We had the displeasure of having Enact…
We had the displeasure of having Enact assigned to us as part of our free legal remortgage product with Nationwide. From the outset, we received our documents to sign and return, which we opted to simply upload to the portal to save time, given Royal Mail's current state, we couldn't gain access to Enact's portal, where, after 2 weeks of being told to check for emails which never arrived, we eventually got referred over to their IT team, who gave us access to our portal, from there the service just got worse. We uploaded our documents, didn't hear anything for the following couple of weeks, then after I phoned up to chase for a status update, I was told that the mortgage deed could not be uploaded to the portal, and that I would need to post this back. I did this, a couple of weeks later, I got a message telling me the deeds were wrong, so we sent back another copy, then the response to that was that the redemption statement has expired over a month ago, so Enact would be requesting another, a week later they received this, and shock...there's another issue with our Mortgage Deed. I would STRONGLY advise looking at this conveyancer's reputation before choosing to place your mortgage with them, as you'll be extending the process by months, and reducing your life expectancy by the same amount. Not a single phone call from the conveyancers to apologise, or update us, the only time we get a human response is when we want to raise a complaint. Avoid like the plague.

Do not use this company, it will cost you more!
Do not use this company, I cannot stress this enough. They were offered 'free' by Halifax for my re-mortgage but with hindsight I should have said no and employed a proper solicitor. Admittingly that would have cost me money, but no doubt less than the circa £2000 of extra interest Enact caused me due to their inability to complete my mortgage! Numerous opportunities to complete but countless excuses from them as to why not which postponed the whole process by 6 weeks.
