Horrible add on experience and no resolution or sincerity or attempt to aide in correcting . Below is email I sent with nothing. Emailed EF on 7/6- Hello, I am writing regarding two issues we experienced during our recent tour and would appreciate your assistance in resolving them. 1. Meal Reimbursement We were informed that EF provides or pays for two meals per day (ideally breakfast and dinner). On days when EF was unable to provide dinner due to scheduled events or excursions, our Tour Director gave each traveler $20–$25 in cash so that we could purchase our own meal. However, on July 5, EF provided only breakfast. Neither lunch nor dinner was provided by EF. We had purchased the optional luau excursion, which included dinner, meaning we paid for that meal ourselves. As a result, EF ultimately provided only one meal that day instead of the two meals included in our tour. Since our dinner was covered through an excursion that we paid for separately, we believe EF should have either provided reimbursement for lunch or covered the cost of lunch that day. Our Tour Director agreed with this assessment and advised us to contact EF directly regarding reimbursement. Please let us know how EF plans to address this issue. 2. Luau Excursion on July 5 We were also very disappointed with the luau excursion, as the experience did not match the description of what we purchased. A few examples include: • The excursion description stated that we would enjoy "a starry night outside." Instead, the event was held inside a shopping mall, which was completely different from what was advertised. • Rather than an authentic outdoor luau experience, shoppers stood around the venue watching the performance for free while we, as paying guests, felt like we were on display. This was not the atmosphere we expected when paying $130 per person for the excursion. • The excursion advertised an unlimited traditional Hawaiian feast, but this was not what was provided. We were given only a small amount of pineapple, and they quickly ran out. The description also mentioned a variety of fruits, but only limited pineapple was available. • The meal description included fish, pork, and vegetables. However, we were served only pulled pork. No fish or vegetables were provided. • Additionally, the food was cold, lacked flavor, and was, unfortunately, nearly inedible. Overall, the excursion did not resemble the traditional outdoor Hawaiian luau that was advertised. During our time in Hawaii, we saw many advertisements for authentic outdoor luaus, making it even more disappointing that the excursion we purchased was held indoors in a mall and failed to deliver the experience that was represented. This was an optional add-on costing $130 per person, and we do not believe we received the experience that was advertised or paid for. We are confident that other travelers may have similar concerns. We respectfully ask that EF review both of these issues and work with us to make this right. We have trusted EF for many years and have enjoyed traveling with your organization. We hope to continue doing so in the future, and we would appreciate your consideration in reaching a fair resolution. We look forward to your response and to hearing how EF intends to address these concerns. Thank you for your time and attention.
Our daughter had the time of her life traveling to New Zealand and Australia to experience the wonder of another continent. She met an awesome group of kids in her group. She was well care for by her chaperones. It was the trip of a lifetime.
We had a wonderful experience we highly recommend taking this trip!! Lincoln Miller tour guide was amazing. He went above and beyond and helping everyone.
The best trip ever!
Overall the experience was great, and my son loved it all. There were some hiccups with flights for some of our group and one of our hotels didn't have heat, but our Group Leader and Clint worked it all out calmly. It was a fantastic trip!
Wonderful experience! Tour guide was amazing
Amazing tour from start to finish.
Tour was amazing. Our tour guide was awesome!
The best part of the experience was our tour guide, Ronan McChesney. He is really incredible - would love to have the opportunity to take another of his tours one day. The less positive aspect of the trip were the hotel accommodations - most of the hotels were very dated.
Our son had a fantastic experience. Trip of a lifetime for sure.
A lot of great activities and the tour guide was excellent.
Our EFTour guide was fantastic from the first day she made a connection with each of us. The was was rigorous and she work tireless to keep us on schedule but also making us slower travelers feel good. She was so knowledgeable I learned so much. I highly recommend taking this tour.
I loved it and I would recommend it to any student looking to expand their knowledge about the world.
I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent EF Tours experience. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience, and I would not choose to travel with EF again. The most frustrating part was paying for activities over the cost of the tour. I paid close to $1,500 USD, which I did not sign up for. , I also learned that some experiences that were supposed to be included were either not available or not provided to our group. As a parent, and on behalf of our travel group, I would like EF Tours to acknowledge these shortcomings and provide an appropriate response. We invested a considerable amount of money and trusted EF to deliver a well-organized, enjoyable educational experience. Unfortunately, the trip fell far short of our expectations. I would appreciate hearing how EF plans to address these concerns.
This tour was absolutely amazing! I have led 7 other EF tours, but none have been quite this exciting and energetic. Our days were packed with cultural experience and amazing sights. We snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. We ride the skyrail (gondolas) for 5 miles over the rainforest. We hiked in a rainforest and learned how to throw boomerangs. We attended a Maori Hangi Feast and learned all about their culture. We visited a geothermal Maori village. Some of us ziplined in the canopy in New Zealand and some climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge! Our guide, Brad, was amazing. He taught the kids all about mateship and it was so cool seeing it in practice as he bonded with my students and they bonded with each other.
Magical!!
Great tour. The Great Barrier Reef excursion was amazing. Seeing the sights with our local tour director was key.
Great experience, fun itinerary, well organized!
Really enjoyed all the amazing things we got to do. Our tour guide was wonderful!
