Advice was clear and directly related to the law. Adiditonal resources were provided for me to raise my concerns with the company concerned, and furhter contacts for me to follow up and seek legal advice.
I only give 4 rather than 5 stars as it took a few attempts before I coudl get online advice (I gave up on one or two previous attempts as noone seemed to be avaialble).

I called EASS today for the first time, all I would like to say is thank you Rory!
I hadn't heard of your service before, but I googled and contacted you about an issue my wife was having at work.
Rory was amazing, friendly, calm, understanding, factual, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all the rules and regulations.
I don't which I should praise more Rory's phone manner and conversation skills or Rory's knowledge, because both are amazing.
TL;DR - Hire more people like Rory, because Rory is amazing.

Hi, I spoke to Rory yesterday regarding a matter arising at a special school and he was absolutely amazing. He was kind, informative, and so very patient as he waited for me. Can't say enough words of praise for him. I hope I get Rory again if I need to speak with the service again. The service itself is fantastic and absolutely a gem for the help it provides people suffering from discrimination, in all its disguised manifestations. Thank you Rory and thank you to the service. Continue the fantastic work you do.

Whitney was super supportive and gave me an open and listening ear despite perhaps me not calling the right service. It meant a lot to me and I want to thank Whitney.

I found this service really helpful. They explained my rights and what I should expect given my situation. Gave good advice about next steps moving forward and some useful links/services that may be beneficial.
I felt they listened and responded in an impartial but helpful manner.
Fantastic.

I contacted EASS as a victim of long-term racism, harassment, and hate incidents in the UK, hoping for support. But this service is completely misleading. They advertise that they help people, but in reality, they do not help individuals at all — only give basic advice and refer you back to the same public bodies that already failed you.
I am part of a family who has suffered serious emotional, physical, and mental harm due to police inaction, housing failures, racist abuse, and cannabis exposure. EASS offered no real support, no legal help, no protection, and no solutions.
This service is run by a private company, not a government body. They can’t take action, can’t represent victims, and they do nothing to hold racist institutions accountable.
Their Google ads make you believe they are here to protect your rights — but that’s false advertising. If you’re in crisis, please don’t expect help from EASS. The UK needs a real equality service with power to act — this isn’t it.
Extremely disappointing and disheartening.

I was really impressed with the support I received, professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. I spoke with Deborah, who quickly provided clear guidance and signposted me to the right resources. Support like this is invaluable, and I believe all workplaces should either have something similar in-house or actively direct staff to services like the Equality Advisory Support Service.

Fantastic, knowledgeable support from Rory. Took a lot of stress away from knowing how to respond to the situation in hand. Supported by good resources.

Spoke to Rory who was very knowledgeable and informative and managed to put my mind at ease which allowed me to look at things differently.
Rory was very patient, thorough, empathetic and easy to talk to. I am so glad that I called. I will definitely recommend this service to others

It seems gender equality in this service only applies when it comes to the rights and privileges of women. If your a man, don't even waste your breath on these idiots.

Rory provided me with a very reassuring phone call very soon after I made my initial enquiry and a fantastically useful no-nonsense legal complaint letter which made us feel much more in control of a very difficult situation.

Very helpful and gave me the facts and probability of my rights with my disability. I am more informed about the equality act than I was previously.

Despite the negative feedback from the EASS I was compensated by the Council . Thoughts ?
Awful discriminatory service that will hang up on you even if you explain that the way you communicate (may take a bit longer etc) is due to a condition. Not even given a reference number so can't follow it and as they hung up couldn't even do the automated satisfaction survey. Even a perfectly healthy person couldn't have done much better than I did.
Disgusted.

I spoke to Jo today with regard to a potential case of discrimination by an employer on the grounds of disability. In addition to providing me with a wealth of crucial information, Jo was kind, caring, empathetic, understanding and reassuring - responses that made all the difference in the circumstances. Thanks to Jo I am clear on the steps to be taken and have a sense that I have control over a situation I thought was a done deal. Thank you Jo for your ultimate professionalism.

Helpful and productive, I had a discussion with Jayne 20-05-2025 who was patient , constructive and helpful in giving sound advice and pointed me to various sources and directions, I learnt a lot and with the additional template letters, it gave me an opportunity to raise it with my employers , when being on long term absence and trying to return to work. It also gave me motivation and to obtain the right answers to my problems.
