Visiting Japan was amazing or ‘sugokattadesu’ ! I saw a lot of places in a very short amount of time. I really enjoyed the tea ceremony and golden chopsticks activity. The bullet train from Kanazawa to Tokyo was cool! We did spend too much time walking around markets and visiting various shopping malls. I would have preferred to have spent an afternoon at the Expo in Osaka or an afternoon at the Tokyo National Museum.
Ecellent trip
We had a wonderful and safe experience in Japan from beginning to end
Wonderful! We signed up our two kids and immediately had FOMO and we both signed up too! Our tour guide and host made this tour seamless! With 39 ppl there are a lot opportunities for things to go sideways. But they were on top of the details, had clear communication, and we felt secure that we would know what to do and when. We thought the hotels were comfortable (Japan hotels are TINY), the food was okay (we ended up going to some nicer places on our own but our kids loved it), and the activities where well planned. I can not believe how much we covered in 11 days! We loved it so much we plan to go on another tour in summer of 2026!
It was a once in a lifetime experience that my kids won't stop talking about.
My daughter had an incredible experience.
Experience Japan was my third trip with EF and my first experience tour. My group thoroughly enjoyed them - we participated in a traditional tea ceremony, gilded our chopsticks, and completed a Zen meditation! Our tour director, Kiki, met us online well before the trip and was responsive to dietary needs and allergies as well as to our tours physical needs. We travel for spring break, which typically provides excellent weather and avoids the heat. It was peak cherry blossom season, which meant larger crowds, but it was worth it. Accommodations, food, and experiences were top-notch. I already have our next tour planned for spring 2026!
The experience was amazing from start to finish. We saw and did so many incredible things! Tomoe, Danielle Daly and Megan Shook all deserve raises!!! Tomoe from before we hit the ground, we already felt like she was part of our tour family. She reached out to us, set up a WhatsApp group for everyone to be part of, sent us messages about what to expect, answered questions before we arrived, sent us pictures she took of us while on tour, and listened to us when we had suggestions. Megan has been with me for a couple years now and she was FANTASTIC helping to make sure everything ran smoothly. Danielle Daly was in communication with one of our travelers that lost her passport before we left and helped and pushed to make sure she had the information she needed to get a new passport and pushed for her to have the resources she needed once her and her daughter landed in Japan to be reconnected to our group. I've led 4 EF tours now and this by far was the best overall experience and the smoothest running tour I've ever had the privilege of being part of.
This was an excellent experience for my travelers, chaperones, and for me as the group leader. The pace was fast because our schedule was packed with interesting experiences, but it was a great introduction to Japan! We did things like meditating in a Buddhist temple, making gold leaf chopsticks, and attend a traditional tea ceremony. These are things we probably would not get to do if we were on vacation in Japan. Also, when medical emergencies arose, our tour director and the EFT support team provided the resources we needed to take care of everyone. It was a wonderful experience!
Tour guides offer little time in popular areas that seem to have lots to offer, as compared to giving a lot of time in areas that are lower quality and do not offer things to do.
Great first travel experience!
It’s a beautiful place. Would love to go again.
I think this experience was worth it. My son came back super happy. He learned so much and was so happy. I think he made memories that will last him a lifetime.
So much fun that I didn’t wanna leave! I would definitely go on another trip with EF Tours.
EF tours takes care of all of it. The trip was nice not to have to worry about all the accommodations, the when's and the where's.
The TD Junko-San made the experience 💯 best.
Great trip! The only thing I would change is the hotel in Kanazawa. It was unacceptably dirty. I had to buy wipes to clean down the room. All the rooms smell of smoke and the plumbing does not work well. Talking to others on the trip, this seems to be the norm for all rooms. I would suggest finding a different hotel. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the trip!
Excellent experience Service
My son's tour was ruined by a group of highschoolers that made them late to everything and we're incredibly rude. He felt that the locals were very nice until that group was added to theirs. I realize it probably saved the company a bunch of money, but we paid a lot for this trip and it should've been a great experience.
