Good car
Good car. Easy process. I was able to get a car with full insurance as I don’t have a credit card
Highly DISHONEST, DO NOT RENT
I had a nightmare experience with Easirent and realised they are essentially highly dishonest with illegal or "grey area" practices designed to con you out of your money and cause you stress. I did extensive research on them and discovered shocking corporate misconduct. They were kicked out of the UK and now rip off Irish and tourists from everywhere that deal with them. Everything I state has been 100% fact checked .
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
## Corporate Background - History of Fraud
Paul Hanley's management has overseen **six corporate failures since 1999**, costing taxpayers and creditors over **£9 million in the UK**. Their UK operations went into administration in 2020, owing **£2.9 million to HMRC**. EasyGroup Limited requested director disqualification for "systematic and cynical abuse of limited liability and insolvency law."
## Systematic Customer Exploitation
**Hidden Charges Scam:**
- Online quotes of €35-80 escalate to €2,100-3,500 at collection
- Mandatory insurance despite valid coverage
- Deposits of €1,000-3,500 demanded on arrival
**Fraudulent Damage Claims:**
- Vehicles approved at return, charged thousands weeks later
- Claims for pre-existing damage customers documented with photos
- Refusal to provide damage documentation
## Location Issues
**Cork Airport (Bobby - Scottish Manager):**
Multiple reviews describe Bobby as a "disgusting human being" with "condescending, rude & arrogant" behavior. Facility is a "shabby, smelly affair up a back alley." He gives customers vehicles with dangerously low tire pressure and uses intimidation tactics for expensive insurance purchases. He attempted to defraud me and keep a €3500 deposit for pre-existing damage ( barely visible) on mirror . His background and criminal record from the UK should be investigated.
**Dublin/Shannon:** Described as "incomplete warehouse," two-hour waits, staff hang up on customers, contract manipulation with additional charges.
## Industry Recognition
- **Better Business Bureau: "F" rating**
- **Trustpilot: 1-star reviews** - "scam company"
- **TripAdvisor: "RUN LIKE HELL FROM THEM"**
- Major rental companies warn customers about Easirent
**NOT a member** of Car Rental Council of Ireland - avoids regulation.
## Recommendation
Based on hundreds of reviews and legal actions, Easirent's business model is fundamentally based on deception. **DO NOT RENT FROM EASIRENT.** The small savings aren't worth the inevitable fraud and stress.
**Save yourself the nightmare - book elsewhere.**
Great service as usual!
Wouldn't use Easirent again
Wouldn't use Easirent again. Whilst the initial booking was easy, the customer service is non-existent and they mis-sell insurance on the pretence of it being a 'deposit', then refuse to give the money back.
Staff (bar one decent individual) are rude and have no customer service skills. They don't answer emails and when they answer the phone, the service is appalling.
Wish I could give No Stars!
Pick up from Dublin airport was fine…
Pick up from Dublin airport was fine although the van could only carry 8 people maximum. So you might have to wait up to 30 mins for the van to return. Staff member at the desk was very pleasant and efficient. Sad that although we had paid for ‘full’ insurance it still didn’t cover - mirrors, wheels or windows. So had to shell out another €45 for peace of mind. Great that they don’t hold thousand’s on a credit card!! In fact it’s zero. Finally the B class car was a typical Dublin rent-a-wreck. Battered in all 4 quarters and really horrible to drive as it pulled hard left all the time. Let’s see if they offer to replace it……otherwise no surprises.
What a bunch of cowboys.
What a bunch of cowboys..be very careful, completely trying to rip you off at every point of the process. Dismissive off questions. Try to rush you.
Took out the full insurance as was obvious from the initial conversation at the desk that they were going to screw you first opportunity, on return still went around the car trying to point out damage that was on the car when given to us, luckily we took photos and videos.
They should also know what the existing damage is on hand over..!!
Told us M50 toll was paid so not to pay twice. Then we get a mail saying we owed toll. They paid it and a £10 charge for administration, but it was to save us money.
Stay away
Stay away. Please.
Hired a car on 13th Aug to return on 14th Aug 2025.
When I got to the desk a man told me by the name of Ali Raza I cannot collect the car due to 6 points on my licence. They refused to give me a car so I had to go with another company which cost be £800 for one day hire.
I then went through hotels.com to retrieve the he £173 which the car cost to hire. They told hotels.com I was a no show. (How strange as they denied me the car and I have the name of the guy)
So they tried again and spoke to a guy called James who stated my driving licence didn’t have a dvla code on so didn’t get accepted. (How strange as you need to code to check if I had points)
So they have made up 3 different excuses. Then they state there are never any managers and refuse to issue a refund.
Luckily I hire cars every week and use American Express who got my money back. But honestly please done go with them. They are crooks and don’t even have a customer service base in Ireland or the UK. Stick to the big boys not these crook companies.
This company is a scam, do not use!
This company is a scam and platforms should be shamed to list it on. I booked it through Expedia and found out it has no airport counter. You have to call to get sent to a location to pick up your car. My flight was late for 30mins and when I called I was told my reservation was cancelled and no refund issued at all! Be aware of this scam company and do not use them at any case even if they showing as the “cheapest “ option on your list. I end up paying slightly more plus a full cost that could never be refunded.
Terrible!! They left us with no car.
Terrible! We booked a car for 11 days 2in June. On the 13th of August when we arrived at the meeting point at the airport, we called as instructed, and they told us that the car that had been assigned to us had an accident and therefore they were sorry. That's it. They didn't have a car for us. They said they just sent us an email 1 hour ago, which we never received, saying that they didn't have a car for us and that they were sorry and to book somewhere else. They didn't bother to help, they didn't care at all. They just eft us there with no car and said that it wasn't their responsibility. TERRIBLE..

I booked a "SEAT Alhambra or similar 7 Seats", got a Dacia Jogger - apart from 7 seats that's by no means a comparison. Car was 2 years old and full of dents, one wheel cover missing. Poor horse powers. Tank not full although so written on the voucher. Not Diesel although so written on the voucher.
But driving was OK.
Returned the vehicle after 19 (!) days. They said it was extreme dirty and they would charge over 100 € for extra cleaning. That was not correct, it was only a bit of dry sand in the trunk and in the foot space.
So I had to drive to the petrol station and I did 4 minutes of hoovering to clean the sand and they accepted.
This practice clearly targets customers who have to get to the airport quickly and have no time to clean or fight. That's more than shady and can spoil the best holiday memories.

From the moment we landed we had to wait for the shuttles bus which arrived 45 mins later .We read through the facts and signed them First of all the cars main light was broke which checked myself without them telling at which point the assistant just banged on the light .Then the tyre pressure pinged to say it was low .
When returning the car I informed them were I had been and wasn’t sure if I crossed a border has to the reception assistant says don’t worry it will just come out of your credit card and my reply was why can’t I just settle now .Further down the line I received an email 2 weeks later stating I owe £100 euro fine which would of been £35 if I had told them about my occurrence there response was we will look at cctv .Four days later I received an email saying my card was charged €100 euro and that’s the end of the matter .PLEASE avoid this company

Very friendly and fast processing of the rental. On the negative side, we got a panda when we'd booked a Fiesta or like.

AVOID, spend a few more quid on Hertz or Enterprise
Easirent, how are you still in business?
A disaster of a company.
Spend a few more quid on Hertz or Enterprise. The difference will be more than made up from the price of your tears as you are left abandoned with no car, no life, nowhere to go.
Upsettingly poor experience
We are shocked and upset by our experience with Easirent Dublin. We didn’t expect a 5 star service, but I have never experienced such poor customer service and outright rudeness before. Besides the extortionate €2900 deposit and being given a different car to the one we booked, on our third day of driving we had a serious incident when a tyre punctured on the motorway. After sorting the spare, we immediately took it to a garage for a replacement. We were told by the mechanic that the tyre had an old puncture that had been repaired with a temporary rubber stop. We were informed by them that such a measure should only be temporary and is not safe for long-term use. Easirent had been a bit useless on the phone, so we waited until we returned the car two days later to speak to an employee in person about our concerns. At first the employee said they would never have put a stopper in the tyre; when we showed her video evidence, she stated that puncture stoppers are actually safe and it cannot have been the cause of the puncture, despite the mechanic telling us so. The employee asked for written evidence of the tyre repair company’s words, but told us that even with this (which we now have) there is nothing we or they can do. She also accused my partner of being threatening when he asked for confirmation that they would be more careful with car safety checks in the future - we weren’t even asking for a refund, just for peace of mind for future customers. She also said that I should have spoken up as the car hirer rather than my partner, so I told her that I obviously agree with everything he had said, and that the reason I hadn’t spoken up is because she had been shouting for the last 10 minutes and I was upset and shocked by the whole experience. She then told her colleague to put us on their ban list - as if we would ever hire from them again!
Worst rental experience ever
Arrived 3hrs after the booking due to delayed flights and they'd given away my car! Didn't even bother to contact me first. They found another car but smaller than what I ordered but did not give me any discount. Pick up point was not at Dublin airport but rather a 10min shuttle drive away - which you have to call to arrange yourself - and took 30 mins to arrive. Bloke at pick up centre was really of no help, use or had any interest in service at all. They took $3500 deposit and I'm still waiting on it to be refunded over a week later. Worse rental experience ever
Run away from this place
If I was able to choose no star I will choose it. My best advice for all travellers is to AVOID that dishonest company. I had already booked and paid for my rental some time ago, but on the day of taking possession, even with proof documents that I was insured I had to pay a deposit and fees that were not anticipated. Do not sign anything there. Go somewhere else!
Charged me for an estate, gave me a smaller car — then claimed it was an upgrade
Charged me for an estate, gave me a smaller car — then claimed it was an upgrade.
I booked a VW Passat Estate (Group DE) from Easirent for a family trip — I needed space for three small children in car seats and luggage. When I arrived, I was told the car wasn’t available. After being shown three smaller cars, I was offered a VW Taigo, which I was told was in the same class.
The Taigo is a compact crossover, much smaller than an estate. I accepted it based on what I was told — and the rental agreement I signed showed it as Group DE, matching the estate I booked. We had to cut our luggage, and the journey was cramped and uncomfortable.
After the trip, Easirent emailed me claiming the Taigo was a “higher category” vehicle and that I’d been upgraded. But they also quietly changed my booking to Group DES after I left — contradicting their own story. In reality, I was charged for an estate (~€55/day) and given a car that rents for nearly half that price (~€28/day).
I raised the issue multiple times, provided documentation, and was met with vague responses or silence. I've now filed a formal complaint with the CCPC for misrepresentation and post-rental manipulation of booking records.
Be cautious booking with Easirent. You may not get the car you paid for — and if there’s an issue, don’t expect meaningful support afterward.
Do not recommend
The worst rental experience I've had. The staff was useless and made no efforts to help. We were charged extra fees at every occasion even though they hadn't explain in advance the rules clearly. The car was fine for 1h before the tire sign went on, we had to stop at every gas station to check the tires and one of the pressure sensor was broken. At the end we ask if everything was okay and they said yes however we later found out that they charged us extra fees again. The shuttle going to the airport took more than 30 minutes to arrive when we arrived and when we left they we had again because there was no organization about passenger order. Definitely do not recommend
