Unwarranted spam mails

They keep bugging me with their annoying spam mails, that I never subscribed for.

Hey True User,

Thank you for letting us know. We currently have 300+ active EngagementBoost affiliates which use a variety of different marketing methods to get people to sign up through their link. If you look closely, these emails are not coming from the www.engagementboost.com domain.

Affiliates are external to our core organization and earn money through sending their unique signup link which earns them 30% commission off of every customer that joins through it - recurring monthly. You can learn more about this here: engagementboost.com/affiliate

Unfortunately, we cannot control how these 300+ external affiliates market our product, who they reach out to and what they do with their personal links. We do have marketing guidelines to limit misuse and try to enforce them as best we can, but it is extremely difficult to track this many affiliates and the way they promote EngagementBoost.

We appreciate your honesty and letting us know of this inconvenience.

Best regards,
EngagementBoost

Seemed Okay, Then Went Downhill... To a trickle

NEW REVIEW, CURRENT:
I downgraded the rating to 1.
We're managing our own account now.

We tried them for about 4.5 months so I feel this update is fair as of June 28 here's a recap:

We grew about +245 followers over 4.5 months.
Not sure the service is worth it, we were promised "accelerated speed" the longer we stuck with them, the followers actually DECLINED.

When asked why they said it was our targets. Mind you we also were given an "Account Manager" named "Alex".

1. Alex used to respond quicker when we first joined, then he started letting 1-2 days go by, then 2-3 days would go by, then 3-5 days go by before we heard a response. Sometimes we'd have to send multiple emails like woohoo, anyone there? Help...

2. One of the meetings he told me the reason we were getting trickling followers is their app got us shadow banned. They had to "wait" for some time sometimes 2-3 weeks out of a month would go by with 1-2 followers NOT GOOD -- that's not a very engagement boosty or great response.

When you are a new brand trying to launch time is the essence.

3. We were told we had a promising account that can grow engagement boost to the 1000's. To be clear, we were generally stuck around 680-795 for weeks before we discontinued their services.

4. The things in their onboarding video where users can control some of the settings you cannot do. Not sure what happened but buttons are FAKE and do NOT work *as shown in their videos to onboard. We recommend they change the videos that give false impression that users have any or much control over their dashboard settings.

5. Alex said he'd optimize our account and targets. That resulted in us getting Mexico, African, basically accounts that are not our target market and we gained spammy followers that's not even close to our niche in North America.

6. We were told by Sarah and Alex that we need to target less accounts... We literally had 20 out of 30 allotted targeted accounts. So, we got tired of hearing excuses that it's us, even though we paying them to manage and help us.

7. Towards the end it was practically no contact with Alex. We sent two request to cancel services. We never got a response. Thank goodness we use PAYPAL and from there our own account we canceled recurring fees.

Tip: DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD. If you choose to sign up, use PAYPAL so you can cancel anytime without the hassle.

CONCLUSION:
Cons:
- Something isn't right about the app.
It got us shadow banned and the followers kept reducing to a trickle.
- "Their Account Optimization" got us some followers, but they were a bunch of useless targets in locations we don't service as a new brand launching a new product this is CRITICAL to get a target audience.
- The assumption our account could grow into at a minimum 1000 engaged followers never happened after 4.5 mos.
- Alex was also very responsive till he wasn't, sometimes going for days. Communication went to a drip drop there too.
- No one responded to our cancelation request. No one. Thankfully we used PayPal and stopped recurring fees there.
- Engagement Boost is billing from Stim Social. This means whatever "reputation" was going on at Stim Social where they have poor reviews (see here on Trustpilot) is sadly now affecting Engagement Boost.

Pros:
It worked for awhile until it didn't. But that's not great considering we paid for services that were sub-par.

** Lastly, every single point I made in this review I have screenshots, videos and email threads over the 4.5 months so I have 100% proof about what I wrote. So their email rebuttal to my points is simply dismissive.... I have email proof where Alex didn't respond sometimes for 3-4+ days (consistently). If Trustpilot allowed screenshots, I could show response and lapse times via email and other info to support my review. They tried to rebuttal and say some things were slanderous. Oh really? Well, Trustpilot reached out to us to "verify" our claims, so guess what, we showed proof to Trustpilot who ended up "validating" this review. It is what it is. At the end of the day, save your money, just grow IG yourself. The funny part is I got an email days before I canceled the service from an affiliate of theirs who said they "Guarantee" they can grow my account into the thousands. That was funny. She had no idea that I was already at that time a client of Engagement Boost. "Thousands?" that was quite interesting. *I have that email too. Anyone wanna reach out to me for substantiate my proof I have it and will gladly share. I have absolutely nothing to hide.

By the way, I sent multiple requests to the "contact" email as instructed to cancel services back in June (NO response), so I decided to use PayPal to cancel. On July 22, Alex had NO IDEA as our "account manager" we had already canceled services and literally texted us that the payment didn't go thru. LOL. How funny...

Hey Two Sense,

Thank you for the review. Let us address all of your points here.

1. Alex replies to all emails within 1-2 business days. If you are emailing him on weekends, he is unavailable to respond. Additionally, sending him "multiple emails" will lead to a delayed response time, since every time you email us, it goes to the bottom of our priority list since we reply from 'Oldest to Newest.'

2. Our app cannot get you shadow-banned, this hasn't happened in over 20,000 clients that we've had - not even once in 5 years. I think you misunderstood what he may have said. Using the follow/unfollow method (what we do) does not get you shadow-banned, it's encouraged by IG and the whole platform is built off of it. Only posting illicit content or buying fake followers/likes can really do that. Shadow banned means you cannot search your account on Instagram and it doesn't appear anywhere - that is not the case with your account.

3. A promising account will grow thousands of followers over time. The follow/unfollow method is proven to do this and has worked since 2010. Most of our clients grow around 1,000 followers per month - but we never promise nor guarantee results since the followers are 100% real - only fake followers can be guaranteed and we are not in that game (since they are dangerous for users). The reason you didn't receive results for certain periods of time is because we have to a) unfollow all of the users we followed and b) take cooldown period breaks to stay under Instagram's limit and ensure we don't violate their guidelines. This is to keep your account safe. That's why you see growth in cycles, some weeks clients may gain 500+ followers and others they may gain none - it depends which cycle they're in (follow/unfollow/cooldown). This is to only way to make it work unfortunately, we have to play within IGs rulebook and stay well within limits - we would never risk our client's safety.

4. The features on our onboarding video are not fake and there was no ill intent behind how we showcased the dashboard, but we do agree that sometimes certain buttons may be unresponsive for certain users. Our brand new dashboard that launches in the next 1-2 weeks that will have far more functionality and provide a far better service as we have spent the past few months fixing and developing this.

5. Targets are extremely hard to perfect and may need to be constantly adjusted - we do not always get them perfect the first time. Typically you want to aim for an above 15% follow-back rate. 8 times out of 10 we get them perfect for our clients and the performance of our targeting team is tracked on the backend to ensure high quality - sometimes however, targets do require further adjusting.

6. Targeting less accounts is a good strategy to figure out what is working and what isn't as the app will follow more people from less accounts and you will be able to discover your follow-back rate a lot faster before adding more targets. Alex and Sarah gave you great advice for when your targets are not working. We understand that it can be frustrating going back, forth and not seeing growth. Some clients get it right the first time, others require a lot of adjusting - it's a long-term thing. Every account is different, we don't have a fake follower one-size-fits-all solution.

7. We track Alex's response time along with all other account managers rigorously - saying there was "practically no communication" is not true - we do apologize if there are delays, but we respond to all emails. All emails are attended to within 1-2 business days - if Alex is away for whatever reason, the maximum delay would be 1 further business day. We pride ourselves on communicating with our clients and have meetings every day about how we can best assist them.

8. In regards to cancelling, you must email contact@engagementboost.com to cancel your subscription, as per the cancellation policy and the cancel section on the application itself. The cancellations team always respond within 24 hours - although removing permission from PayPal also works - both options are fine with us.

9. Stim is just the PayPal account we use for the sole purpose of processing payments - that is all. Their product, staff and company is completely unrelated to us.

Thanks again for the review - we wish you all the best with your growth journey.

Awful company

Awful company. BEWARE - you can NOT manually remove your payment info from their website once submitted. You have to email the support team to ask them to manually remove your credit card info - and they are SLOW to reply. I asked for a cancellation multiple times and instead got given a free trial extension when somebody finally replied. I ended up having to cancel my card entirely. HUGE red flag if you aren't able to remove your payment information. Don't waste your time.

UPDATE: This asinine reply to my review is cute. Please be aware that Trustpilot verifies all reviews by requiring submitted documents - EngagementBoost flagged my review, and after I sent in the documents and proof to Trustpilot, they verified my review. Additionally I've received two emails from EngagementBoost now to tell me that my credit card on file could not be charged and to please update my payment info. The card STILL has not been removed - luckily I canceled it when I didn't get any confirmation for days from EngagementBoost that it had been removed.

Hey Jessy,

Thank you for your feedback. Your account was cancelled within a 24 hour window when you requested to cancel. We are not sure what the problem is - you were never charged and received a free service. The emails reaching out were automated emails for an unpaid invoice that were sent prior to your account's cancellation.

Most marketing agencies request that you contact your account manager or another team member to cancel a subscription as we can typically resolve any underlying problems that may prompt you to cancel - this is standard practice.

Thanks.

One star and I am beiyng generous

Once you signed up for a free trial it becomes very difficult to get out of it I had to send multiple emails and they kept insisting to give me other offers and offering me lower prices stating that the team really likes my Insta profile and so on it took me 2 days to manage to have my subscription and account deleted and I am steel waiting for confirmation.
They require access to your profile and require you to deactivate the 2-factor authentication services which for me represents a security risk and did not agree.
Not the last the price after the free 7 days trial is $99 which I think is high Also heard people complaining that they got their profiles blocked by Instagram and some worse their profiles were eliminated by Instagram.
Sending spam emails sending the same email over and over which doesn't give confidence that is a serious company as serious companies don't send spam emails.
Also, they keep flagging 1-star reviews instead of answering to them.

Quite Happy

I used Engagement Boost for a total of 3 months. I was very sceptical to try their service as I thought they were either going to completely scam me or grow my account with fake followers especially after reading some of these reviews.

So I signed up with my second account on Instagram and used PayPal, not my credit card. 3 months later I can safely say my experience was really good. The team was very responsive and my account grew very well.

I was able to cancel hassle-free within 48 hours they confirmed my cancellation.

At the beginning I was sceptical to try…

At the beginning I was sceptical to try EngagementBoost. I had never used an Instagram growth service on my account before.

In the first month my Instagram grew by 750 new followers. All of the followers were real and had been specifically targeted. I am beyond impressed.

I run a boutique candle business online and a lot of my customers come through Instagram. The increase in followers has made my account look more credible. I am receiving a positive return on my investment and will continue to use EngagementBoost.
