I would strongly advise anyone considering buying a vehicle from Evans Halshaw BYD Wolverhampton to think very carefully before doing so.
Communication throughout the entire purchase was extremely poor. Once I paid my deposit, it became almost impossible to get hold of anyone. I was repeatedly promised callbacks and updates that never happened, and I constantly had to chase for information.
I was then pressured into collecting the vehicle before the end of the month, despite being told by the Branch Manager that the car wasn't actually ready and was being rushed through preparation to meet the dealership's month-end targets.
When I collected the car it still had scratches, broken door sills, holes in the number plate and hadn't even been cleaned – despite assurances these issues would all be resolved before collection.
Less than 24 hours later, the engine management light came on.
Trying to contact the dealership was almost impossible. I spent over an hour calling without anyone answering and only received a response after a family member physically went into the dealership to demand someone call me back.
The vehicle spent weeks back in the garage before being returned to me, only for the engine management light to come back on again four days later.
At that point I completely lost confidence in both the vehicle and the dealership and requested a refund. I have now been without a vehicle for over a week after returning the courtesy car because I was told my refund couldn't be processed until it was returned. Despite this, I am still waiting for my refund. I was repeatedly given conflicting information about the refund process, promised callbacks that never happened, ignored when asking for updates, and even given contradictory explanations about whether my refund had actually been submitted.
I have also submitted a formal complaint to Evans Halshaw Head Office, but they have failed to respond within their advertised timeframe. I have since escalated this through the customer help team and have repeatedly been assured that someone would contact me urgently. Over a week later, I am still waiting.
The complete lack of communication, accountability and customer service has made this the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through the same experience. I rarely leave reviews, but I genuinely hope this helps other customers make an informed decision.

Called in the dealership to take a look at options for a new car - was greeted warmly by Shabs - gave me loads of information on a suitable vehicle - just a shout out to the Head of Business Chris and Sales Manager Bayley who also went above and beyond in ensuring the whole process went without a hitch - will definitely be highly recommending this dealership and those employees.

The car itself is good, but unfortunately the overall experience wasn’t. It was very obvious that the staff were unhappy I wasn’t purchasing through finance, which made the process feel uncomfortable. There was a lot of pressure to buy additional products, and the sales approach felt quite pushy.
On top of that, the process of getting the car was very slow. After the purchase, I emailed with a question but received no response at all, which was really disappointing.
Overall, while I’m happy with the car, the level of customer service fell short.

Super unsatisfied with the after care. I have bought a used car and I am unable to connect to the BYD app. I have been chasing for 2 weeks without this matter being resolved or a timescale. This should have been sorted before I purchased the car. I feel like I have been lied to.

We started a car finance application on 8th April in the late afternoon. During the discussion, we asked if it would be possible to take the car the same day. The staff member mentioned that it might have been possible if we had started earlier in the morning, so we reasonably expected the process to be completed by the next day.
However, there was no progress on the 9th. The finance documents were only signed on the 10th, and the deposit was paid on the 11th, yet the car was still not ready and no clear updates were provided throughout this time.
On 12th April (Sunday), I contacted the finance company directly and was informed that a driving licence copy was still required. This was not clearly communicated earlier, which caused further delay. When I followed up with the dealership, I was told it would be completed on Monday, but the response I received also felt dismissive and unprofessional, as I was told not to call repeatedly.
As a first-time finance customer, I expected clearer guidance and better communication regarding timelines and required documents. If we had been informed from the beginning that the process could take up to a week, we would have planned accordingly or considered other options.
Overall, the experience so far has been disappointing due to delays, lack of transparency, and customer service attitude. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve communication and professionalism for future customers.

Purchased a car from them, they took a £250 holding deposit, until the car was delivered. They make you use a debit card and a company called Lithia holdings comes up on your bank statement. However despite calling and emailing BYD Evans halshaw several times thy don’t come back to you. This is borderline theft. It’s been 3 months since they took this money

Seen a car for sale on autotrader . rang at 9.15 and spoke to a sales person regarding the sale of car .I asked a simple question which was,has the car got a full main dealership history as advertised . I was told that they would have to look into it on the computer ? and they would get back to me in 5mins. never did.phoned again one hour later was told her manger was waiting for a report back. dont know why info was not to hand ? Never called me back.I phoned again,they were still looking into it and they explained that they would have to ring the last owner of the car to see if it had any history as they now havent found any.My point is this!! Dont advertise a car on autotrader saying it has Full main dealership history if you havent got it. Totally missleading and a waste of time how you sell cars i will never know . so glad now after my interaction on the phone that i have saved my self the heartache if any thing went wrong. As i would have to have dealt with them again.unbelievable !!Expecting a robot to reply next saying sorry about your experience with us we will look into it and make improvement to our customer services and advertising .

But on delivery the dial was on the red, I cost £63 to fill up. And secondly was told the car had 2 keys, but again on arrival there was only 1 key. Now it’s taken 7 weeks, and a lot of phone calls to eventually obtain a second key from a dealership in Colchester.

Worst experience ever. self entitled members of staff including the principal dealer. they would lie to make themselves look better and make the buyer feel helpless. selling right offs to then tell you how lucky you are to get only the money you paid for the vehicle and not the money you lost fixing it up.
