Sean the mechanic Evans Wimbledon was…
Sean the mechanic Evans Wimbledon was absolutely amazing. I bought a Whyte bike and despite that I had only ridden about 10 miles on it the lights stop working, so went back to Whyte’s own service department, they decided the battery needed replacing along with fixing the lights. Unfortunately the bike was delivered back to Evans with the back wheel and derailer completely destroyed, really really disappointed with Whyte they were pants throughout especially when they stopped replaying to my messages. Anyway Sean stepped up, kept calling and messaging them and got the bike fixed for me, it took 3 months but that was Whyte and their woeful idea of customer service and warranty.
Thanks Sean, and Whyte never again.
Easy to order
Easy to order - kept informed regarding delivery and delivered quickly well before estimated delivery date. Good quality, cycling shoes,
Fantastic Team at Evans Cycles Yeovil
Fantastic Team at Evans Cycles Yeovil!
Took my Amflow PL Carbon e‑bike into Evans Cycles in Yeovil for a puncture repair and a gear‑shift issue (That I had caused!), and the service was absolutely spot‑on. The team diagnosed and fixed everything swiftly and professionally, and had me back out on the trails in no time — just in time for Easter bank holiday!
A special shout‑out to George and the team, who were excellent throughout: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do!
Highly recommended and I’ll definitely be returning for servicing and parts!

Order a bike tried to amend order5 mins later , still to this day 4 days on trying to cancel this bike and now have received confirmation of delivery, spoken to multiple people on multiple occasions, everyone all as unhelpful as the last.
Dangerous bike!
I purchased a new bike from the Brighton Evan’s branch and unfortunately, on my fourth cycle a few weeks after I bought it, the rear brake completely failed and snapped out of the handle bar whilst I was cycling. I called the store to complain and ask for how they could deal with the situation, and after some discussion was told the person I was speaking to would call me back the next day (Saturday) or worst case the following Monday. That was on the 5th of March and now, four weeks later, I have heard absolutely nothing, no call or response to my chaser email either. Terrible service and a very disappointing and dangerous purchase.
Avoid! Awful customer service.
Awful customer experience. Telephone number to store is never answered. Delivery was 1week late and was blamed on the courier. Complained to their customer service department and was not offered any compensation for taking time off work to sort out my order as no one in the store answered the phone. The store manager was extremely young, cocky, rude and was not helpful at all! I have been offered a 30 day free health check but then told by staff in store that they do not have mechanics on site, so who built my bike? Instead I have to travel to the Birmingham store which involves me taking my bike on the train! I shall never buy from them again. Do yourself a favour and go to a proper bike retailer, like Leisure Lakes, etc.
Cheetham Hill Manager (Matt) - Amazing
This review is specifically about the Cheetham Hill store and more specifically, the manager, Matt ( I hope I have his name right - he is the guy that says Groovy).
We wanted to buy a Brompton bike and my partner took us to the Cheetham Hill branch. The service we received from Matt at this point was amazing. He was so passionate about Bromptons and really gave us an amazing insight into what the bikes were all about and which ones would be best for us with how we were intending to use it. He showed us different types, i.e. handle height, gears etc, and let us ride those different types around the store. He helped us will all of our questions that we had. He talked us through the maintenance of the bikes. Initially, the bike was only going to be for my partner but we ended up both wanting one.
We bought them online and got them delivered to store and he was there again. We collected them from him and he did a final check they were ok. It turned out that mine had a puncture when I tried riding it around the store. He changed the inner tube immediately. We also had my father-in-law there who asked Matt about a millio n questions about bikes etc and he answered all of them with such great knowledge and passion.
We've popped back in a few times to get accessories and everytime he makes us feel so welcome. He remembers who we are and asks how life is with the Bromptons. He talks about the accessories and mentions ones that he loves and whether we've seen them or not.
He also did the 6 week service for us when we went back in and our bikes were beautiful when they came back out again.
Honestly, if you are looking to buy a Brompton, you want to go to this store and speak with Matt. He has so much knowledge and genuinely loves the bikes. He doesn't sell at you he just gets excited at talking about them. He genuinely cares about the service that he gives and I feel like I can really trust him. He also makes me really excited to go up there, when I normally don't cope with interactions very well. We go to the Cheetham Hill one now for all of the stuff we need because we feel so safe and excited.
I will add that there were issues along the way - but they were all central issues. One problem is that we ordered our bikes to be delivered to store and we didn't get any updates on their arrivals, one bike got lost, the store didn't know who the bikes were for and the central team were no help. Again, though, Matt made the situation so much better because he is so passionate and friendly.
I had a bike(commuter) service done at…
I had a bike(commuter) service done at the EC but it was a nightmare. Nothing was done to the bike in two weeks. After two weeks the manager convinced me to buy spare parts such as the continental tyre(front). I have been using the Schwalbe Marathon plus tyres for ages but the store manager said that the continental tyre was as quality as the SM+. Long story short, I had two punctures on the Continental tyre in 6 months while none at the SM+ tyre(rear). The gears have been bad since the service too. I will never use Evans Cycles at the Cheetham Hill Fort shop ever again. I have paid £40 for a tyre that I was told it was the same quality as my typical tyres only to get punctures.
A special thanks to Gateshead Team
A special thanks to Dan, Liam and Tom at the gateshead store for their excellent knowledge and assistance given, as we are trying to purchase our first folding E-bikes. A difficult task was given to them as we requested specific dimensions to meet our requirements. Stock availability is now the only stumbling block, but the Gateshead team and Other Evans staff are constantly trying to fulfil our needs.
Many thanks.
What a terrible company!
What a terrible company!! I bought a gift voucher online for my partner's birthday. The money came out my account when I ordered it. I then received an email saying the order had been cancelled, even though they've taken my money! I contacted live chat and the customer service said they couldn't tell me why it was cancelled (a gift card cancelled!? Make it make sense!) and I would need to wait up until 7 days for a refund. The customer service agent was very much like 'ah well, sorry that's the way it is.' Taking money and not providing a service is FRAUD!!
Untruthes
Couldn't answer questions I had and was provided with false information.
Yet to receive product to comment on that.Delivery date is also past the delivery time given at the time of purchase.
AVOID AT ALL COST
Worst experience iv ever had when buying any item, £3900+ on a bike and I had to deal with delivery to the workshop myself, 3-4 weeks went passed and still had no bike then when it was delivered to workshop which has one worker working 1 day a week and when he was in he did not fill me with any confidence about putting the bike together. Being a E-bike I wanted to make sure it was working but was unable to put it together fully working and said it was faulty. DO NOT WASTE TOUR TIME OR MONEY
Easy to order
Easy to order, delivered quickly and the bike is great quality.

My wife and i shopped at the chester…
My wife and i shopped at the chester store for a bike for my wife. The right bike wasnt in the store. I was about to buy another bike which the sales guy realised it wasnt what she wanted and directed us to check on the evans website where i found what she really wanted. I have made a purchase and it is arriving tomorrow.
Well done.

I use Evan’s as my go to shop and bought my Spezialized Tarmac from them. I’ve just ordered 2 tubeless road tyres and been sent 2 inner tube tyres. I will still use Evan’s as the y offer great service but was let down this time
Completely useless company
Completely useless company. Ordered a bike for collection and they put my contact details for delivery to the store which caused delay and confusion. Now I have just been to pick up the bike and they sent the wrong bike to the store?? I got a lift into town now I have to walk home. Don’t bother.
Buying online isn’t a good idea.
I bought some cycling shoes on line and wasn’t happy with them and returned them. I received a refund for the shoes but not the p and p. This cost me a wasted £8.
It’s impossible to speak to anyone real at Evans customer service and shop workers when contacted are nonchalant to the point of rudeness.
The whole experience has been expensive, frustrating, unhelpful and disappointing. It is the worst online shopping experience I have ever had.
Great product/very poor sizing
Fast delivery. Great product. Terrible sizing. I usually wear size 43 cycling shoes. I ordered size 44. They were far too tight.
