I made countless complaints

I made countless complaints regarding the quality of the finished work on our new build property considering is was vastly overpriced in consideration to the area its in (by at least £100,000) . If I can save one person from using this company in the future I would have done a great deed. They have no area of strength and zero accountability. From the first few months of moving we noticed issues that should not exist big or small . We escalated our issues up to directors level and still no action on clear lack of workmanship. Companies like this dont last long and end up closing and restarting like a "Phoenix Company" similar to when Evri used to be called Hermes .

Updated Review regarding my previous one

In January, we had our front door fixed. Appreciate all the works done and all the people involved.

Now that completion is done, there are a few issues that haven’t been clearly addressed. For example, our interior wall is around 15mm out of plumb and the front door is out of square. Unfortunately, we’ve been told these fall within the builder’s tolerance levels, so there’s not much we can do.

We understand that standards and quality criteria may vary, but it’s still disappointing to see these results in our new home — especially when you realise your front door is visibly crooked.

Katie and Kirstie have been amazing! They've been really friendly and helpful from booking to getting the contract sorted out. They're always updating us and even sending photos when we ask. Now we’re just excited for the completion!

Excellent First-Time Buyer Experience with Durkan at Wintringham

As a first-time buyer, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than I had with Durkan at Wintringham. From the start, everything felt well-organised, transparent, and genuinely welcoming.

A special thank you to Katie, the sales executive who made it all possible. Her professionalism, warmth, and constant support were outstanding. She made the whole process feel smooth and achievable. Alongside Kristie, both are incredibly down-to-earth and approachable—exactly what any buyer needs.

A massive thank you

A massive thank you for Kristie and Katie. They did an incredible work in showing us this home. Buying a new house is such a stressful process and knowing that you can count on the selling team to help you, is crucial. We chose this house because it was perfect and we loved it, but also because of Kristie and Katie support and extensive knowledge on the house and location. They were really helpful in settling in our new home and during the purchase process. Thank you for everything.

Would strongly discourage anyone from…

Would strongly discourage anyone from buying a Durkan property. Countless issues that have been going on since I moved in for nearly a year now. Not your usual snagging issues either, huge errors and faults such as window replacements, issues with heating systems, the list goes on. Lack of any accountability or compensation offered.

Unfinished Work & Poor Communication – Avoid Durkan Ltd

I had a very frustrating experience with Durkan Ltd. Their team started work on my flat but left it unfinished, citing an issue with their tools or machines. Instead of resolving the issue, they abandoned the job, removing the window frames and leaving a mess on my balcony.

I’ve been in contact with Tracy, but despite multiple follow-ups, I still haven’t received a clear timeline on when the work will be completed. The lack of professionalism and poor communication from both the company and their representative have been extremely disappointing.

If you’re looking for a reliable company that respects their clients and completes their work properly, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Durkan Ltd.

Positive experience

Although I was unable to complete the purchase due to unforeseen circumstances, my experience with Durkan was very positive. Their sales team and customer service, especially Kirstie and Katie, were outstanding throughout the entire process. They were dedicated to ensuring a smooth buying experience and were incredibly supportive and understanding during the cancellation process.

Shambolic company.

They are working on my street. ZERO consideration for the residents. Heavy machinery blocking a residential car park for over an hour, on several occasions. There was no notice to the residents about it. One thing is to let the residents know, that there will be works conducted by them, and another thing is to completely prevent the residents from going to work or school, when their cars are blocked in the car park. It takes only one sentence - "move your cars elsewhere, because they might get blocked, due to the works". Residents car park spaces taken by their contractors- how convenient for them, so the residents have to park at the roadside. Their vans and other cars carelessly parked on the double yellow lines, making manoeuvring the narrow roads and street corners very difficult. They have located heavy duty power generators just under the building, so all you can hear between 8:00am-4:00pm is the loud noise - no chance to open the windows or the balcony door, due to it. Whoever runs the company, has got no clue about customer service and serving communities.

Cowboys

Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys. Issues from the comencing in April 2022 to alleged closure in May 2022, and now, even two years later.
I am a resident of WBC, and in 2022, this unprofessional company were contracted to renovate bathrooms & kitchens of WBC properties. Two years later, issues are still being dealt with by WBC; for example, the boiler Durkan put in back in March 2022, had to be replaced by another contracted company, as the one Durkan had gotten installed was rubbish; two winters with no damn heating. I had to buy a portable radiator. The boiler Durkan had installed was ignored by WBC, so Housing Ombudsman were informed of this, as with countless of other ongoing issues. Less than two years of getting a new boiler, I have had another new boiler installed.
Another issue, is my wife has medical issues, and hidden disabilities. She needs to soak in the bath from time to time, as this is the only thing that helps release the pain she end up in. Durkan removed our previous (deep & wide) bath, replacing it with a shallow and narrow bath. Recently, we have had someone from a medical authority come and look at the bath, and after measuring it, has stated that the bath breaks the law of measurement for someone with medical disabilities. Durkan were informed after the bath was put in, that it is too narrow, but they cared not. They had discrimination attitudes toward the disabled!
Why WBC gave the renovation contract to this company, is beyond me and other residents that have been having endless issues because of this rogue company; Durkan . Even the site manager and project manager were arrogant and useless, they both had no interest in what was complained about during our awful experience with them, damaging personal properties, waltzing around my home like they owned it, left it filthy each day they decided to show up, and generally bad workmanship that has had to be rectified by other companies because Durkan were too unprofessional to monitor their own staff and sub-contractors.
Shame I could not give zero stars, but my rating is that of minus ten due to the attitude of the company’s staff: from reception to liaison officers, to workmen, to site manager, to their project manager; DESPICABLE.

Buying a new home

Removing the potential stressors in the process of buying my new home at Wintringham by helping connect me with the right people, and patience and support in giving me time to make choices regarding plot and finishings. Feel heard and supported. Great personal customer service over the last couple of months, making big decisions and commitments feel a lot safer.
