all round ease of use. And whoever came up with the idea of 3 slots was a genius, I hope they got the afternoon off!

I purchased my architect kettle 4 years ago under the impression that Dualit products are made to last and be easily repaired if something goes wrong. Recently the switch on button has stopped working and won't stay down to boil the kettle, if held down it will still boil. I was hoping it would be an easy repair and contacted Dualit, only to find out that it will cost almost as much as a new Dualit kettle to get repaired and that I should expect an electric kettle to last 3 - 5 years. For a potential repair I would have to send off the kettle at my own cost, just for them to look at it and pay a flat fee of £55 minimum with no guarantee that it is repairable or if so cost more. Sadly, this makes no economic sense for me. Best solution here is to replace it with a brand new other brand model with variable temperature control that will cost me less then £55 and has enhanced features over the architect kettle. I am very disappointed with the Dualit customer service and promises at point of sale. The whole experience is not inspiring me to invest in Dualit products in the future.

Gleaming perfection - the state of my classic kettle now that they have repaired it for me free of charge

From new the machine was leaking coffee from the coffee head. The seal between the head and filter bowl was faulty. Machine returned to Dualit who were unable to repair and therefore sent a replacement. The replacement machine had the same fault. This was not user error as I have used other machines in the past.
Subsequently returned to seller for refund.

Brought a £80 kettle from this maker a couple of years ago and it’s stared to leak out of the switch.
We thought buying a decent brand it would have lasted longer. Must be some king of sealing fault.

I have been an avid and loyal purchaser of Dualit products for most of my adult life.
I purchased the Classic Kettle two years ago for £145 expecting it to last as long as the other products I've purchased in the passed, well I was wrong, it has developed a fault at the switch where it will not stay on.
After a phone call to Dualit and their customer services stated that they can repair it at a cost of £54 to myself plus postage.
Dualit products have obviously gone downhill in quality.
When you spend £145 on a kettle, you expect it to last, also after looking at other reviews, its obvious that this is a recurring problem and a design fault.

I have used these products before, and they have a nice feel and decent longevity. However, my most recent purchase was poorly machined leaving visible scars on stainless steel finish. The crumb tray was bent and there was residue in the toaster. The customer service was amazing and responsive, however, the result was as follows:
'I showed the photo to our Factory Foreman to ask his opinion on it. He said that there is a 'tolerance' on the appearance of the various components making up the toaster. The casting in your photo is within the tolerance and is therefore classed as a 'pass' although he did say that they don't tend to see too many like this. There will be others that will be at the other end of the scale though and will therefore have a better appearance'.
*Edit
They did promise to.replace the bent crumb tray that they admited was faulty.
But a month on, nothing has been done.
Further, the toastie inserts do not fit, making me wonder just how passable this product is.... I'm gutted, as no.issues with previous products but their response suggests that they are happy to be seen as a company with sometimes poor quality.

Time to buy a replacement kettle and will need a new toaster soon. When our Dualit toaster failed, just out of warranty and we contacted them to see about repair, they had a very much not interested and don't care attitude. We had a Architect kettle for some years and loved it, when it finally broke, we contacted them to see if there were any options for repair, there are none and again their attitude seemed off hand and unhelpful. So as much as I would like to buy a replacement Kettle from them, their less than friendly attitude puts us off.
*further response after your reply. When our toaster died, which had never toasted very well, even for a product with such a hefty price - you weren't interested. We were asking or enquiring about repair. Certainly wouldn't buy another toaster from you. Still on the fence about the Kettle, mostly due to your attitude.

We replaced all the elements and timer in our 20 year old 3 slot toaster. Unfortunately we continue to get the same uneven toasting that has plagued us since we bought the toaster. The end elements are markedly under powered compared to the centre elements. You would think this could be sorted with a few rounds of empirical testing and upping the wiring until the toasting evens out?! Our adult children ridicule us for our continued loyalty to a brand that is the middle class badge of knowing about toasting,......Looks better than it performs sadly.

I bought my copper dualit toaster and kettle set thinking it would be long lasting and after a year then copper started to look really bad. The copper on the toaster is so badly marked even though the ends are barely ever touched. I thought I'd be able to buy a replacement part for the ends as dualit supposedly lasts forever due to being able to supply spare parts. But they don't sell spare parts for every bit of the toaster.
The copper plates at the bottom of the kettle and on the handle have been peeling off so are pretty much metal colour now. If I knew it was going to be so badly made I would have bought an enamel version. Now I have to try and find someone to refurbish it.
