Dramatic company, not replying on mails for months, while I’m sending reminders more than weekly. Charging me while I am supposed to get money back.

I have an issue where i got 2 invoices for the same address. This issue has been going on since january. I kept on calling the customer service for weeks because i kept on getting the letter of the double invoice, but all they are saying the issue is still on process, 2 months imagine that. On top of that, I sent an email to customercare@eteck(.)nl but there were no responses.

Worst heating provider ever. We're forced to use Eteck because of district heating, and they're charging us an excessive amount.
During the summer months, they've registered extremely high heating consumption. After calling them twice a month since August, they were still not able to fix the issue, and they of course charged for the extra consumption in the jaarnota. I've been promised the issue will be solved as soon as possible. Now I wonder, will I ever be reimbursed?

The worst energy supplier in Holland! Haven't had warm water and heating for three days now, whereas Eteck has been sending emails that the 'storing is opgelost'. The same issue has been going on for years. Tip: never rent an apartment where it is obligatory to sign a contract with Eteck! Update and reply to Eteck: I did send several emails, but since then the issue has just worsened. Again no warm water or heating today. Again apologies, but no structural solution. Update 2: Reply to Eteck: Stop telling me to contact you by email, I already did that! I also called and every single time I received conflicting information. It turned out that Eteck didn't even contact their maintence partners about the malfunction.( they kept refusing to call them, and I later learned that the notifications Eteck sends are not received by their maintenance partners). And to make things worse, Eteck dared to send a new email that they fixed the malfunction. Of course it wasn't solved. It seems that Eteck just doesn't care about their customers at all!

Extra bad experience with Eteck. Extra high fixed cost and highest variable fee of all the suppliers. The building is forced to use the service from them. I just moved in for 4 months and already plan to leave because of the Eteck. Please stay away from this company!

These are not a real company, they are scammers. They don’t even deserve 1 star. They deceive customers with high fixed monthly costs. If this company provides services to a building, I strongly recommend staying away from that building.

During the cold winter months, I deliberately reduce heating and try to keep the variable costs around €50–60 by living in uncomfortable, cold conditions. Despite this, I am still expected to pay an additional €100 every month as a fixed fee for the maintenance of a system that frequently underperforms or malfunctions.This pricing structure clearly demonstrates how far your policy is from being customer-oriented. The fact that a customer is forced to accept high unavoidable fixed fees regardless of actual usage is neither reasonable nor fair.
For your information, two of my neighbors have already decided to move out of the building solely because of these costs. Personally, when searching for a new apartment, we now have only one condition: that Eteck services are not involved.

1 Star because I cannot give 0. Besides holding a monopoly with agreements with Buildings and provinces, they charge for things that should not be there. So I pay a fixed cost for cooling, but wtf uses cooling in the winter? Most of times we use heating and we still pay. Then in the summer I need to pay for heating lol, wtf uses heating in the summer?
Just money for free for these leeches which unfortunately you cannot escape.
Another curious thing, if you wish to send a compliment you can send an email, if you want to make a complaint, they only leave the pone contact, strange right?

0 stars actually. The company is abusing its monopoly position with ultra high fixed costs. That kind of system should not exist as it is illegal.
Most horrible customer service experience ever. They took over Essent, but did forget to inform anyone as well as sending bills. So when we finally got the bills it was nicely glazed with collection charges. When you make a call: they are just sorry but nothing they can do about it. Horrible.
When first subscribed on the app it was saying 25€ per month, only once we moved in we found out there's a 90€ fixed cost PER MONTH!

Eteck have not sent my contract to Liander.
I cannot get through via the Contact Form nor am I able to reach them by phone.
I have been with Eteck since 01-10-24.
As a result of this, a bailiff is going to be in contact with me and I may incur as fine as a result.

We have had no hot water for two days. When my partner reported it two days ago he was told they will come on Monday. So thats 5 days they expect us to sit without water in the middle of winter with temperatures below 10!
When I called them to ask if it can be attended to sooner as we have guests with a young child i was told i would be contacted again and nothing… more than 24 hours later.
This is one of the most expensive gas companies out there because of their high service cost and clearly with disgusting service. Unfortunately we a forced to be with them as its required by our building which we told could be illegal as its a monopoly scheme.
How disgusting to expect humans to go without hot water in winter and still expect them to pay so high for such poor service. As an expat this is the only thing or company i can shame in the Netherlands. Its sad that such a dissatisfying company is still running in a country thats so effecting.
Every review you are reading here is 100% true. I don't know anybody in my apartment block in Zaandam (300+ residents in Zaanse Helden) who are happy with Eteck.
The company has a blanket deal with the Zaanstad province so we only have them as a hot water provider. They charge a ridiculous amount but the service is terrible. The hot water cuts out randomly and they take forever to respond to tickets and their phone service line hardly gets picked up.

Called the customer services for multiple times, more than 30 minutes per call, desperately trying to resolve issues they caused themselves. This is not to blame the poor customer service employees who ate quite kind and try there best, it is clear its just a bad company that doesn't know how to do.good bussiness.

I am experiencing a horrendous service from eteck. I have been without hot water since August 29th, 2024. I have an active contract with eteck however eteck has refused to resolve the lack of hot water in my apartment. This issue started a day after they sent a technician to check the filters, cooling etc.
I have called their customer care personnel more than four times without receiving any help. I have filed complaints on their website without any attention.
The least I got was that their partner SchoutenTechniek has been informed to come and resolve the issue, however, it is almost a week now since the last call to eteck and I have not received any call for an appointment with SchoutenTechniek.
Not to mention of cooling that the technician discovered was not working. If only I have another option to subscribe to another energy provider. This monopoly is a terrible idea for quality service.
I am beyond frustrated with Eteck's service. We moved into the Yvie building in Amsterdam (through Fris Woning Makelaars) and have been without hot water for over a month. After sending several complaints, it was determined that the issue lies with Eteck. While we are supposedly "in the system," we're somehow not, which led them to schedule a handyman to come on a Thursday. Thursday came and went – no handyman.
I called again on Friday and was told someone would come. Again, no one showed up, and we received no communication whatsoever. I stayed at home the entire time, waiting, but nothing. I called on Monday to explain the situation yet again, and after a 15-minute wait, the lady said she would forward my issue to the technical department for an appointment. A few hours later, I got a call asking if we'd been contacted – I said no – and they said we would be called. Still, nothing.
To make matters worse, I cannot even log in to "Mijn Eteck" because I keep getting a 500 Server error. The lack of hot water is inconvenient enough, but the complete absence of customer service, communication, and technical support is unacceptable.
After calling again on Tuesday, I was told the technician who is supposed to fix the issue is from their partner, Roodenburg, and they are the ones who aren’t responding. While I understand this, I believe it’s still Eteck’s responsibility to ensure their customers receive the service they’re paying for.
We're stuck in limbo with no hot water, no updates, and no resolution in sight. Extremely disappointed in Eteck and their partners. I hope this review helps them realize the severity of the issue.
Would give zero stars if possible. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in the Netherlands. Months after termination of my contract, they are still charging me. Best find lawyer before entering a contract with them.
No heating or hot water for two weeks. Their response? NOTHING. Expensive and incompetent, just what you’d expect from a monopoly supplier. I’m just trying to figure out how to sue them now as I’ve given up trying to deal with them directly. I feel for the poor souls who work in their call centres.
They can't supply enough heat to many apartments in our building (The Hague - New Babylon City Tower). This is reported by many people here and they simply can't fix it. We pay quite a lot because these guys seem to be a monopoly here. What a terrible situation.
