I bought my car from this dealership at the end of August. Over autumn/ winter I don't use air con, so when I tried it in spring and found it wasn’t working, I paid for a regas only to be told there was a 'significant' leak in the condenser.
Because my warranty was only three months, I genuinely didn’t know when the issue occurred.
I left a review explaining my disappointment and said I wouldn’t buy a used car from them again. They replied publicly asking for my contact details, which I provided straight away. I even made it clear that I wasn’t expecting a free repair — only a competitive quote given the circumstances, as it’s a costly fix. Despite this, I’ve heard nothing back. I’ve contacted customer services four separate times to let them know and still haven’t received a single follow‑up. The lack of communication has been extremely frustrating and doesn’t reflect well on their after‑sales care. A simple call or email would have gone a long way.Based on this experience, I can’t recommend them.

Just recently purchased a car, dealt with Kallum who was very friendly and informative throughout the process.
We felt that the process of collecting the vehicle could have been quicker, particularly the delay in confirming that the payment had gone through. We had transferred the payment the day before and also phoned to confirm this, but as Kallum was not in, the message was unfortunately not passed on.

Recently bought my first car from Evan halshaw in bury and from start to finish my experience was excellent. Rob the sales guy helped us every step of the way, kept me updated at all times and even stayed late when I picked the car up to help me. Car was ready quickly and in brilliant condition. Would definitely recommend these when looking for a car.

Evans Halshaw dealt with the Ford recall on my Puma quickly and effectively. They even washed and vacuumed before handing back in just half a day. The staff, as usual were friendly, helpful and efficient

I dropped the vehicle off and out of the three ladies nobody had my paperwork, so it had to be printed off which delayed me leaving.
I later received the video of the checks completed on my vehicle but couldn't hear a word due to the background noise. If I cant hear what issues have been found its highly unlikely I'm going to pay £1500 for work to be carried out that I cant see or hear needs to be done.
I received a call about some fluid being added to the van, due to a potential leak. I asked them to top it up and then was told my vehicle should be ready for 15:00. I arrived to collect it at 15:15, and it hadn't yet been in the workshop for the top up. I was asked to take a seat and then not spoken to until 16:15, where i was told there was an issue with the payment machine. I was sent a link to make the payment and eventually left at 16:30!

When buying a second hand car and spending upwards of 30k I expect a certain level of service openness and most of all honesty. Adil dealt with my initial enquiry about a Ford ranger raptor they had for sale at the Bury branch. We exchanged a few emails and he was helpful and came back to me with his best price fo the vehicle at around 11:30am on the 10/03/26 he said that was the best price and that there was another party interested so if a deal was to be completed the ball was in my court.
I replied 30 minutes later and said yes I was happy with the price and we sorted a price of £99 to delivery it. I then emailed a few minutes later and explained I was heading into the labour ward as my wife was giving birth, I asked if it was ok to send a deposit later that day or the next morning and to pay the full balance on the Friday when my own car was collected by the buyer. I also asked how much deposit he would require.
I received no reply from 12:30 Tuesday to 10am wed morning when Adil emailed me and told me the vehicle was reserved by another customer overnight.
I explained how we in my opinion had a deal and he just told me as I hadn’t paid a deposit the management wouldn’t hold the vehicle. I did express my disappointment that I had told him I would pay one and asked how much and received zero response back.
All I have had in response is that he will let me know if the other buyer pulls out,,, cheers,,,,, We had a deal on price a deal on delivery and I asked how and when the deposit was required and he has simply sold the vehicle to somebody else who I presume was buying the vehicle on finance and paying the full asking price.
If a deal is agreed by a reputable trustworthy company you would expect it to be honoured. I got the feeling me saying I was in the labour ward and could send the deposit at his convenience was all the excuse needed to get a couple of extra quid for the vehicle. Pretty crappy customer service that and doesn’t inspire confidence in the dealership so I wouldn’t recommend.
And before the usual response appears saying this isn’t how it happened I am happy to prove the email chain showing our agreement

I recently bought a Mini Convertible from Evens Halshaw, Bury, in exchange for an older model of the same car.
The service I received from Elan was exceptional. He was friendly, polite, respectful & helpful as well as being efficient & knowledgable in the sale of cars. He remembered detail, kept me informed as to the progress of the sale & was able to organise a quick collection of the newer vehicle.
The condition of the car was excellent & felt like a new vehicle.

I BOUGHT A KUGA ONLINE WITH THE BURY BRANCH AND THE SERVICE I RECEIVED IN THE USED CAR SALES DEPARTMENT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST. DID NOT ANSWER IMPORTANT EMAILS AND THE SALESPERSON WAS NEVER AVAILABLE. THE CAR CAR WAS PRESENTED IN A VERY POOR STATE. DISGUSTING SERVICE FOR A MAIN FORD DEALERSHIP.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service carried out on my Toyota Auris Hybrid after 10,000 miles at your Evans Halshaw service centre.
Firstly, when I booked the appointment, I specifically confirmed that you carry out servicing for hybrid vehicles and that a hybrid health check would be included. I was assured that this would be done. However, when I arrived for the service, the receptionist informed me that a hybrid health check could not be carried out for my car.
Unfortunately, I did not have any option at that time to cancel the service, as my vehicle was close to 10,000 miles and I hold a premium warranty. I was concerned that declining or delaying the service could affect or invalidate the warranty. As the hybrid health check was one of the main reasons I chose your service centre, this was very disappointing.
Secondly, I am very unhappy with the standard of cleaning provided. The interior was only vacuumed; the seats, dashboard and doors were not cleaned and were still very dusty. The exterior wash was also poorly done, with no proper foam wash, and the car was not dried properly.
Unfortunately, I was unable to raise these concerns on the same day, as I had to return to work immediately after collecting the vehicle.
Overall, I feel that this service was not worth the £256 I paid, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience.
I would appreciate your response, an explanation for these issues, and details of what steps you can take to resolve this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Manu
