Found this service while looking up information following a new policy my employer is introducing which is discriminatory and unfair based on disability. I used the live chat function and spoke with James who asked lots of questions before offering guidance and advice. It was good to have confirmation that I’m not imagining what I’m feeling and that it does appear to fall under certain acts. Although I still have a mountain to climb, this advice has given me the confidence to start. If you are having similar issues, please speak with them to get an idea as to where you stand.

Rory spoke with me for nearly an hour about workplace issues arising from sexual discrimination and disability discrimination. He was very thorough and gave excellent advice and support. I would recommend anyone who is being discriminated against in their job to call their EASS, because their service is excellent.

I am really pleased with how efficient, clear and direct the service was. I would hope that people less able to access the online chat, however, are able to benefit from this service on the phone too.

Excellent service at a very upsetting and stressful time. Jamie took his time to explain all of aspects involved in my case regarding unfair dismissal (disability discrimination).
They offered to give me extra time to process everything whilst in the call.
I would recommend this service. Thank you.

Very helpful advice and explanation of the Equality Act and how discrimination can come about from Deborah. Even the offer to contact them again after I have sent a letter to the company. I was hurt and distressed and now I feel listened.

If you are facing discrimination PLEASE contact EASS. I had a call back today from a voicemail I left earlier in the week and received the best advice and help I have ever had from any customer support style service. Jamie who assisted me was so patient and supportive, he really knew the relevant frameworks and case law around my issues and gave me the answers to questions I didn’t even know I needed to ask. I came away so informed, and very clear on my next steps. My case was not straightforward, there were multiple components and he gave appropriate advice for each and signposted me to appropriate resources for the elements not in EASS remit. Not only was the information and guidance invaluable, Jamie was so empathetic and kind to me, I have been dealing with this issue for over a year which has affected my mental health severely and the care I received from Jamie was incredible. The advice was all relevant to what I called about, but his treatment was outstanding and has seriously made all the difference to me when going through an incredibly challenging time, and really shows you don’t need to be trained in mental health to demonstrate empathy and kindness to someone struggling. After the call I felt an immense amount of pride that we have EASS as a resource in this country and that they deliver support to the standard I experienced. Thank you very much Jamie from EASS, you have made a serious and invaluable impact on me during a challenging time which cannot be undervalued.

I spoke with Jamie at the Equality Advisory Support Service after leaving a voicemail requesting a call back. The whole interaction was fantastic. Jamie was invaluable in addressing the issues I raised and explained everything clearly and thoroughly.
She took the time to consider my neurodivergent needs and the way I process information, which made a big difference. We spoke for a good amount of time, and I came away feeling lighter, more positive, and much more knowledgeable.
Her communication was excellent and the support I received has had a very positive impact on me. A truly great service. If you have any queries, I highly recommend asking for Jamie, she was amazing. 🤩 ❤️

Really good experience using the chat function. I'd had a really distressing and offensive response from the workplace and they helped me understand my rights and what I can do. Though I am very grateful for their guidance on how to peruse a complaint I'm more grateful for them just acknowledging that what happened is not acceptable, so often when disability discrimination happens I don't feel like anyone else notices and I feel gaslighted by the whole thing, it really made the world of difference for someone to hear me.
The template letter they've given me looks great too and I'm hoping it helps me be heard. Thank you
