Verification in eToro will take approximately up to 5 business days if all the required documents are submitted.

Deposits on eToro are divided into instant payment methods and ones that might take longer like a Bank Transfer.

Key points on Withdrawals at eToro

Withdrawals at eToro have a flat fee of $5 USD. *Except in the USA where we do NOT charge a withdrawal fee.

A withdrawal in eToro has 2 stages. Once received, the request to withdraw will be processed by our teams within 2 business days.

Following the processing, a withdrawal will take an additional 3-8 business days until the funds arrive to the used method of payment.

It is important to note that this time period depends entirely on the payment service provider.

Emails will be sent at both stages confirming the request was received, that the withdrawal has been processed and to which method of payment it was withdrawn.

All about Trading/Market Disruptions

Trading disruptions are situations in which markets cease to function regularly, usually defined by fast and extensive movements in the market. There is no one specific reason for this - they can derive from unusual trading (such as a crash or a pump) or physical threats to the stock market.

No matter what the case is, trading disruptions are a result of the unusual conditions in the market, which can cause panic and disruptions to trading.

Why you might not be able to open or close a position during a market disruption

  1. Lack of liquidity, or inability to receive pricing from our liquidity providers
  2. A stock might be halted by the exchange
  3. Inability to open SELL positions due to an asset being “unborrowable”
  4. An unborrowable asset is an asset that won’t be lent out to short-sellers, which might happen when there is no one willing to lend out the asset.
  5. On eToro, the SELL side is not available when the asset is unborrowable.

  6. Extreme volatility on different asset types.

In general, when an asset is not available during halting periods, set order rates that are triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit) during the halt will be executed on the next available executable rate when trading resumes.

Long-time customer, but poor handling of system error

I’ve been using this broker since 2019 and never had issues until now.

Recently, my default trading currency was changed from USD to GBP without any action on my part. Even earlier the same day, trades were settling in USD as expected, so there was no clear indication that anything had changed.

As a result, a trade was executed in GBP, leading to unexpected conversion fees. When I contacted support, they acknowledged that this change may have been introduced as part of a system update, but refused to refund the conversion costs.

The issue isn’t the amount, it’s the principle. A system change that was not initiated or clearly communicated to the user should not result in the client bearing the cost.

I would have expected the broker to take responsibility and reverse the fees, especially given this was not user error. This experience has seriously impacted my trust in the platform.

UPDATE:

The broker has now responded stating that, as of 19 April 2026, the default trading currency for UK users was changed to GBP and that this was communicated in advance via email and in-app notifications.

However, I did not receive any such notification via email or within the app. Even more concerning, earlier on the same day my trades were still being processed in USD, and then later the currency switched to GBP without any clear warning at the point of execution.

Despite acknowledging this was a system-wide change, they have refused to refund the resulting conversion fees.

This reinforces my original point: a change that materially affects trading outcomes should be clearly communicated and visible at the time of execution. Passing the cost onto customers when this is not the case is, in my view, unfair.

Very disappointing handling of what should have been a straightforward issue to resolve.

FURTHER UPDATE (Case: 09019362):

eToro has now confirmed that this was a system-wide change they implemented, but maintains that the resulting conversion fees are the user’s responsibility.

Their position is that users could have selected USD or GBP when closing the trade. In practice, this is not reasonable. The option appears as a small, non-prominent dropdown that is easy to miss, particularly when closing trades quickly in response to market movements.

More importantly, this does not apply to trades executed automatically via stop loss or take profit, where no manual selection is made at all.

Combined with the fact that earlier trades the same day were still processed in USD before the sudden mid-day switch to GBP, this created an inconsistent and unclear user experience.

In my view, it is not reasonable to expect users to bear conversion costs resulting from a system-level change that was not clearly communicated in a way that reflects how the platform is actually used. They should take ownership of this.

Based on my experience, it feels like customers are expected to absorb the impact of platform changes rather than being supported when something goes wrong.

There are other brokers out there with more transparent pricing, tighter spreads, and more responsive customer service. After this experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully compare platforms before choosing where to trade.

Terrible platform, extortionate fees, abysmal customer service

Do not use this platform if you don't want to feel frustrated with zero customer service and extortionate fees for FX. I closed my account and it was the best thing I did this year. Learn from my experience - DO NOT USE

By the way, following the response from eToro, I refute the idea that I could have booked an appointment. I tried to do that and I was only directed back to the bots and after 30 minutes of waiting to be passed on to a human I gave up.

Also, FX fees are the highest at eToro than any comparable platform. My profits were cut in half because of outrageous FX fees.

The support does not exist

The support does not exist. For every request you make, you always and fundamentally receive the answer that the problem has been solved, and you are referred to general links that are absolutely useless. For me, this is embarrassing, inadequate, and extremely customer-unfriendly. I have closed my account.

Absolutely appalling company

Absolutely appalling company. Had to wait 3 months for customer service to speak with me. My account got froze on a regular basis, with etoro requesting absurd documentation, selfies, bank statements, tax references, more bank statements. This happened once a week for around 2 months. This was after I have proven my identity and address and tax etc on the first occasion, yet etoro decided to freeze my account continuously making me lose opportunities to trade. Then comes the HUGE spreads. They dont charge commission, but they make up for it on their spreads. Dont trust this app. In essence I lost lots of money and time all because of etoro and their terrible service and organization. Never ever will I use etoro again and I highly recommend others to steer well clear and use an alternative like 212.

Refused $1400 referral reward after all terms were met

I referred several friends to eToro. Every single one completed registration, verified their account, deposited $100+ and opened trades worth $100+ – exactly what the Terms & Conditions require.
eToro refused to pay out ~$1400, claiming my friends showed "no intent of maintaining an active trading relationship." This criteria does not exist anywhere in their written terms.
They called it "Promotion Arbitrage" – a term that also does not appear in their T&Cs.
I have now filed a formal complaint with CySEC. I also intend to escalate to Forbruker Europa, which eToro is legally obligated to participate in.
If you are considering their referral program – read the fine print. Or rather, be aware that eToro will invent fine print that doesn't exist.

Uncommunicative, amateurish, and inept.

I opened an eToro Cash ISA in advance of the renewal of the yearly £20K allowance and made a £20K fund transfer on 06.04.2026
in accordance with the directions on your app. Since such time that has been refused as unacceptable (being from a savings account!)
No mention of this 'exclusion' existed or does exist in your app.

I am to date still without my money and have lost the ability to garner any ISA advantages since parting with it. Communication has been difficult/impossible as emails aren't answered and call backs not made.

Moneyfarm tell me its being returned yesterday/today (doubtful as nothing thus far) and also derisorily commented that your (eToro) app is wrong and that they are merely helping you (eToro) out as you aren't licenced to deal with ISAs.

I consider my treatment in this as cavalier and a shameful indictment on yourselves

Great event

Everything is very well organized, from the moment you arrive until the end of the experience. The staff is friendly and everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the overall atmosphere. The food is excellent.

One of the highlights is definitely the seating. The seats are incredibly close to the field.

Overall, a top-quality experience that I would highly recommend.

Very snide practice when opening crypto…

Very snide practice when opening crypto trades chargimg a fee of 1% on opening and not opening with the correct amount you open the trade at. eg. You want to open a trade of $10 they charge you 1% or 0.10 then when you check the trade it has been oened at 9.94 meaning a 1.6% meaning you need to get back up to 10.26 to break even because they charge another 0.10 to close the trade. Just find someone different to trade with s they are a con. I have never been above equity invested always in drawdown. Serious 212 i have been with and have never been down more than 2% drawdown
