This is not transparent as you don’t…

This is not transparent as you don’t know what you are signing up for. I signed for a year but within three weeks it became clear they had few eligible matches within my 8- year parameters. I asked for a refund and was refused - and told not to be so narrow as to wish to meet someone living within less than 60 miles of me. Implying, it’s my fault not their lack of service.

More than doubled price on renewal

I paid £114.72 in August 2025 for an annual policy. I was contacted by the fraud department of my bank on 11th August 2026 saying they were requesting a payment of £286.80. I told them that this was fraud as I wasn’t expecting a bill for such a large amount. Auto-renewal or not they should have told me in advance of this increase (just as energy and phone companies do). The amount appeared to have been paid around 16th August so I contacted my banks fraud department who said it shouldn’t have been paid and challenged the payment via the banking system and refunded me £286.80.

I consider this a subscription scam, exactly the sort of thing our Prime Minister has said should be stamped out. I’m appalled and will be writing to the BBC and other appropriate authorise to report this.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. I cancelled within the 14-day cancellation period (24 hours to be exact) yet eHarmony charged me an additional £65 for a “Personality Profile” I never knowingly chose to purchase.

Customer service simply hides behind the small print and refuses to refund it.

Judging by the huge number of similar reviews, I’m clearly not alone. I only wish I’d checked Trustpilot before signing up.

I’ll now be disputing the £65 charge with my bank.

Avoid.

Short term reasonable, then total waste of money

The site provides a good level of functionality to set-up your profile. The way the preferences are applied is totally random, resulting in suggested matches out-side of profile I set-up, the distance criteria is not applied in practice.
In the first week, you are likely to receive a lot of matches, my experience is that a high proportion of the profiles are inactive, no response to messages.
If you are going to subscribe to the site, sign up for the minimum period only, as there is no way to cancel and long term subscription.

Eharmony is designed to cheat people…

Eharmony is designed to cheat people and take money . Beware of this website and avoid joining. They are only worried about getting money. Most of profiles are created by them they are not real .

Beware of misleading cancellation policy…

I decided to cancel my subscription after a few hours since . I felt I probably wasn't in the right frame of mind to date..2. I didn't agree with some of the personality profiling.

A 14 day money back guarantee was mentioned so I thought I was safe. Instead of refunding me the £8 I'd paid, they immediately charged me an extra £57 towards the profile they created as ' it is not free for basic membership'. At no point before or during the questionnaire was it made clear that the profiling questionnaire was a chargeable service. There was mention in the small print about being charged for services used but £65 seems out of proportion and unfair. They refused my appeal.

Then they offered my 60% discount. When I asked if I'd be refunded the £65 I paid in total for the personality profile if I became a premium member using the discount.. they changed their reasons for the £65 charge to the fact that I'd logged in!

E-harmony's cancellation policy is unclear and takes advantage of misleading small print.

Feeling scammed.

It took nearly a year but I met a wonderful partner

It took me almost a year but I met a great match for me and we've been together two years and are going from strength to strength. I think their matching process is very good as our values are very aligned. But you need to be in a City to have a reasonable pool of matches within travelling distance. You also need to be savy when signing up - wait for them of offer you a deal before joining Premium (otherwise you'll pay a lot more than you need to). And make sure you stop it auto-renewing.

Very poor detail T & Cs related

Very poor detail T & Cs related , 14 day cool off period/cancellation policy is a scam , do get the information about yourself on the app to then download for clients to view has to be done , how else would you get any interested parties

They say , as we have created you profile which is unique to you , this has cost us money ( Eharmony ) ? and we cant use again , ? well of course you cant , its my unique profile , why would i create something that is not related to me ?

I cancelled in around 24 hours from the new subscription date as the clients under my search were very little in my selected area so would not hope and prey so just cancelled , in doing so , the took £65.00 and did not return despite asking the customer care department to do this , refund my monies

HONESTLY-DO NOT TOUCH THIS DATING PLATFORM , no interest in your genuine reason to cancel , they simply did not bother one little bit.

Tested for two days and wanted to…

Tested for two days and wanted to cancel, they deducted extra £53 claiming that they sent me a report that I can use. I did not ask for the report and the cancelation policy is very vague only mention they are entitled to deduct reasonable amount of money with zero extra details. A complete rip off
