Too much traveling rather than actual experiences. A lot of our meals were at bus/truck stops rather than restaurants. Overall, will not spend the money or time on this type of trip.
Travelers gained so much insight to the historical significance of both Greece and Italy along with the dense culture that stems from past empires and modern adaptations. Students came away with a new appreciation for travel, culture, food, and history.
The tour director Mario was absolutely amazing! I can't think of a better job that was done during the entire trip. The sites were beautiful and the food in Greece was amazing. Italy did not deliver as much on food as expected, but there was variety. My only suggestion would be to change the amount of time that was set for independent exploration. At times, there were 3.5-4 hours of times of students to explore in shopping areas which seemed to be a little too long. Because of all that we were able to see, I am now ready to explore Greece and Italy on my own as 2.5 hours is definitely not enough for the Vatican.
EF Tours’ Adriatic Odyssey itinerary was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Every destination felt like a dream, offering incredible opportunities to explore and learn—especially among the ancient ruins in Rome, Delphi, and Athens, where history truly comes to life. Florence was filled with spectacular sights at every turn, and the Meteora Monasteries were absolutely awe-inspiring, both to view from afar and to visit up close. The accommodations were consistently safe, clean, and conveniently located near key destinations, making travel seamless and stress-free. Meals throughout the tour were some of the best I’ve experienced on a group trip, adding even more enjoyment to the journey. EF Tours excels in organization and planning—the entire experience felt well-structured, secure, and enriching. The local guides and our tour director were exceptional, bringing deep knowledge and enthusiasm to every stop. I cannot recommend EF Tours highly enough, especially for educators looking to provide meaningful, well-organized, and inspiring educational travel opportunities for their students.
Beautiful scenery and amazing history for students to experience.
It is - like most student tours - a whirlwind of activity, sites, and educational experiences. The days are long but the trip is short. Always worth it!
So educational and inspiring for our daughter!
Greece was INCREDIBLE. I think most of the people in my tour were most excited for Italy. Florence was fantastic, but we were all surprised by how breathtaking Greece was. The people, food, scenery, and CATS, made it so amazing!
This exceeded my expectations, I really wasn't sure when it came to the Ferry ride but it wasn't bad. Service on the ferry was great!
It is packed with culture and history
I was an adult chaperone on this trip to Italy and Greece. We enjoyed the trip, but I think there are some areas that could use some improvement. First, I think the flight coordination could be better. When returning from an 11 hour flight from Athens, Greece, a 5.5 hour layover in Charlotte, NC is absolutely exhausting and frustrating. Customs is way more expedited these days and does not take the time it used to. Second, our tour guide didn't seem to offer us a whole lot of information of the areas we were in while in Italy. The tour guide was from Greece, so when we were in Greece, she gave background information of the area while we were bus touring. I think the tour guides should be well versed on all locations on the tour. Third, while free-time is fun and lets you explore, too much free-time is not good either. The kids and adults were really struggling to find things to do in Rome, which then caused the kids to spend more money on shopping just for something to do. They were mostly all running low on funds before we even left for Greece. I did mention to the tour guide, Yota, that there isn't much the kids wanted to do for a second free time. She did respond to me that there are lots of places to go see and museums they could visit to get out of the heat. I told her that's great, but no one has any direction on any of this information so were very frustrated, and again low on funds. Lastly, being from the U.S. we are not customed to having to pay to use the restrooms. I would have like to have been told it would be best to exchange a little money so that we had Euro's when needed. Overall, we had a really great time on the trip, but just some things that could use attention.
Heard from my daughter (and she from others) that dinners werent good at all. Also, my daugther was not allowed to step away to use restroom. She was uncomfortable all through the bus ride. This in my view is not acceptable behavior from the tour director.
Our tour guide Laertis was AMAZING! 15/10. Absolutely phenomenal, we loved him! EF itself however messed up our room assignments which caused many issues throughout our tour. Our family was traveling as 2 adults and 2 children. We were told we could do a family room for 3, and the other adult could either room with other adults, or pay an upgrade to a single room. We chose to pay the upgrade. At the very first hotel, the kids were paired up with other kids instead of in our family room, and as soonas we realized that our guide started making changes for us. Luckily he was able to get it fixed. We had to get our rooms adjusted almost everywhere we went. At one point we were put in 1 room for all 4 (not the end of the world however not what we paid extra for) And on the cruise they completely messed it up. They got our single room correct, but instead of our family of 3 room, my 2 children were in a room with other travelers. And I was paired up with another parent. 1 of those nights, a child of the other parent got in trouble and I was woken up to a 2am phone call because our leader needed to contact that parent. Overall, we paid a lot of extra money on an already expensive trip to have rooming a specific way, and then did not get those accommodations most nights. This led to losing sleep on already short nights, stress of having to make changes everywhere we go, and again, the financial aspect that we paid for but didn't receive, as well as my younger son being uncomfortable with people he doesn't know getting very little sleep due to not feeling comfortable in his room.

Hotels and time cut all the time from our tour a whole day was cut and just overall not worth the money spent. Besides viewing the beautiful countries.
Best experience for my daughter and myself! We had the most amazing tour guide. Many thanks to Stelios for making a memory of a lifetime!!
