My student’s group did not get to go in St. Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel & Museum, because her tour elected to go there on one of the two days the Vatican was closed in June (closure dates were posted on all Vatican sites by Jan, and her tour was in June). They were unwilling to adjust the itinerary of the 4 days they spent in Rome to go to the Vatican on a different day, even though they had at least 6 months notice. Also, when they got to Florence in late morning, right on time for the itinerary, tickets to see Duomo’s Dome/cathedral/bell tower were sold out for the day. If I had known my student would not see the Vatican or the most famous site in Florence, I would not have sent her on this trip. We were only notified within days of departure that they would not be going to the Vatican through a message from our chaperone. She had a wonderful time, but every time someone asks her about her trip, they mention these famous landmarks, and she has to explain that they didn’t get to go there. (The Vatican tour was on the itinerary that I paid for, and the dome/cathedral/bell tower were listed as options- which they asked to do- for the Florence day).
The itinerary for this tour was full of amazing experiences! Our tour director, Andreas, was AMAZING!! I would do any tour that he is leading!
Great experience!
Best time my daughter enjoyed her guide ellie so much she made sure that my daughter enjoyed all the places that
Disorganized, unenjoyable, horrible hotels and cruise… no hot water, no water, broken a/cs, will not use again
Highly recommend the Italy trip. My kiddo loved it.
We got to experience everything on the itinerary, plus more. My students got to explore the cities we visited, tried all the local food favorites, and we found a place to do a pasta cooking class to enhance our on tour experience. Every place we visited really brought the learning experience to life and my students created last memories.
Completely well curated and executed.
My daughter has gone on two trips through EF Tours, and I plan to send my youngest son on trips through them, too. From the moment your trip planning begins, EF Tours keeps you informed and keeps things convenient with a user-friendly website that includes access to view your payment plan (if you have one) and check to-do lists. For my daughter's trip, each hotel included breakfast, and their rooms on a couple of their stays included breathtaking views. There were tour guides for every location they visited, and they used electronic devices for each participant to hear the guide without having to be in close proximity, allowing for a little more mobility and better sightseeing. Each dinner was delicious and meaningful, but the last one they had - the Greek Evening, which was an extra fee, was her favorite. I highly recommend this tour by EF Tours!!!
The tour was awesome for the most part. I thoroughly enjoyed the hotels and the towns of Kalambaka and Montecatini. I wish we had more time actually, to experience the amenities at the wellness spa in Montecatini. The service was great at all the hotels, and most of the planned meals were great. The food I didn't like was on the Night Ferry, and we didn't have choices for breakfast or dinner. TO get choices, you had to pay for your meal. The only bad parts of the tour were that the tour guides in the Vatican and another location talked too much. I really liked the tour guide at the Temple of Apollo. The London layover was by far the worst part of the trip. The tour director was 20-25 minutes late to the airport to get us. On top of that, the bus never showed to take us to the hotel. We were in the airport for almost 2 hours before he had to get us taxis to the hotel. The same bus company was 20 minutes late picking us up the next morning.
This tour of Italy and Greece was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from the ancient ruins of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum to the stunning Acropolis in Athens and the charming mountain villages in Greece. Our guide Vicky was knowledgeable, passionate, and brought history to life with engaging stories and insights. The food, scenery, and cultural experiences exceeded all expectations.
Before the trip even began, EF Tours drastically changed the itinerary, and when parents raised serious concerns about the new travel schedule, EF Tours completely ignored them. What was supposed to be a 10-day educational experience turned into just 6.5 days of touring, with the remaining 3.5 days consumed by exhausting travel. One leg of the journey included over 24 hours spent on a ferry and bus to get from Greece to Italy — a detail that was never properly disclosed ahead of time. The experience in Italy was no better. Students spent only one day in Florence, with no tours or structured activities scheduled for that day. In Rome, the hotel EF booked was extremely concerning: it was located in a questionable area, and the rooms had no locks on the doors, raising serious safety concerns.
Excellent experience, loved our tour guide and all the places we visited.
My son went on a trip to Italy and Greece with his school and had the time of his life!
This trip was so incredible. Our tour director, Jason H, made this the trip of a lifetime. It is chock full of adventures, sites, food and more. What an experience!!
It was well organized and Olga was amazing on the tour.
Only my second tour with students but was the best!
provided an incredible adventure for my child, full of lasting memories and longtime friendships. Provided a feeling of security and ease for us at home, knowing she was safe because we had a great chaperone and EF
A wonderful tour of very impressive and beautiful cities. As always, more time would be great!
