Excellent!
This was an amazing trip! It is physically demanding but worth it in the end. If you are lucky enough to get a Tour Director like Andres, the trip will be exponentially better! He is native to Guanacaste, Costa Rica and is very proud of his country and wants to share it with you! The itinerary EF provides hits all the tourist attraction excursions that are all amazing once in a lifetime activities. However, Andres made sure our trip was not just exciting and filled with Instagram-able moments but filled with authentic moments that give a glimpse into life and culture in Costa Rica. These included two meals at local family homes, one of which was his own home in Guanacaste. He also arranged for all but two of our meals to be very authentic and traditional meals. Our group went on a questionnaire scavenger hunt in the town square of La Fortuna and got to talk to locals and get their perspectives. Andres even got a pinata for one of my travelers turning 18 on the trip! In the end, most, if not all, of the travelers in my group were appreciative, humble, and mentally tougher from this challenging but rewarding trip. Know before you go: Sunscreen and reapply, bug spray, HYDRATE, go to bed early every night to be ready for an early start, try everything, if you are over 200lbs (like me) know that there is an extra chest harness to go zip lining, ask if there is laundry service (Andres offered it to us), Croc shoes are NOT good for the hikes, you are going to get wet multiple times, and hope you get a Tour Director as good a Andres and a Bus driver as skilled as Tony.
Costa Rica was amazing. It was beautiful and the people were friendly. We were one with nature which was great. Very welcoming. Very informative and educational. Definitely recommend this tour to all. You won’t be disappointed
My students and I enjoyed this tour so much. I loved the coffee and chocolate tours. My students had a blast ziplining, whitewater rafting, and kayaking. We saw so many animals, which was impressive. We saw sloths, monkeys, dart frogs, crocodiles, and sea turtles. Our lodging and food was always great, too. As was our tour director. He was very knowledgeable and organized.
The best experience ever! Thank you for being on point in every aspect!

The excursions were tons of fun, especially white water rafting. We loved ziplining, hot springs, kayaking, and the tours. The hotels were great. The kids loved the pools. The food was excellent.

Our daughter had a fantastic experience with the tour. She loved the interactions and all the educational programs and visits provided. She spoke positively of all the guides and the food. She didn't miss her cell phone at all!

Heidy the tour director, Senor Eric the driver, and Jenny the tour coordinator were all fantastic! We completed exciting high adventure activities every day and had some great educational tours as well. Everyone had a wonderful time. The food was great for most meals with decent variety to choose from, even for special diets.
The tour guide was excellent. The activities were well-planned and age appropriate. All of it was fun!
My son had an amazing trip. He came home talking about all of the different animals they saw and all of the new things he learned.

Exciting activities, knowledgeable tour director and local guides, entertaining and educational. Our trip to Costa Rica had it all. I plan to take students again since it was so much fun for the kids.
Our tour was amazing! Our group leader (Amy) helped us every step of the way, from getting information about the opportunity, to setting up payment plans and getting passports, to providing us with all the info we needed to make it a successful trip. We had everything we needed and really very little that we didn't, so we were able to successfully spend 8 days away from home traveling outside the USA with just a carry-on bag. She was patient and kind (our group had 40 people) the entire trip and it was fun, exhilarating, and relaxing. Carlos was a fabulous tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable about Costa Rica, has a great sense of humor, and arranged for additional activities that we all enjoyed. He made sure we had a good time, learned a lot, and kept us safe. Robert was an amazing bus driver, and if you have ever rode a bus in a foreign country, you know what we mean! Absolutely zero issues with safety and our stuff was secure on the bus when we did activities and had to leave it. We went whitewater rafting, ziplining, tours to coffee, cocoa, and pineapple plantations, slept in the rainforest with howler monkeys, snorkeling, and plenty of shopping. We saw a great deal of the beautiful country and wouldn't change a thing. The only issues we had were coming home, our connecting flight was booked too close to landing and customs takes FOREVER. Had it not been for bad weather that delayed our pilots of the connecting flight, we'd have spent the night in the airport. My only recommendation to EF is to provide several hours when returning from international travel to ensure there is plenty of time to get through customs.
Even with storms the trip was exciting and memorable.
My child was given the opportunity to travel independently and experience a new country and culture. The activities were well planned and allowed her to conquer her fears. She has gained lifetime memories and made new friends! Thank you!

The tour gave a taste of adventure and culture and I know all my students had an amazing experience. I will be back for sure!
