Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 236 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to navigate, often leading to prolonged issues and no resolution. People frequently encountered problems with product quality, including items not working upon arrival, batteries failing prematurely, and parts breaking within a short period, which made them question the durability of the products. The high price of the products was also a major point of contention for many, as they felt the cost was not justified by the quality or the poor support received. Conversely, some people were satisfied with their purchases, particularly highlighting the strong suction power of certain vacuum models and their longevity over many years. A few other people also felt that the customer service was helpful in resolving their issues, providing replacements or assistance when needed.

Very poor customer service

I’m very disappointed with the service I received from Dyson.

I bought my Dyson V8 vacuum in May 2025, and it suddenly stopped working. I tried charging it, but the red light kept flashing. I called customer service, and the lady I spoke with went through some troubleshooting steps with me. She asked if any lights were flashing when charging, and I told her it was red only. Then she asked me to press the button for a few seconds, and a blue light flashed, which I mentioned to her. Based on that, she said it must be a charger issue and arranged to send me a replacement charger under warranty.

It took about seven days to arrive, but unfortunately, the issue still wasn’t fixed. So, I called again. This time, an Asian man answered the call, and right from the beginning, his tone was quite rude and dismissive. He asked again which light was flashing, and when I said red only, he told me it wasn’t a charger issue but a battery issue instead. He even blamed me for supposedly giving the wrong information earlier, even though I had described exactly what I saw. When I tried to explain, he didn’t seem to care at all, which was really frustrating.

He then said they would send a new battery, but it was out of stock and on back order for 4–6 weeks. He added that if I didn’t receive it within that time, they’d “look into something else.” I didn’t want to argue, so I just said “okay.”

Later, I told my husband about the situation, and he decided to call Dyson himself. He was firm and demanded to know how we were supposed to clean our house for 4–6 weeks without a vacuum. Suddenly, they said they’d send a battery from somewhere else, and we received it within a couple of days.

So, while Dyson did help in the end, it makes me wonder — does a customer really have to be rude or pushy to get proper service? If my husband hadn’t called, I’m sure I would have been waiting over a month for a solution.

Overall, a very poor customer service experience. The lack of empathy and communication was disappointing for a brand like Dyson.

Dyson Service Betrayal: Twice-Fixed Vacuum in a Week, Swapped Perfect Parts for Worn-Out Junk – Trust Completely Destroyed!

I've been a devoted Dyson fan for years, owning multiple products that promised innovation and reliability. But this warranty repair experience with my cordless vacuum has shattered that trust beyond repair—it's the worst customer treatment I've ever encountered.
It started with a simple power button glitch; everything else, including the brush head and attachments, was in pristine condition after light use. I trusted the authorized service center to fix it quickly under warranty. After the first "repair" attempt, I got it back... only to discover they'd swapped out my flawless, barely-used accessories for heavily worn, dirty parts clearly salvaged from another vacuum! The brush bristles were frayed and grimy, the laser non-functional—nothing like the originals. Heartbroken, I immediately returned it for a second fix within the same week, hoping for justice.
The second attempt? More delays and excuses, with no apology or investigation into the obvious substitution. They acted like it was normal to hand back a subpar, unsafe machine. This isn't service; it's outright deception that endangers users and erodes faith in a premium brand.
Dyson, you've lost a lifelong customer. I've never felt so betrayed by a company I admired. I strongly advise against anyone buying Dyson—save yourself the agony and choose a brand that actually stands by its products.

Very poor/dishonest customer service

We purchased Dyson V15 and the main tube broke within one month. We phoned Dyson, as it was under warranty and they noted to us that the part was backordered and would let us know when it was available. 10 months later, still no part. Alternate solution provided was to have us send our vaccum to them for a new one that would be delivered to us within two weeks (no other choice at this point). It has not arrived and we are now being told that it needs to be fully inspected before it can be sent back. I am a very positive and understanding person, so I am sharing this review so that customers can make an informed decision when purchasing from Dyson. The customer service is dishonest and does not put the client first in any way.

I would give it no stars if it was available. This hair dryer was replaced five times under the 2-year warranty. They would last anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months. You would think after making this product they would have a recall or an updated replacement for the continuous breakdown of this product. Shame on them for charging almost $400 where my kid has a $30 one from Conair and it's 6 years old and still working.

Dyson sent me a damaged “replacement” fan and refuses to take accountability.

I owned a Dyson TP02 fan that failed after 2½ years due to charred wiring. Dyson agreed to replace it, but what arrived was shocking — the box was crushed and looked like it had been dragged through a warehouse. The “new” TP07 had scuffs, a marked power cord, and particles sealed inside the display screen that you can’t clean because they’re trapped beneath the lens.

That’s not a new product; that’s a repackaged return. I’ve spent over 12 hours in chats and calls, yet Dyson keeps looping the same scripted answers with no supervisor or real solution. Even an earlier replacement was recalled mid-transit after reaching New Jersey due to a “system glitch.”

Dyson markets itself as a premium brand, but they’re acting like their reputation will outlast customer patience. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau because this experience has been insulting, exhausting, and completely out of line for a $600 product that’s supposed to represent “engineering integrity.”

If you’re considering Dyson, be warned: the product design might be impressive, but the company’s support is not.

Worst support ever

Worst support ever, I have returned my dyson as new one came out few days after I bought mine, so I thought I rather get new one. I didn't even unpacked my dyson sent back and I have already been waiting for money to be returned to my bank account. 2 months.
I am still waiting with their indian support and only answer I get, that my case was highlighed and passed to dedicated team. Keep waiting for another 5 days. This is absurd. Never buy from them. Overpriced and scam company.

Expensive product for low quality

I’m so disappointed with Dyson. I bought my Dyson Supersonic directly from their official website, believing I was paying for quality. After only about 2 years, it completely stopped working. Dyson replaced it with a refurbished one — but gave me no warranty at all. That “replacement” broke again in just 6 months!

I paid almost $450 for this hair dryer, and it lasted barely 2.6 years in total. That’s not normal for such an expensive product. It’s unfair that there’s no real guarantee or support after spending so much money. I honestly expected a premium brand like Dyson to stand behind their products better. I would never expect something this expensive to fail twice so quickly.

Ive got about $4,000 in products from Dyson and I will never buy another Dyson product ever. The support is ridiculous. They make you ship everything in after doing a video call with them. I just sent back the big and quiet purifier and received it with the top broken and now I have to send it back again. As a big allergy suferer and already dealing with a sinus infection, I wont have my purifier now for weeks again.

Please be aware

Please be aware, dyson is running a scam. They sending empty boxes with no product inside. Ups delivered an empty box which suppose to be a vacuum cleaner. The box was flattened. I went immediately to the ups driver and told him. He looked at it and said yea the box was empty. Long story short I found out im not the only one. Dyson been doing that to many other customers. Good luck to them because I will be collecting signature and will take them to court. Same MO same method with lots of other people.

DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Dyson doesn't care about their customers.

I’ve always held Dyson in very high regard. The company’s commitment to innovation, technology and design excellence made me believe it was a brand that not only creates outstanding products but also stands firmly behind them.

UNFORTUNATELY, my recent experience as a customer has proven otherwise.
After my Dyson Airwrap broke, I have spent FIVE MONTHS trying to get assistance through Dyson’s support channels. Every interaction has led to the same outcome - no real help, no accountability and no resolution. It often felt as if I was speaking to an AUTOMATED WALL rather than a brand that values its customers.

For me, customer support is a reflection of a company’s true culture. And in this case, Dyson’s silence has been deeply disappointing.

In case anyone is considering purchasing from Dyson - think twice before doing so. Your mental health may be at the stake of this decision.

I ordered a $650 (on sale) cordless…

I ordered a $650 (on sale) cordless vacuum and when it arrived they either packaged the wrong tube going down to the floor or left a piece out that goes between what they sent and the vacuum. I spent an hour on the phone with them, even letting them remote in to my computer so I could show them using the camera. They then told me the part I needed was out of stock and they would reach back out when it was in stock and I could then request the part. I told them it was unacceptable and I would send them the vacuum back and they could send me another new one with the correct parts in it. They agreed and I returned it the same day. After tracking said it had arrived back to them I called the next day to inquire about the new one that should be sent to me because I really didn't have an email or anything saying how the process would work. When I called I was told it would take 15 business days for them to go through my defective machine and send me a new one. For a company that prides itself on being the best at what they do, they don't know how to do customer service. This is very disappointing.

my order was split and that costs me more money

I ordered a replacement and decided to add two items to the order. Instead of shipping the whole order they split it up without consulting me.
I am using a forwarding service to get this shipment because I can't get any service in the country where I live. Getting 2 packages instead of 1 is going to cost me more because there is a flat fee per package and costs for getting these items through customs.
If I had know that the order would be split up I would not have added the 2 "nice to have but not necessary" items.
I haven't received the items yet, so I don't know if they are useable, but I was horrified to see all the negative comments. I love the product (Dyson V10) but their customer service is non existent.

Seeing all the bad reviews

Seeing all the bad reviews, I won’t go into much detail. But shortly:

1. Ordered an expensive vacuum cleaner
2. It stoped working after 1 use
3. Troubleshooting took so long we missed 30 day return window
4. They sent a new machine after returning the last one
5. It’s been a month and we still haven’t received the machine
6. Customer service is absolutely disgusting, rude and unhelpful and unprofessional
7. Each agent keeps telling same think ‘your order will arrive shortly’ but with every agent I speak (about 4-5 agents) they keep postponing the date
8. Lie stating to your face. Got an email (tracking doesn’t work for exchanges) on the 15th my order has been shipped, CS rep confirmed it. Now the agent is lying straight to my face saying it’s been sent the 19th.. next time they will tell be it was sent in November instead of September? Hahahah I returned it in August.

I have a Dyson Ball Animal vacuum which I acquired where I work after I accumulated the proper amount of points to get the vacuum. I am a 57 y.o. man, good shape for my age but I have broken my back twice. I have difficulty pushing the vacuum. It feels like it is stuck to the floor. Clearly the suction is good but what good does that matter if you can barely move the vacuum? The front brush and housing are attached magnetically to the ball. Every time I use the unit the front spinning brush unit detaches from the magnetically held ball. Given all of the technology, the worst vacuum I have ever owned. Complete waste of money.

Dyson Customer Service is what hell looks like. No joke.

I want to share this with anyone who wants to preserve their sanity--stay far away from this company. My Airwrap broke in May. It's under warranty. The company told me I was due a replacement, but first they had to pick up the old one. For the next 3 MONTHS, I called almost every week to ask when it would be picked up. The customer service is a form of psychological torture. The person says "I need to escalate this to the dedicated team. They will follow up with you in 3-4 business days." I never EVER got any follow up. So, I'd call again and I get the same exact message. Over and over and over for months on end. I asked them countless times if I could mail the machine to them. Not possible--they just wouldn't allow it. Finally in early August, they gave up on their pickup guy. I got an email showing the replacement machine I was going to get. That was early August. 6 weeks later, still no machine. They wouldn't give me tracking information. All I got was, "rest assured, I will escalate this to our dedicated team. In 3 to 4 business days, someone will get back to you." And over and over again. It's now September 18th and I still do not have the machine. I would burn this company to the ground if I could. I have never in my life experienced something like this. That machine was close to $600! How this company is still in business is beyond me.
