The bottom line is don't be in a rush. Once you have settled in your mind that the process takes as long as it takes, you will then be able to relax and look forward to your mounted medals.
I am so thrilled with my display. The photo of my grandad and his 3 WW2 medals has been cleaned and mounted properly. It looks great. All my family love it, and his achievement in WW2 is now rightly preserved for future generations.
Empire medals listen carefully to your instructions, the staff liaise with you - and I guarantee you will be delighted with the end product - but as I said it takes time.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I needed ribbons on a bar at short notice. I telephoned Empire medals at 10.20 on Friday, 17th January, 2025 explained my problem to Joe and less than 24 hours later my new ribbons arrived.

Empire Medals were so professional from start to finish, I was so pleased when I got my grandfather’s WW2 medals returned, cleaned, re-ribboned and mounted in the frame I’d chosen along with his photograph in his uniform. When I saw my mother open it up in Christmas Day the look on her face beaming with pride reaffirmed that I made the right decision sending the medals to Empire Medals.

All well with this order but a little bit slow.
Still have an with a previous order from a few years ago to be sorted out and corrected. But still a good service from the company.

The item that I ordered arrived promptly and was exactly as described, it’s a good quality product.

Ordered a frame for Christmas. Called them a week before as not arrived ( they are very busy). The person I spoke to was polite, helpful and courteous. My frame was here within 2 days and the recipient was overjoyed with it. Can't recommend this company enough. Fantastic!!

I ordered a bust to be shipped to the U.S. The process was smooth and the bust got to me in time for the holidays.

Placed order for two simple ribbon bars early Nov 2024.
No sign of them.
Email requesting update was a generic “we are busy so don’t keep messaging”.
Called phone number, with no answer.

I’d be careful in choosing Empire medals.
I bought a single medal with engraving but the engraving was misspelt on checking the order I had spelt my own name correctly !
They said they would replace the medal but as I was sending in my medals to be mounted we agreed to keep the medal and mount it

I ordered the mounting service months in advance of Remembrance Day but as per my telephone e conversation they agreed and I wrote on the letter accompanying my medals that they should be ready 31 October .

This day came and went with no sign of my medals so I rang the company they hadn’t even started them !!!
They agreed to start them that day but said I was missing a medal ! Oh no they kept the medal that was a replacement ! After much searching for emails and being asked the name of the person I spoke to ( who remembers that months later ) they finally agreed to supply the medal and mounted it with the others .

Eventually I received the medals on the very day I was leaving to go to the Cenotaph in London .

In summary, I felt properly messed about and got the impression this was a shambolic company . I had to prove what was agreed on the phone after they made a mistake then when we agreed to get the medals to me by 31 October ( sending them months in advance) and I reminded them in my letter , it didn’t happen .

There are many medal mounting services out there this may or may not have been a one off occurrence for this company but I’d think twice before using them

Awful customer service!

I placed an order on 10/11/24. As of today I still haven’t received anything and my requests for a refund have been completely ignored. The event I needed these items for has been and gone and I’ve been left extremely disappointed.

This company appears to be struggling a bit in recent months. Their website said there was a six-week turnaround for mounting medals, so I ordered a do-it-yourself mounting kit a couple of weeks ahead of November's Remembrance parade, and my payment was taken. I heard nothing for a week and a half, so I followed up, reminding them that I only wanted a do-it-yourself kit (brooch, loose lengths of ribbon and fixings), so no six-week mounting turnaround required from them. I received what I assumed was a generic email, reminding me of the six-week period for medal mounting and telling me that they were experiencing a heavy work load due to Remembrance and recent release of Coronation Medals, and asking me to refrain from following up on orders. Six weeks after placing the order, I had heard nothing more, so I emailed to cancel the order and ask for a refund. Two days later, most of my order arrived, missing one item, but including an printed invoice/despatch note showing the full order. As of 12 December I have had no further explanation.

I don’t normally post whinging reviews but I’ve made an exception for Empire Medals.
I’ve use the same company since the 90’s, they unfortunately have retired which cause me to search elsewhere.
I genuinely found Empire Medals to be very poor.
I ordered a nine ribbon medal bar.
This took over two months. My update requests which I left until month one and again month two received a generic reply several days later with no actual update. My last email almost two weeks ago has not actually been replied to. In fairness just over a week later the ribbons were dispatched. Only to find one is missing a clasp. If they didn’t have the clasp (which again in fairness is relatively rare) however this is their job, the time to tell me was during the process. I’ve emailed to try and get a refund only to receive a generic we’re busy as it’s remembrance coming up, it’s December that was last month.
I will most definitely not be using thr company to court Mount my hard earned medals. I totally understand that November is busy and I did expect a delay. But I feel this was excessive, with very poor, late and off hand communication with the eventual item being incorrect and me potentially out of pocket.

I would avoid this company at all costs, it was just over 9 weeks before the medals initially finally came back and then with an error that required me returning the medals back. Said that they would refund this postage, but of course did not. Their communication is terrible, I had to ring them up after a week just to ask if they had received my medals,then again to tell them of the error. Empire Medals had missed off a bar on one of my medals. I sent them a picture of the medals before and one of them when they were returned, so they definitely had the bar. I was not going to write a negative review just leave it down to experience and a busy period. However, the whole process has been stressful and I was really concerned that my medals would be lost. I for one will certainly not use Empire medals again.
