Been a customer for a few years and was brilliant in the beginning.Then the credit card was withdrawn.
Then my account was suspended 'pending the next review' This has been like this for months! My affordability and credit score have not worsened..There is even a nil balance on my account (which was cleared quite a while ago).My payment history has been flawless.
Elfin, please don't reply with the stock answer that you've used to reply to other similar reviews...I've read it!!

In the beginning all went smooth and nice . I used some of the credit and paid all in time . After few months they asked me to "review" the status and connect to my bank to check all my transactions. I refused as I saw no reason to let them do that .After few days all was blocked and was told I cannot use it any more . All good with me but they praise themselves to be very different . They are not , the same type of brute financial institution with no respect for anything

Customer service is almost non-existent. It takes ages for them to respond and even longer for a response to a follow-up. I will request account closure soon - no point staying with them - even this request might even take ages to be processed.

So I emailed them asking for help. First time 9 days ago. Then 6 days then 2 days. Absolutely nothing. I cancelled my DD with them and the email me asking why???? Unbelievably bad communication grom them as always. I need to start a repayment plan with them and they ignore me. By the way still charging me 46% APR Never has it gone down even though every credit card company Has lowered there rate to me. Avoid at all costs. Choose Zable, or Zopa if you need to borrow and like me dont have the best of credit ratings. They wont like this review, but they might actually contact me now.

They've Given Up,
I really loved the idea, never missed payments, and like many others had restrictions on my account after a year or so of use. The customer service did then provide a solution which was appreciated.
However, since then I have been plagued with technical issues. Asked for a complaint to be raised which they didn't do. Then when a complaint was finally raised they failed to follow their guidelines in response. I am still awaiting a response but it's likely I will go to the Financial Ombudsman regarding their service as they are happy to ignore the issues.
It's a shame that an idea with such potential has seemingly been given up. Irrespective of lending criteria etc which is understood, the support is lacking.

Very bad company, was great at the start but now locks accounts for no reason and don’t reply to emails in a timely fashion - It’s has been more than 6 month since they locked my account - I cant see no data from the credit reference agency’s to indicate you have actively or correctly checked my credit files in this time - all payments to you have been effective with no failed payments, no affordability checks have been completed by yourselves, I still suspect what you have done is not professional to a existing good customer, I will be reporting this to the FCA as the treatment from you is disgusting - warning to any new customers, first they appear to be great and a few years they will lock your account and blame affordability checks which is a complete load of lies, they will take ages to reply, just look at the amount of bad reviews - steer clear

I've been using Elfin Market for a few years now and it's been a great experience overall. The customer service is always responsive and helpful. I’ve been especially impressed by the quality of their app, it's smooth, reliable, and easy to use.
Been unhappy with this e since the interest rates went up I have paid my account in full and been trying to close my account sent numerous emails with the same answer that they are looking into this it’s been over a week trying to contact this company I don’t owe any money but it’s still showing up payments due over the next 15 months of 3 p interest per month I am in no debt all I want to do is close this account I will be reporting this company if I don’t get a response very soon

Total incompetent internal procedures.
The company is too small to keep on top of chasing fixes to errors in their systems.
Balances show in my lender account but nothing when I look into my different sub accounts.
Several loans paid off last month. Moved part inside the ISA. Slow service from EM who replied service level rules not breached as though the duration limit is a work to date and not an end stop point.
The rest was sat in cash until more loans have redeemed when the system decided, with no input from me, to invest the original funds into something I cannot see.
The customer service functions answers show that the platform operates on a throw the problem over the wall and forget it principle rather than proactive liaison with their systems people to hurry the fix along.
Evidence exists that this issue has been raised by someone else this year. The company, or it's system suppliers, seems not to have made the fix failsafe.
Expect long lead times to remove/ reinvest funds as they mature.
2/6 still in progress.
Shame, I really thought this platform was going to be a longer term investment vehicle for me.

Yet another bad review coming up. They dont respond to emails for days. The Open banking system STILL isn't working so the lied about that 3 months ago. I wish I hadn't got involved with this company. Take my money every month with ridiculous high interest rate.

Was great at first , borrowed small amounts at first , always paid back and on time. I acessed my account last year to a message saying they had suspended borrowing on the account until they could perform an affordability check with my bank. More than once i attempted to supply the details but the checks were never completed, i was always asked to try again. .
I attempted another check just today , this time it went through however, despite an excellent credit file, over 40000 a year going in and only owing elfin just over £200 i was told my account was still suspended.
Thats fine, their loss. Once the balance is settled the account will be closed.

Very good. Got a cheap rate 14.8%, much cheaper than my credit card and app is very efficient.
I've been with Elfin for a while now and have nothing but good things to say. User friendly and transparent app with consistent returns for my investments.
Great platform
Love this app. No fuss, no hidden costs, and all very simple and transparent. Rate increased a bit recently but still lower than my barclays credit card by far so will keep using it! Would recommend!
Customer service misadvised me, take ages to respond - and they've given me wrong financial information. This place used to decent but god it's awful. Avoid. Completely avoid.

A shockingly poor experience with CS. I updated the preferred direct debit date four months ago to reflect my new employment payday. A month later I got a missed payment reminder. Checked the app and my bank account and confirmed the payment should have been taken on time, but it wasn't. I wrote to CS via email as there is no other way to communicate with the company, and they have only replied once to request confirmation of my account details. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this issue, I have had to start the complaints process, which will likely end up with the ombudsman. Judging from the other recent reviews, it is apparent that these cowboys quickly outgrew themselves and their ability to provide a proper service.
