Avoid Ford Commercial Provan Road – Fraudulent Billing and Incompetence
It's has been a nightmare. I brought my van in with a specific diagnosis: a noisy brake dust cover. Instead of fixing it, they charged me a massive £350 just to "investigate." >
They essentially double-charged me on labour for a problem I had already identified for them. To make matters worse, they put 16 miles on my van for a "test drive." Why do you need to drive a vehicle 16 miles to check a squeak clutch noisy? It’s a blatant excuse to use my fuel and time for their own errands.
After all that money, the noise is still there. They didn't listen, they overcharged, and they provided zero resolution—just a bill and the keys. This isn’t a service center; it’s a rip-off. I’ll be taking this to Trading Standards and Ford UK immediately.

My experience with Evans Halshaw Ford (Glasgow Transit Centre – Provan Road) has been extremely poor, dealing directly with Service Manager Paul Welsh, with Dealer Principal Brian Gallacher copied into all communication and choosing not to engage.
I was initially charged around £180 for diagnostics and told the battery had failed. Based on this, I spent a further ~£180 replacing it. The fault remained immediately after — meaning the diagnosis was wrong.
I then returned the vehicle and was charged another £648 for diagnostics. Again, no fault was identified.
The report states the Body Control Module (BCM) was “removed and inspected for water ingress.” After collecting the van, I checked it myself and found clear corrosion within the BCM.
Since then, I have asked one simple question repeatedly:
Was the BCM actually removed from the vehicle as stated on the report?
This has been consistently avoided.
On a recorded phone call (which they were aware of), I was told:
👉 “Removed doesn’t mean removed from the vehicle – it just means taking the bolt out.”
That speaks for itself.
I have now spent around £1000 based on incorrect diagnosis and unclear work, and the only offer made is a 15% goodwill gesture, which does not come close to addressing the situation.
The most concerning part is not just the cost — it’s the lack of transparency and the refusal to clearly confirm what work was actually carried out despite being asked multiple times.
I would strongly advise anyone using this dealership to question everything and get full clarity in writing before agreeing to any work.

reached out to for Ford warranty work which required a replacement 12v battery, and repair to bonnet catch mechanism. Also alarm was being triggered randomly. Battery so far so good, and bonnet catch is now operable. However the alarm issue has reappeared. This is Fords fault not the dealerships, and would give Ford 2 stars at most considering these are common known issues on brand new vehicles!
Great service from Terri & Sophie who are very helpful & responsive, I would give them 10 stars

Booked van in for diagnostic test on Friday no call back to say it wasn't done and my van would be kept in till Monday. When it did get done on the Monday they went through the full van to see what was wrong instead of just doing the engine tests ( touting for business if you ask me ) sent me the report needed turbo even though I had the van tested the week before and no turbo fault had appeared, also needed a injector and water pump which I knew already hence why I put it in . Told them to go ahead with the work phoned two days later for an update was told they would have to order parts from Germany and would be 5 to 7 working days I asked is that from the 2 days earlier when I authorised the work was told no it would be from today so 2 days to order parts . Then I asked for the turbo to be left in the van to be told I would have to pay £250 plus the vat to get it back as there is a surcharge which I was never told about prior to any works being carried out so really no way of checking if the turbo was indeed broke. When I questioned the manager and staff I was told they had no obligation to tell me of this (which am sure is against some trading standards laws) was told there is no such law by the service manger . So I bit the bullet on that one . I asked the senior service person Terri to send me a total bill price inclusive of vat to which she sent , then when the van was fixed I went to pay it and they had added a further £160 ISH to the bill when I questioned the bill I was told by Terri that they still had to add the charge for the diagnostic test , I questioned that as I had previously asked for to TOTAL bill to which Terri tried to stutter her way through an explanation and justify why it had been added to the end of the bill when it was the first thing done to the van. I was put through to Paul the service manager , I explained my problem to which he resolved ,he waved the £160 ish ( the only good thing that happened from this experience with Evan Halshaw) .
I would definitely never use this garage again and would advise people to stay well clear .
