Paid for an item that I never received.
No support from ebay despite promoting money back guarantee.

Shipping from UK to Ireland is gone crazy, and then on top of that you have to pay tax. Is a joke. I've stopped buying anything from ebay uk. So, your paying tax already added to the item to UK government and then more tax to your own government. It used to be great but I feel ripped off now. One seller said that it was eBay that adds the post cost and not the seller. I asked eBay was there a way to filter out UK sellers but they can't do that. I will not order anything from the UK now. You will save money by buying in retailers now and at least its very easy to return and you do not have to pay extra post. Shop local if you can.

Useless company when it comes to consumer protection.
even when representatives can see a seller is acting against the terms eBay protects those dishonest sellers.
Having being lied to by 3 different representatives (and have recorded phone calls) I advise people to AVOID eBay.
having been a user for 16 years, I am glad I switched to Amazon and encourage people to stop using eBay.

Scam sellers put goods on ebay, then report the items themsleves, An item is then delisted and you end up with lost money without possibility of giving those sellers feedbacks!!!
The only way to get your money back is opening a case in paypal and be ready for very long way of going through the whole process..
I gave up after 2 hours of being redirected from one person to another..
The ebay crew is useless - hard to contact and if you are lucky to get a reply, they will tell you, you are not eligible for ebay money back guarantee because you used ebay.ie

ebay Ireland is terrible compared to Ebay.co.uk. It is overpriced and lacks an audience/market of potential buyers and sellers.

Ordered some goods over 7 months ago. When they arrived they were really badly packaged like a flimsy plastic bag. Unsurprisingly two were broken, Took pics and got in contact with seller. They agreed to replace them ...BUT never sent them (twice) I asked for a full refund for the broken items they said no prob ...Never arrived and they keep giving lame excuses. The last excuse was that their accounts dept was having problems and the transfer would happen in a weeks time ... One month later nothing.
Chancers and Ebay have to be the riskiest site to do business. STAY AWAY.

Purchased item from Lituanian seller advertised on .IE ,buy it price in GB pounds and Euro,incurred additional cost transferring my payment in Euros to GB pounds ??and back to Euro to pay Seller..decided to sign directly into international sites advertising and bid on items advertised only in Euros ,,surprise surprise invoice issued in GB pounds,,,follow up complaint to Ebay customer service prompted condescending response to poor dumb Paddy which revealed they also are confused that Ireland is not part of UK...considering EBay has a head office in Dublin they should really concentrate on finally clarifying the issues re.postage costs, billing and ultimately sovereignty...can't see EBay.GR customers accepting being billed in GBP for transactions with fellow Europeans...

Ebay, CHECK YOUR SELLERS!!! i've already reported some fake asian accounts, stated as: "shipping from uk or ireland" but in reality, they're shipping from asia using aliexpress!!!!
BE CAREFUL BUYERS!!!

That seller is still selling, we've reported him several times without any help from ebay.
And then, ebay decided to remove my feedback for no reasons. goodbye forever ebay, see you never again!!

ebay has gone from bad to unbelievably bad! The fees are are a total rip off and their policies are terrible.
I sold a quite expensive item and have been blocked for around a month to access the funds from my sale. But was made to post the item straight away and they have already charged me for the fees on this sale... this should be against the law. they are holding MY money from the sale of MY item from me. Some people might need those funds to pay for the shipping or the fees.
NEVER EVER SELLING ON EBAY AGAIN!!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Ebay now use third party middleman for shipping, which means a seller does no longer get your address, but Pitney Bownes. They are a nightmare!!. The shipping that should take a few days or a week max, it now takes over a month! Disgraceful behavior and a pure scam, Not to mention a breach of contract where Ebay does not provide a seller with your address. This is not what I signed up for. My 15 year old account is getting deleted and this was my last purchase on Ebay. There are far better places out there!! |Good luck, you have been warned!

I have put my first listing, after 25days i got an email that my account was permanently suspended. I assume the customers wasnt that much interested o ebay just hd to remove it thats the reason. Crazy

I occasionally buy inexpensive items on Ebay, a phone case and summer shoes being among this year's purchases. Yesterday I purchased a torch and a small camping knife and paid both international sellers by PayPal.
Today eBay sends a email telling me my account is permanently suspended. They will not give any specific reason but made vague reference to my shopping practices being a risk to the eBay community.
Live chat was a disaster, I couldn't get any straight answers and was treated like some sort of criminal (except a criminal is told what crime they are accused of...)
Basically I'm barred without explanation and they don't want to discuss it.

Sold 3 items on ebay and got charged 26 EUR.. I was supposed to get charged between 0.30 - 4.00 per the 3 sales. Shocking.

Great support during a very stressful time thank you to all the team.

I've been using eBay for over 10 years and bought over 650 items from them. The quality of their service is really going downhill. The most recent experience, the item didn't arrive and the Chinese seller kept telling me to wait and wait. Eventually, the 60-day feedback window expired. So now I can't leave negative or neutral feedback to warn other buyers, and I have to wait ANOTHER two months to open a case against the seller to recover my money because they managed to set the estimated shipping time to FOUR MONTHS after the order.

Frankly it's stupid that the feedback window is only 60 days and then the sellers take advantage by telling you to wait a week, and another week, and another week until they're safe because you can't leave feedback any more. Then they just stop answering you and you have to wait for eBay/PayPal to allow you to open a case against the seller many weeks later.

If anything, the feedback window should be up to a week or two AFTER the expected delivery date, so a seller who sets a really long window to cover themselves will still be subject to receiving bad feedback if they give buyers the runaround. I've tried contacting eBay support with this suggestion, but based on past experience they will just tell me it's been forwarded to the relevant department for consideration, and I'm pretty sure nothing is going to change.

Hard to get contact. Sellers doing people out of money and not sending goods. I paid them through ebay not PayPal and can't get refund seller won't reply to me either. And ebay allows most sellers to allow no refunds and no money back as well

absolute shower of effluence! eBay have partnered with Pitney Bowes AKA Hermes, thats should say it all!!
they make errors and then will not asssit leaving you out of pocket by hundreds blaming this on fees paid to 'your government' (the thick staff mean customs/import duty etc) but are incapable of understanding their mistakes!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS and be VERY careful how you use the domestic site as even after direct reports to them of hacked accounts trying to fraudulently make purchasses, they do not take action as they rub thir hands at potential credit card/paypal/bank insurance claims instead!

Most of their clothing is ‘seconds’. Terrible faults in their clothing. Don’t buy. They are based in Manchester. They may go under other brand names also on eBay. You will lose your money. Don’t buy anything on eBay it is getting worse and worse. Don’t use PayPal because you will get an unbelievable run around - a website which is not transparent, is completely confusing and not user friendly. Only buy from trusted companies, this is advice that is becoming more and more applicable, the busier the internet marketplace gets.

Ebay have got to be the WORST buy and sell site in the world. They are so unhelpful when you have problems and through paypal they can steal from your account if a buyer has a problem or if someone just wants to rip you off by claiming they never receive their items.
I have had good buying experiences but I have lost gold/silver and money through their buyer protection policy which does not even protect the seller from scammers and thieves.
Do not sell on Ebay!!!!!!
