We arrived at the terminal with 25 minutes to spare and they said we were too late , even though the cars continued to come in for the next 39 minutes !! We were walk on passengers with tickets already booked . Terrible service at the counter in Helsinki . Very grumpy.

If you travel by bicycle you must arrive at the same time as cars, but you are let in as the very last, after all the other vehicles are boarded. There is no shelter or protection from the elements for while you stand in the cold wind while the other vehicles driving in.

Compared to Tallink and Vikingline ferry services, bicyclists are definitely a lazy afterthought for Eckeröline (yet all three have the same price for a bicycle ticket). Either let cyclists in first (like Tallink does), between the other vehicles (like Vikingline), or provide some form of shelter for bicyclists to wait inside.

It would also be good to have an actual bike rack in the ferry, not just get told to lean my bike against the waste container.

Check-in procedure is from another world. We experienced DFDS Kiel -Klapeida as a disaster. Eckero Line Tallinn- Helsinki is TOP! Great customer journey, very well explained on the website, worked as promised, car registration number automatically recognized, clear electronic info on a display, right lane, short passport control, no documents needed, again the right lane, and on every corner a steward to give you instructions. Our advise to DFDS: go to Tallinn and have a look at the way Eckero Line is organized!

Missed the first ferry by 10 min due to traffic. Took another ferry to go later. We thought we can use the return tickets back home but the ferry was overbooked, even if I had paid for it. Our trip was apparently automatically cancelled since we missed the first ferry. There was no information about it in my email.
They said I should have told the first terminal that we were late so our trip would have not been cancelled. How could we have known this?! So we spent 170€ more on ferry tickets to the other company. Seems like this is their plan. Nice corruption!!!

I was in Estonia on 31st of aught with Eckerö line , we left Helsinki at 9:00 and got to talinn by 11:15, coming back the ship was supposed to leave by 18:30 but we got to the harbour at 18:10 and the shift had left , many customers had to reschedule and use another line

Took Eckero ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn on 27 July 2024 on ship Finlandia. People were smoking throughout the transit in no smoking areas. I got sick from breathing all the second hand smoke. Not once did a Eckero line employee ask 7 to 8 people to move to smoking areas. Also they were putting their cigarettes into trash cans. I believe this is a fire hazzard. I will not use this ferry again.

The ferry is extremely uncomfortable. There no places to sit for free, the cafes insists you buy something, and the cafe chair are the absolute cheapest that bend under you (and I’m petite) and give you neck and back pain after just 15 minutes.

I've been frequent traveller and loyal customer for decades. What did I get for that? We were late 3 minutes yesterday for the ship and not let in. Customer service lady at the counter very arrogant and unfriendly. All say: "go to Tallink", is it a sales funnell? Terrifying experience.

I had a problem with my booking and worriedly wrote to the customer support email (I wrote in English, but local languages would be supported too, I'm sure). Within 15 minutes they solved the problem for me! Many thanks :)

Nobody tells you, that you need to be at the ferry 30min before the departure when leaving Estonia (when leaving Helsinki, we were there 5min before and everything was normal)!!

There is a warning only in finnish language so if you dont speak it, you miss this informarion.

We were 1minute late and the staff was very very very rude, not letting us in (having in mind i was 7months pregnant and with all my meds back in the hotel in Helsinki).

When we wrote a complaint, nobody responded.

We booked the alternative line TALLINK that still had one departure later that evening and the experience was totally different not to mention the comfort of the ferry.
