Very well organized, packed a lot into nine days, my son said it was the trip of a lifetime! The flights were terrible: 5:20am departure (so 3:30 arrival) at an airport 2.5 hours away from our house. Most families had to book a hotel and spend the night which didn't make any sense, there were later flights and we have an airport 30 minutes away from us. Then a 9pm (delay outside of EF control) arrival at the same airport, so a five hour roundtrip drive to pick up our kids.
What an incredible opportunity to give back and to tour country at the same time. We took incredible memories home with us and we left baby mangroves to help stabilize a bank side and provide habitat to wildlife and protection to local communities. Thank you EF!
The authenticity of this trip and the learning components were so seamlessly integrated. There is so much thought put into these tours. I am obsessed, and cannot wait for my next one.
This was excellent
This trip was awesome!! The activities were well thought out and gave students a glimpse of all the amazingness that Costa Rica has to offer. I personally prefer the Service Learning or Immersion trips because I think they offer the richest experience. This tour did not disappoint! We loved our project, and it felt really gratifying to make a difference. The other activities flowed really well to keep students busy and happy, not not overloaded. Highly recommend!
My son absolutely loved his time in Costa Rica! He wants to go back and take the same tour again because he had such a great time (and he wants his family to experience everything that he did). They addressed problems immediately (including moving to a new hotel when there was a power outage at one hotel). It was an amazing experience for him!
The kids loved learning about conservation in Costa Rica and they actually got to replant mangroves.
My experience was a trip of a lifetime. Our tour guide, Jose, and our driver, Harold, were amazing. He really went above and beyond for our group.

What a phenomal way to see the world and give back at the same time. Planting mangroves was project that would not normally be accessible to city kids!

Outstanding conservation trip! Students were fully engaged, unplugged, and created wonderful lasting memories and experiences.

Very Expensive, disorganized, lack of details / information, my child was expected to share a room with 3 others including sharing beds with people they didn’t know very well! Unacceptable!

Regarding the room-sharing arrangements, we strive to accommodate all participants comfortably. Student travelers are expected to share a room with 2 to 3 other travelers on tour and share a bed. However, we apologize if the arrangements did not meet your expectations. Please know any traveler who may be uncomfortable with this may request a room upgrade prior to departure for an additional fee.
