After many years buying toasters which worked well but we discovered were usually Chinese made we were determined to buy British and were delighted with our Dualit Lite 2 slice toaster. Unfortunately... See more

I got the two slot stainless steel toaster. I'd wanted one for years so went for it.
I love it, it's so easy to get the toast exactly as you want it. It's really well built and looks great.
My only negative would be that at the end of the toasting a bell should ring when the timer ends. It's just a 'clunk' which spoils the overall effect of a great appliance. If it wasn't for that, I would have given a five rating

The new hand held milk frother is really poor. Virgin one was very good but this new handheld thing has absolutely no it makes no foam just heat the milk and gently spin it. In my opinion don’t buy it.

My kettle was leaking from the spout after a year, call dualit they advised to send for repair which I did, the lady on the phone was most helpful and cannot fault her service it was great to receive good customer service and always makes the experience better. So it went for repair and received a new kettle under warranty. Cannot fault dualit services, very Happy customer and highly recommend. BIG Thank you!!

2L Dome Kettle - I purchased my first version of this 4 years ago and within 2 years the viewing window had cracked. I contacted Dualit and was advised that this was out of guarantee but as a good will gesture they would sell me a new one with a 34% discount. I accepted this as it may have been a one off fault but after another 2 years the same occurred. I contacted Dualit and got the same response word for word. I cannot believe that there is not a design fault with these kettles which are sold as a premium product and it would be mad to buy yet another . Best that other consumers are aware of how poor this product and Dualit's customer service is. Their toasters are good but their kettles are not worth considering as a premium item when there are so many better products on the market. As you can see from the reply by Dualit that they take no responsibility for their shoddy goods and offer zero compensation . Buyers beware of this shoddy company . Also see the bland unhelpful responses to all of the other poor reviews on Trustpilot. This is not a company that should be trusted and major retailers who stock their goods should take note.

Recently rang Dualit customer services to discuss service/repair options for my Dome kettle, which had stopped working. The call centre representative was pleasant but couldn't have cared less. Very pleasantly told me that despite Dualit's website recommending I get in touch, it was a non repairable product and I should "just purchase a new one". I purchased a Dualit product under the impression they could offer further servicing (as even for this model, their website states getting in touch to discuss this).
Humourous though her tone, it was evident Dualit didn't give a fig about retaining this customer - will be seeking an alternative brand as a replacement.

Not the quality I expected, not as good as they used to be. We received a Temperature control, swan neck kettle two years and 11 days ago (wedding present) and the element has gone. I’ve tested it and contacted Dualit service to confirm this is the fault. That is disappointing enough but what makes it worse is that it is not repairable due to the construction method neither will they replace just the kettle until separate from the base unit (which is fine) altogether disappointing from a prestige brand. I will just get one from the center of a German super market to replace it, they last for years.

Don't get the milk frother too wet! I bought this to replace a nespresso but soon discovered that, unlike the nespresso, you can't immerse it in water when washing. So it broke in less than 24 hours.
This isn't in bold or underlined in the manual - it's buried in the detail, not even a sticker or any kind of warning which is rubbish in my view. And my review via their website somehow has never been published!

We bought the Long Slot toaster a couple of years ago and i have never hated a piece of kitchen equipment as much.
My wife likes it, but then she doesn't actually like toast she likes warm bread, so we've kept it this long but it's going in the bin now as I've had enough.
It has one job and that is to evenly brown bread, a simple task you'd have thought, we've sent men to the moon after all, but no this toaster specialises in burning the outside while leaving the middle of the toast completely unscathed, which is quite an achievemnent.
It also has one side hotter than the other so if you want both sides to be equally burnt on the outside you have to turn your toast over halway through.
It is excellent at fitting in those huge slices of the £6 a loaf sourdough bread you can get at the farmers market on a Saturday morning but not so good at toasting them.
If Dualit can't even make a £120 toaster that works, probably the least complicated bit of machinery they do, I don't put much faith in any of their other products. Not for me.

This is our second 4-Slice NewGen Classic Toaster, so I knew exactly what to expect. Our first one, in polished chrome, has been working flawlessly for several years. We decided to get a new one to complement our recently updated kitchen.
We chose the model in primrose blue to pair with our midnight blue cabinets. The primrose blue is as dark as we hoped, and although not a perfect match, it pairs beautifully with our cabinets.
Like our previous model, this toaster exudes quality, and we are very pleased with it. While some people mention the slots might be a bit short, it easily accommodates standard loaves. For extra-wide slices, I simply cut them in half, and it works perfectly.

The quality of the items does not match the price. I have had 2 hand mixers and both have broken within a shortish period of time. The last one was only used about 10 times before the whisk function broke. Unfortunately it was just out of warranty/guarantee. I would expect so much more for the premium price from a company that boasts about it's standard of goods.

I purchased a chrome 1.5L electric cordless kettle and must say that after using several times a day now I’m finding it to be both practical and highly functional. It heats water to the correct temperature, runs quietly, is lightweight and has a useful filling gauge.
It is unquestionably built to a high quality and it probably one of the best I’ve used to-date. However being finished in sleek chrome it does show every mark and water stain. So requires regular cleaning and buffing in order to maintain its appearance.
I live in a hard water region so how long this product will actually last with several everyday uses is certainly debatable. I’ve also noticed that you get a large water condensation buildup on the base unit, when I questioned this issue I was advised this is a known design issue, and thus simply needs to be wiped after each use.
Only time and use will tell if this has been a worthwhile purchase, however I’ve had many Dualit products in the past and have been very impressed with their durability and reliability and in particular a toaster that lasted some twenty odd years.

Our toaster caught fire. The whole kitchen and hallway was smoke damaged. As a goodwill gesture I would have appreciated a replacement. Instead Dualit made us take the toaster out of the bin and send it to them, then they inspected the toaster with not so accurate findings. The best they offered was a 40% discount off a new toaster as they first said the crumbs caught fire then they said the crumb tray was missing. The tray had caught fire and dropped off onto the kitchen stone tiles. We where more bothered about throwing the toaster out. We have asked for the toaster to be sent back to us so we can have it inspected independently. I would not want the same model of toaster again and would definitely not want anyone else to experience what we have!

Be Aware, Jug Kettle JKT43. Looks Good, Feels Good!. But Irreparable [even if its a regularly failing on/off bi-metal button costing very little]. Dualit tell me " The average lifespan of an electric kettle is 3-5 years" if so why buy expensive, quality? Dualit which will last no longer than a cheap supermarket kettle at 1/4 of the cost if Dualit have to be scrapped just the same when they fail?. I personally expect greater durability, repairability & sustainability [to help the planet & my pocket] when I pay the premium

My Classic Kettle broke this morning. To be more precise the 'ring pull' on the lid came off. Not good timing as I was desperate for a cuppa.
Not to worry I thought, I can temporarily work round that and to be fair I have owned it for quite a few some years. Guess what though? I visited dualit.com and found a telephone number.
Imagine that, a website with a telephone number!
The surprises didn't end there as I called the number and a real person answered - no AI ChatBot doom-loop of questions, no disappearing down a button-pushing rabbit warren, no digital fobbing-off - but a real life person. And a very friendly one at that who was able to identify the assembly I needed and have one shipped to me free of charge.
For a moment I thought I had been transported back in time or perhaps living in a parallel universe where customer service is an everyday normal occurrence.
Well neither of these, it just so happens that Dualit are a beacon of hope in a world that increasingly views customer service as an incredible irritation where any form of customer interaction should be avoided at all costs.
Thank you for great customer service and thank you for not being one of the oh-so-common barely contactable companies, devoid of staff capable of making decisions!

Bought the Dualit Architect Kettle and matching toaster 2 years ago. The toaster keeps burning bread no matter what goes in. I contacted Dualit customer service to see if there was an easy fix - they couldn't be bothered to respond. So, I've just thrown it out for safety reasons and bought something else!

I put one star because you have to put something to be able to post a comment. It doesn’t even deserve one star. A ridiculous amount of money for a piece of crap. It burns every slice no matter how long you put on the timer, unless you do it a few seconds at a time and keep turning and checking it. This is even when it’s cold. If it’s been used and is still warm you might as well turn on the grill. Utter s***e

I purchased a Dualit Architect kettle from what is called the "Dualit Store" on Amazon in Jan 2024 and it's been used for 3 of the 5 months since then.
Something that sounds like a metallic screw has come loose inside the base and rattles around when the kettle is used and of course anything metallic in the proximity of 240V is also a safety issue.
Amazon just say it's up to Dualit to repair. Dualit say it's Amazon and the "Dualit Store" is nothing to do with them which begs the question why do they allow their name to be used in such a deceptive way? I have previously read that customers with issues get bounced between the two companies and now it's happening to me.
The Dualit solution is to return the kettle to them for a repair which will take 15 working days and I only got to that point after escalating my problem to their MD after complaining that their original estimate was at least a month. Sorry, but that's unacceptable as I will have to buy a new kettle anyway to get me through at least three weeks and a brand new kettle should not have a loose part inside.
Dualit trade on their "Britishness" but what they hide away is that their products are made in China and we all know about the quality of products made there.
The measure of a company is how well they respond to problems. I've owned Dualit kitchen appliances for many years but will never buy another and strongly advise other consumers to do their research first because a kettle that's just under £100 should not fail within such a short space of time.

I, like many others here, did copious research when it came time for me to buy a new kettle in 2022 and everyone was touting that Dualit kettles are hardy and last alike their toasters. I had been buying cheap supermarket/Russell hobbs kettles for years and they would last anywhere from 3 - 6 years and scuff, look unsightly or break down so I sprung for the Dualit Architect 1.5L kettle purchased from Hughes for a sum of no less than £89. It was delivered 27th August 2022, and by 13th November 2022 the thermostat cut-off had failed so the kettle just boiled and boiled until you turned it off at the switch, Hughes provided me with a replacement kettle in November 2022 and it's now June 2024 - throughout the time I've had it on a few occasions it's rolling boiled in the same broken way as the original unit and today it now will not stop boiling at all the same as the original unit I received. I called Hughes but alas it is out of warranty with them. I called Dualit as a result who informed me it 'can't be repaired' and whilst pleasant, Denise could offer me 34% off a different kettle (as if I'd buy another! A naff £5 kettle from Tesco lasted longer!!!). I am floored they sell products at such a high price point to be so rubbish they don't last longer than 18 months, and don't offer repair on them, leaving me £89 out with no kettle now! Doing some research online it would be appear that I am not alone, there are a litany reviews saying their architect series items have failed and I think it's a travesty they clearly ship out short-wearing items touting them as long-lasting and high quality. Avoid and get a kettle from another brand I'm absolutely gutted and can't afford another kettle during the cost of living crisis so I'm now just without one, my husband is equally disappointed as this was a big expense for my low-income household and we had saved up our wedding money to get it.

What a fantastic company, went above and beyond to supply parts for a kettle purchased in the southern hemisphere in around 2016, returned to the UK in 2021 and the handle broke in 2024
I called for some help to buy parts but they sent out all parts completely free of charge
