ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS MINE DATA ILLEGLLY!!!!!!!

moving in a few days and tried to switch the new address to Octopus an Eon refused it,

so contacted Eon and they said a previous account was at the address, I made it abundantly clear this isn't me and I'm moving in on the 20th and have nothing to do with the previous customer,

their reply, GIVE US ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND TENNANCY AGREEMENT

yeah, I'm not a customer of theirs (nor do I want to), nor am I willing to give them all my personal data, nor am I connected to the previous account in any way,

they're cowboys who don't care about customers rights or that I want nothing to do with them

DO NOT USE OR GIVE YOUR DATA TO THESE COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

Criminals

Please please please do not go with the energy company! They will charge you random charges and try with everything they have too add debt onto you for false accusations! They charged me over £20,000! Do not go with this company!

Appalling service and prices.

Appalling service and prices now jumped ship as £ which hadn't gone on prepayment meter after long phone call promised I'd be refunded the £60
Still after 3 weeks no refund and not replying to my emails.

Had solar fitted by E on last year…

Had solar fitted by E on last year after about 6 months it packed up. E on diagnosed faulty inverter came to fit a new one, did not work, diagnosed battery defective. Belated attendance replaced battery, has not worked since. Still defective, has not worked since. Sent email after email, no adequate response. The impression is that no one gives a toss. also had flooding problem with heat pump installation.

Moved to EON for Electricity and Gas. All very easy to arrange. Transfer happened on time on the date requested. Fantastic updates via email. Super support and immediate answer to my queries via WhatsApp.

Joke of a company

Notified them I was moving house and changing supplier on August 14th, had no response. 21st November comes I finally get an email saying Thanks for telling us you're moving home, and to send final meter readings (had done this already). So then I get an adjusted statement saying they owe me £923.77 on November 23rd, then on the December 27th statement they owe me £2742.93 by which point I have emailed requesting a refund and my account to be finalised and closed and now my statement is showing I owe £820.26. All this time the property has been empty, they are changing the owner for electricity that isn't being used (because it's empty) and apparently still trying to charge me. Finally the owner of the property has informed me that E.on have given my contact details to national grid about an issue with the meter that they need to fix and I am nothing to do with the property anymore. Total Joke of a company just out to rip people off.

Still waiting for Eon to explain to me…

Still waiting for Eon to explain to me why I joined in September 2025 for prepayment metres and on the 7th of January I’m still waiting. Also need to know why they cancelled my prepaid meter appointment on the 23rd of December telling me that I would have an appointment before the 23rd but yet seventh of January, still no appointment.. would also like them to explain to me why it was they stole money for my meter onto two separate occasions .,

not in any rush to help

Was with scottish power after my tenant left and moved to eon as they said they could get me changed over and get the gas meter working within a few days.

So far this has not happened and seems that the people in the departments are in no rush to get my gas back on

its freezing within the property and saying could be a month without gas supply due to the issues in setting the meter up

Negative experience - would rate negative 5 star if I could- they steal your money once you top you in the name of emergency credit by actually taking more than the emergency credit - they put the emegerncy credit on without notifying you and taking your authority - this is absolutely and wholly unprofessional -m

Absolutely a legal scam!
We lived In a small one bed flat and they charged around £3000 for electricity when we have an underfloor heating and the flat was around 400 sq ft, that much for around one year and a bit. We put a complain and they did nothing a few years ago. Now we can’t move as we have an CCJ from them. We suppose to pay for the whole building? No! Now another formal complain. If they don’t send a response asap we’ll contact the ombudsman! We can’t move! I definitely don’t recommend and other friends also said they don’t recommend this business!

I have just read most of the bad…

I have just read most of the bad reviews and they are correct, this company is a joke, I took over the account from a tenant 1/10 the property needed total renovation, very little electricity was used and a small amount of gas just to service the boiler.
The standing charges are 11p per month, the bills have been horrendous, I have been phoning in with meter readings, and the clowns on the phone don’t seem to understand English, they keep saying it’s an estimate, however you give them the meter readings , it doesn’t seem to matter, twice I thought I had it sorted, on the 10th December they credited my account £97.90 and paid the account up to date , perfect, wrong, on the 11th December they reversed the payment £97.90 on the phone when I phoned in again, a cheeky staff member said, Do you want your Gas for Free, I spent one hour on the phone and got nowhere.
Do Not Use This Company. The account is being changed this week, I have put a Formal Complaint in, and it looks like they Don’t have a Complaints Department. As it’s their staff that reply.

Don't get a smart meter

Service was fine while I was sending manual readings. Now I've had a Smart Meter fitted and a Direct Debit set up my bills/statements are never on time and my app account never shows accurate information about usage or costs. It's like Eon do not care at all now the Direct Debit is in place. I'm worried I'm going to be hit
with a massive bill at some point and if this continues I may cancel the Direct Debit and go back to paying my bills monthly as they are generated.

If you are a business think twice…

If you are a business think twice before considering EON business especially if outside of London they don't have there own engineers and contract work to third party so you will be waiting for weeks leaving the business without power. Quick to take payment then ignore you.

ERRONEOUS TRANSFER

Our electricity supply has been incorrectly transferred to E.ON without our consent. We have never opened an account with E.ON, never agreed to switch, and do not have an account number.

We believe this transfer relates to a neighbouring property (as we can see E.ON letters addressed to them), not ours. Our gas supply remains correctly with Octopus Energy, which further confirms this is an error.

Since July, we have repeatedly contacted Octopus Energy to resolve the issue, without success. We have also had no contact whatsoever from E.ON, despite Octopus confirming that our electricity account was transferred to you in error. Although we have attempted to call E.ON, we are told to provide an account number — which we do not have because we are not E.ON customers. This has made it impossible to resolve the issue directly.

This is clearly an erroneous transfer, yet no action has been taken and no support provided. We have been left without clarity or assistance through no fault of our own.

We expect E.ON to urgently investigate this erroneous transfer, contact us directly, and work with Octopus Energy to return the supply to the correct supplier (Octopus) before we are forced to seek legal advice.

Eon are an appalling company

Eon are an appalling company! they do not care, do not check on customers who maybe paying the wrong amount each month particularly the elderly. they do not listen to you on the phone constantly having to repeat myself. the call centre is so loud you cannot hear them and vice versa.

I will NOT recommend this company
