Don't buy backpack folding chair...

Bought the backpack folding chair and it is the most uncomfortable chair I have ever used. The steel frame is not padded, only the seat, so when you lean back against it you have the hard steel pressing against you. The instructions are convoluted and to fold you basically have to pull it apart. Customer service unhelpful. Don't bother buying as you can't return it!

Ordered the BackJack Meditation Folding…

Ordered the BackJack Meditation Folding Chair only to find that it is contrary to its advertising, it is difficult to assemble, uncomfortable and does not fold easily (have to disassemble to fold. Most importantly, once you open the package they will not accept returns and provide a refund. Tried to resolve with EMP Industrial but they shut me down. Very dissatisfied customer. Will never purchase from this company again.

What a ripoff

What a ripoff. I bought a polypropylene chair mat, (used to protect carpet), in January 2022 for $129 plus $34.50 freight. Now in March 2024 the same mat is $185.90 plus $95.96 freight. The mat went up 44% and the frieght increased by 178%.

Postage quoted was wildly excessive

I liked the range of products offered on their website, but the postage quoted was wildly excessive. On questioning I found out they use Australia post rather than couriers, hence the high cost. Even very small companies that I buy from use couriers - not sure why EMP doesn't. They did say they were unable to offer any other delivery options.

Misleading and Deceptive???

The company provides shipping costs only after the purchase, claiming, among other things, "many" companies who ship in bulk use that practice. My order was for a mat, which isn't bulk, and companies I've used to purchase everything from furniture to computers, which are bulk, provide shipping costs at the time of purchase. #Disingenuous

You'll be fine unless you need to claim on a warranty.

I purchased a polycarbonate chair mat from EPM Industrial Australiasia. The purchase and delivery process indicated no problems and the product came with a much-vaunted 10 year warranty. The warranty came with some extensive conditions, primarily: don't use any chemicals on the chair mat, or else the warranty is voided.

No issues with that.

However, after 30 months, the mat developed some full-depth cracks and I contacted the company about it. I happily provided them with photos, and after a short time was told in a fairly rude email that they would not be honouring the warranty because my photos represented "crazed cracking" (they have a photo on their website which looks nothing like what I was seeing).

The email (which was clearly a copy & paste job) said that the mat had come into contact with some chemicals and that I could buy a new one at a small discount. However, (direct quote from the end of the email):
"Other than your acceptance of our offer above I regret I cannot help you further (in correspondence nor by phone) with a claim on warranty for this type of crazed cracking".

In my opinion and based on my experience I think that they create an unprovable situation to avoid having to replace the mats that have failed by saying that there must be chemicals in the carpet. Further, my feeling is that unless you've bought a bunch of mats it's probably not worth pursuing this (which I assume they bank on).

Based on my experience, I'd say this company does not deserve your business and their warranty conditions are specifically designed to avoid ever having to replace a mat. There are plenty of other places to buy chair mats, so go with them.
