I give Barcelona and Madrid a 10! it was amazing. Tourist GUIDE BLANCA was the best!!!! NOW EF i will give you guys a 0. EF should be more knowledgable and more urgency on medical needs. I requested to have a fridge in every room due our medicine that needed to be in cool temp. 2nd HOTEL which I will rate as a 2 NASTY, Dirty and had no fridge and as I was instructed by EF that I can have front desk store in their fridge. Their fridge did not have the correct temp which caused me to lose our INSULIN which is basically " OUR LIFE." NOT EVEN a call from EF to see how my son and I are doing. The same way I was told that I needed to call EF to report any needs i would need during the trip, that is the same way you guys could of called to see how we were doing. The bus was another issue! how can you schedule a tour with a non working restroom and no outlets to charge our phones or medical devices. On a 6 hrs bus drive from Barcelona to Madrid with no service--INSANE. I will not recommend EF to any one BLANCA made our trip better - thanks to her!!! She even went out her way to ensure my son and I were ok the rest of the trip (school staff as well)
My son Daniel had an amazing time. It was his first time out of the country. He felt safe and gained a wealth of knowledge about others and their culture.
Our trip to Spain was filled with magical moments, but was also very uncomfortable run in a Bootcamp style that I wish we had been informed about before going. Spain was filled with amazing sights and beautiful locations to see. However, I felt very poorly informed on how to pack/dress for this trip and how physically challenging and uncomfortable it was. I wish I had known more about how the trip would be run before we left so we could plan accordingly. Also, our group of 20 was grouped with other schools so we traveled as a group of 40+. The group meals for food were not good, pretty poor quality, I’m guessing because we were such a big group and hard to feed all at once. Our EF Spanish guide was informative and fun at times, but also uncaring & rude, especially if anyone got lost or couldn’t keep up with the group. Half the trip our hotel had no AC, since this was during summer it was very hot & uncomfortable. For middle school aged kids this trip was a bit rough to be honest, with required plans going very late and starting very early every day. Thankfully no one got lost for too long, and we were able to see a lot of beautiful places with nice local tour guides in Toledo & Barcelona. Our school group leader was very kind and nice, but not prepared or organized at all, as she seemed to not really know much more than we did about the planned trip. My daughter and I will remember this trip forever as a cultural experience where we saw so many beautiful places and didn’t have to worry much about translating or buying tickets etc, since it was all included by EF.
The guide tour is outdated. We could easily get audio app connection with phone. Instead of using the bus (6 hours drive) , the train might be more efficient (2 hours drive). Food - restaurants choices are not the best. Every night, my husband and son still ended up going out to eat at our own expense (after the meals provided) with their EFT tour friends.
Guides and location were great. Travel days were way too long to save. Hotel in Barcelona, not acceptable. Paired travelers from other locations, not idea. Ages pretty far off. Overall a good experience. I do think for cost, EF needs to polish it up a bit.
The tour guide was excellent. Everything else subpar. Save yourself the money and headache, book this trip on your own without a company and book local guides and tour during your time there. You’ll have a way better experience at a fraction of the cost.

Great cultural experience for students
My older teen son enjoyed seeing so many sites in Barcelona and Madrid! The tour was well organized. Hotels were comfortable. He would like to do another EF Tour. There are some areas for improvement. Meals were not so good with limited choices. Hotel in Barcelona was a little far out. His school group was combined with two others which we were not aware would be happening. This made for a rather large group that was hard to navigate efficiently through the sites and cities.
This is a good company but I think it could be more for what we paid for. Food was ok portions and need it to serve the 3x meals.
Beautiful places to visit and the food was delicious
Spain is a very old and beautiful country! Barcelona and Madrid are both beautiful cities! I would recommend this tour to others! I would do this tour again in a heartbeat!!!

The trip overall was a great tour and I highly recommend. The only thing I think the company should do differently is provide transportation for those on the group that do not go on optional excursions. For that that didn’t go, they had to walk for 5-6hrs in an unfamiliar city without a guide or find a way back to the hotel, at an additional cost.
This was a great tour. It was nice to be able to stay in the each place a little longer and not have many travel days. Every tour guide we had was knowledgeable and professional. The food was good and we loved the experiences such as learning to flamenco dance. Great balance between guided tours and free time. I think everyone’s favorite part was visiting Toledo. Overall, a great experience.
I loved it all! Tour guides were wonderful and took us to some really cool places that had very interesting stories to go with them! Hotels were nice, even had AC, food was good! I would definitely go on another EF educational tour!! Marney
As usual, the tour guide and local guides were fantastic. Where EF could improve are in the following areas; air travel, accommodations, and dinning. Our teacher-leader scheduled our departure airport as ATL in order to have a direct flight to Spain. Group members had to travel to ATL and still had a connection to make in Canada before departing to Spain. EF needs to do better. Also, putting four teenage girls in one hotel room is too crowded. I can handle the fact the EF puts their travelers in the outskirts, but travelers shouldn't also have less than par accommodations! Guests should be no more than three to a room, which is still crowded. Additionally, I would say our first night's meal in Barcelona was sub-par. I was disappointed in that meal. The other meals were fine, though not very specific to Spanish cuisine. Not much to learn educationally when it came to the cuisine. However, one meal that our tour guide arranged was authentic. Thanks to her, we had at least one meal that was typically Spanish. I would say breakfast at the hotels were the most typical Spanish cuisine, but beyond that, not so much. If I were to tour again, and I probably will not as retirement is on the horizon, I would most likely look to another tour company.
The tour guide was great. We did experience ants in our hotel room upon arrival to Barcelona. We did discuss with the front desk and we thought they handled them but they were back a few days later. Unfortunately it was rainy and we could not enjoy the beach. We toured the city and that was amazing, Gothic Quarter was my favorite. Food was so good. We moved on to Madrid via Zaragoza which was a beautiful scenic drive. My favorite experience in Madrid was the flamenco dancing show and lessons. Recommend this experience for others! Do recommend smaller groups though so that experiences are not limited. We couldn’t tour the inside of the palace because our group was too large. Instead, we got a grounds tour.
