Great choice, excellent prices. Plants arrived in acceptable condition , despite time in transit(not sellers fault). So far all thriving. Will have to wait to see how bulbs perform. Packaging a little... See more

Took forever to deliver very poor quality plants!

Reply from J Parkers Wholesale
I received plants that were completely dried out with hardly any foliage and completely sub standard. I initially requested replacement plants but after waiting some weeks asked for a full refund instead. I am still waiting. Yesterday the write insisting the plants were ok. They were not. I will never order from them again and would definitely not recommend them.

Despatch time & delivery time was good as was packaging of order. But quality of plants was poor. Ordered 75 hidcote lavender plants & 15 red hydrangeas. on arrival all lavender had red leaves? Apparently this is due to plant stress or deficiency. I am disappointed these young plants arrived in this condition. The hydrangeas were frail looking specimens with multiple leaves fallen.
Quite simply if I could have seen the condition of the plants I would not have purchased

Terrible customer service. Been waiting Weeks for plants, still not arrived. Their chat bot gets you to put in an the info, then says someone will email me. How do they know what to email me about? I need to speak to a human to sort this out. Order number 23201880

I placed an order for several items back in april Order No. 23189151 which arrived in dribs and drabs. First part of the order that arrived were a pack of 6 different variety of Penstemons. They arrived in really poor shape and even after repotting and nurtering them only one survived. I sent a email with pics which took around 2 weeks for a response and they have refunded me. The bulbs I ordered arrived ok and then we move onto the 15 Cosmos plants which arrived squashed and poorly packed and again many died and I am left with 6 that are still alive but not looking that healthy. Sent another complaint email with pics and yet to hear back. Same with the petunias and Antirrhinums that arrived recently. very small and some are not doing well at all after being repotted. I have ordered plants from a couple of other companies which were much more appropriately packed and arrived in great condition but I won't be using Parkers again that's for sure. Lesson learned and an expensive one at that

My first order with this company (order 40186789) and a very disappointing frustrating experience. The order didn't arrive within the 21 day time frame, no updates, no apologies. I understand sometimes with nature/plants things don't quite go to plan but when the order did get sent out it was sent perfectly timed for a heatwave. Some companies sensibly will not send out plants to sit in transit for days if it's over 30 degrees. I called Dutch Bulbs and queried the dispatch given the heat, I said I was disappointed the order was late but would rather have healthy plants, I was told it would be fine. It was not.
When the order arrived, I couldn't believe the box wasn't ventilated and also a sizeable order was rammed into a box far far too small - every single plastic casing was mangled, damaging the plants. Some plants were bone dry, others were so soaking wet they were rotting and probably leading to almost all of the plants showing signs of powdery mildew. One clematis had one single stem with one healthy leaf, every thing else was brown, dead, broken off. Other plants had turned to mush at the bottom and all of them showed signs of stress, yellowing, wilting.
It's hard to understand how J Parkers can justify a delay "to make sure the plants are of a good enough quality to send out" and then damage them themselves to save sending two boxes properly packed instead of one and with no ventilation. A box containing a load of sodden wet soil with no holes in it in 30 degrees will never be a good idea.
I've now discovered there's no email address, and the customer service contact form won't submit because there were so many damaged plants there were too many photos and then it wouldn't let me delete the files.
Basically, I've changed my plans to be here for plants that arrived late and in awful condition, I've lost half a day trying to salvage some of them and even if they do revive - I'll have lost half a season of growth as something that should eg be a bushy multi stem young plant has to be cut back to as little as eg one single leaf in a pot. And may/may not grow on healthily. And now I'm losing hours trying to contact them and send photos.
I've no idea if this is the usual experience with Dutch Bulbs, I assume not.. but having checked almost all the recent reviews are pretty dire - so for now - I would not recommend. Even the person who recommended Dutch Bulbs to me told me she herself has had a really awful experience recently and will no longer recommend them. She and I are fairly experienced gardeners, I've placed many plant orders over the years and don't mind doing a bit of tlc after plants first arrive, I know things that are wilting will often perk up, but zero healthy plants is too high a failure rate and also such a waste of my time. And as all gardeners know, it messes with your whole season ahead if multiple plants have failed or are behind in the development to this degree.
In addition, I've now sat in a queue for absolutely ages to speak to Dutch Bulbs customer service, I finally selected the call back opt. They did call back, but 10 seconds in the call cut out and then they didn't ring back!
If you happen to have low blood pressure and would like to elevate it.. you could use them as a way of doing that!
I hope someone from Dutch Bulbs Customer Service will read this review and address the issues with me -but it's not looking promising. I did try pretty hard to contact them first in one of several ways before posting this.

Update - I did finally organise another call back fr Dutch Bulbs. Initially the response was - just plant everything up if there is any green on the plant at all and if it fails after several weeks you can come back to us. I reiterated that it was not about a bit of transport wilt/the odd broken stem/unrealistic expectations/inexperienced grower - and said I really didn't want to plant up a load of diseased mushy stemmed items and now in many cases tiny items, to then wait, lose weeks of growing time and complain again later. Eventually, after much discussion, I eventually got an apology and some items were refunded and a couple of others will be replaced. Dutch Bulbs also admitted that sending plants out in heat with no ventilation in one ridiculously rammed box instead of what should clearly have been two of that size was a valid point. So, while the whole thing has still been disappointing and I don't think it should have been this hard to resolve - I do appreciate that they relented on their usual line of - always plant it out, wait and see.

I have just recieved the Begonias I ordered, I opened the box and there is a jumble of broken plants with the stems all broken off and dry as a bone, I have always had good service from jparkers so I was appalled at the state of the plants, I’ve lost nearly £30 and I still have to buy more plants for my hanging baskets. A very poor show jparkers

Disappointing dissatisfied doesn’t even cut it! I purchased 2 White Large Hydrangeas your images were brilliant . I now realise what misleading images they are firstly poor quality and I would like to request a refund!
Please Trish don’t placate me with your repititive trite standard of customer apology! I will return these as soon as you respond many thanks Maria Fairchild RHS member

I wouldn’t give them one star. My first order didn’t arrive until I prompted them and my second order has not arrived! I have sent two emails and not even had a reply. I will review in 7 days then ask for a refund and I’ll never bother with them again

bare rooted…plum tree with no roots!
I received my replacement bare rooted Victoria Plum tree, because the first tree still resembles a stick. This is what I recieved, dried up branches and trunk, no greenery below the bark and maybe two threads pretending to be roots.
Really bare rooted should actually have some roots and sign of life!
This time they can't blame evri, jparker shipped it like that.
