My son had an incredible experience traveling to Japan with EF Tours! As a parent, it’s always a little nerve-wracking sending your child halfway across the world, but EF made the process organized and reassuring from start to finish. The itinerary gave the students the opportunity to experience Japan’s history, culture, food, and daily life in a way they never could have from a classroom. My son came home with amazing memories, new friendships, and a greater appreciation for another culture. He also grew in confidence and independence during the trip, which was priceless to see. The tour directors and staff did a wonderful job keeping the group moving while still making the experience fun and engaging. Communication throughout the trip helped put my mind at ease, and I truly appreciate all the work that went into making this opportunity possible. I would absolutely recommend EF Tours to other families. It was an unforgettable experience that my son will carry with him for the rest of his life.
Our family of three recently completed the EF STEM Tour to Japan, followed by a week exploring Japan on our own. Our tour director, Ryoji, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, organized, patient, and genuinely passionate about sharing his country. His insights into Japanese culture, history, transportation, and daily life added tremendous value and prepared us to confidently explore Japan on our own after the tour. One thing I appreciated most was how EF handled both food allergies and unexpected circumstances. Traveling with children who have food allergies can be stressful, but EF did an excellent job coordinating meals and communicating dietary needs throughout the trip. That gave me tremendous peace of mind and allowed us to simply enjoy the experience. During our tour, typhoons affected the weather. Rather than simply canceling activities, the team adjusted the itinerary to keep everyone safe while still making the most of our time. If I had one suggestion, it would be to build a little more free time into the schedule at a few locations. Japan has so much to explore, and occasionally we wished we had another hour to browse local shops or enjoy the surroundings before moving on to the next destination. I would also recommend that future travelers consider booking the land-only tour and arranging their own flights. The tour itself was excellent, but booking airfare through EF provides less flexibility if you need to request special assistance, make seating changes, upgrade your flight, or work directly with the airline. For mature travelers, anyone with mobility concerns, or families traveling with someone who may need accommodations, having direct control over your airline reservation can make the travel experience much easier. I would absolutely recommend EF Tours to families looking for a structured, educational, and well-organized introduction to Japan. If you’re traveling with parents or anyone who may need additional assistance, I recommend choosing the land-only option and booking your airfare separately for added flexibility.
